Should scuba diving be featured on RHOBH in the future? After all, Eileen Davidson has been a scuba diver in the past. It would be...interesting if Eileen were to be seeing wearing a wetsuit such as this one.

It's going to tank. It was doing so poorly on Fox and barely hanging on to any ratings. At least Jennifer Lopez won't be involved. I couldn't stand her on it. I actually hated the whole panel. They need to bring back Randy and Paula IMO. Simon won't be back because he is under contract with NBC. I'd love them to hire someone else besides Ryan Seacrest as host but you know he'll be back.
Well, Seacrest has to do that morning talk show with Kelly Ripa in New York City five days a week now. American Idol is based in Los Angeles. If TPTB really want Seacrest to return as host, why can't they move the show to New York? I can't say that I'm not worried about Seacrest ending up in an early grave.

The Colbys didn't have a character named Liza Colby, did it?

The 1983 telefilm The Cradle Will Fall featured several actors in their Guiding Light roles. However, neither Kim Zimmer nor Robert Newman was among them.

Is it true that the Battle of the Network Stars specials of the late 1970s and early 1980s discriminated against daytime soap stars? At least the 1985-86 syndicated series Star Games featured daytime soap stars.

Um, is it true that Katherine Kelly Lang auditioned for Santa Barbara back in the day?

No offense, juniorz1, but those crutches trigger me. They make me think of that upsetting 1987 storyline where Eden was paralyzed and stuck in Utah.

It's my understanding that Jed Allan (ex-Don Craig) left Days of our Lives of his own volition in 1985. Not too long afterwards, he began playing C.C. Capwell on Santa Barbara.

Should Eden have worn sweats more often?

Both were LA-based (you could tell in the way they filmed, and in the acting: less actors with theatre on their resumes, primarily TV actors, and sometimes method-actorly).
Cat, did Marcy Walker impress you as a certain type of actress? Before she began working on Santa Barbara, Marcy played Liza Colby on All My Children, which was mostly produced out of New York.

Um, did Kim Zimmer wear a wetsuit for a scuba-oriented OLTL storyline in 1983?

Speaking to the 3 PM time slot (and quoting a 9 YEAR old post lol), I actually think that SB benefited from that and could have continued to benefit from it. Many young people that were in school rushed home to watch the series and caught it because it was at 3 pm. This was a generation that had no established ties to GH or GL or any other soap for that matter. Many of the die-hard fans I've encountered are now in their 30s and early 40s. I actually believe that much of its core audience were brand new soap viewers, the very viewers NBC would be courting after its demise. It's really a shame because when DAYS started catapulting in the numbers (summer of '93), SB was already gone and I think they could have done very well had NBC held on just a bit longer. A DAYS/SB pairing I think would have gone over well and captured the generation of viewers that advertisers ended up striving for.
What if Another World had been cancelled in the early '90s instead of Santa Barbara? What if Santa Barbara managed to last until, like, 1999? Would there have been a decline in production values?
I personally wish that some Santa Barbara episodes had been shot on location in Australia. The Great Barrier Reef lies off the eastern coast of Australia. Hint, hint!

Andrea was raped and murdered. However, Cain merely left town.

No offense, but why couldn't Cain have been killed by Dr. Zach Kelton at the same time that Dr. Zach raped and murdered Andrea?

How have Eileen Davidson and Marcy Walker differed in terms of acting styles?

I don't recall that style being at all popular at the time, but I guess it was done to clearly delineate Liza as an unsympathetic, harsh type in contrast to Jenny, with the long 'heroine' locks.
Paul, do you remember if Liza Colby was introduced before Jenny Gardner? Judging from stuff I've read, Liza may have been introduced in January 1981. It's my understanding that Jesse Hubbard was.
BTW, it's unfortunate that Darnell Williams, Debbi Morgan, and Marcy Walker apparently couldn't make it to the All My Children reunion that took place on the Hallmark Channel's Home & Family show earlier this year. I wonder if footage of Marcy as Liza would've been shown at all if Michael E. Knight hadn't agreed to participate.

Um, will the franchise ever have a male "housewife"? Considering Andy Cohen's sexual orientation...

When did B&B come to closest to resembling Santa Barbara during the 1987-92 period?

Would Debbi Morgan fare well as a "housewife"? I doubt she would've put up with Brandi Glanville's nonsense on RHOBH.
