Danny was a horrible character and the actor sucked, like the rest of the Valentine family...

So, is Mercedes the independent town bike then? Remember a few years ago when Mercedes and Darren worked at The Dog and they both had a sex addiction, yet Darren was one of the few men Mercedes turned down? I actually thought they had pretty interesting chemistry back then...

I think Darren and Cindy will eventually become a legitimate couple and they'll probably play up the "forbidden love" aspect until Steph Waring goes on maternity leave...

I wonder if they'll be keeping Becca with Stacey and Jean soon gone. They should get rid of her too, she's useless without Stacey.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I wonder if they're going to be resting Tanya and Max for a while with Vanessa coming on. I don't think they'd be bringing on a new love interest for Max if they were planning another immediate Tanya/Max reunion. Vanessa is the first new character of Kirkwood's regime, surely, he has lots of plans for her. I think we were told that Stacey would have a "happy ending." I think she and Max will part on good terms, who else does she have? I was watching clips from the first two years or so Stacey was on, and she was very close to Mo, Charlie, Kat, Zoe, and Little Mo. In recent years, she's hardly interacted in any meaningful way with her family, the strongest connection she has now is probably with Max of all people. I don't know, didn't Kirkwood say we'd be getting a lot more of Shirley soon? Hopefully, she gets a life outside of Phil, Heather, and Zsa Zsa. As I said before, I hope Shirley and Kat get to be friends. I liked the bonding scenes that Shirley and Ronnie had a few weeks ago, but I think she'd be better pals with someone like Kat. I think Shirley is a great character and it would be fantastic if they developed her more. I do like her relationship with Phil's children, though...

I wonder if Stacey's goodbye scenes will be with Max, Lacey and Jake work very well together. But I still think anything more than friendship would be creepy as hell at this point. I think Whitney was intentionally fake-crying to be annoying in order get Ryan to help sell those shirts. Notice she wasn't in tears when she left Ryan and Janine's flat.

Janine and Ryan, Jean, and Mo were hilarious in today's episode. Stacey and her knitting. I did like the scenes towards the end of the episode where Jean was teaching Stacey how to knit. Jean is such crazy character, you don't know if she's insane, or if she's just too sincere. Phil: "You pray he [Jordan] don't wake up!" I wonder how Ben will be written out. At this point, I think he'll be sent to a nuthouse. I like Whitney when she's sharing scenes with everyone but Billie. And why the hell does Louise want to style her hair like Zsa Zsa's?

Yeah, I don't think Roxy has long more being in charge of the Vic. They seem to be showcasing her atrocious business and leadership skills a lot lately. I really did enjoy the Vic as a public place when Kat and Alfie were there and Peggy was away, I think they really lightened up the place. Yeah, I think she's now recovered. They both seemed to have matured a lot since, especially Jessie. I think they could be able to work together again, if it were to happen. Jessie has really taken care of herself since leaving, she's lost a ton of weight and looks healthier. Did Barbara and Wendy not like each other? I thought they knew one another way before EastEnders?

I don't think Belinda has any children, I was watching episodes from 2002 where she appeared, and she only mentions her husband Neville. Elaine Lordan (Lynne) was an alcoholic during her time on EastEnders and had problems with many of her co-stars and producers on the show. Jessie Wallace was also having personal problems around this time, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't get on. Bringing on some of Mo's relatives could work. I assume with Charlie, Stacey, and Jean gone by late this year, Kat and Alfie will be staying with Mo. If Roxy looses the Vic, though, and Kat and Alfie eventually get to run it, I guess they would could move there, too.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I think they should bring Lynne back as a secondary supporting character, I think she would work well in that capacity. I'm debating whether or not Little Mo is too "damaged" to make a comeback or not. Zoe will probably never return long-term, as Michelle Ryan doesn't seem to entertain the idea. Belinda would probably never work as a long-term character, and she was never really close to the other sisters. I wonder what Kat would have thought of Sean Slater, I don't think she would have liked him much. I did like the dynamic Kat and Stacey had before Kat left, though. Are there other Slater's out there that we don't know about? I guess they could always create another cousin or something.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
While we're on the Slater family train, some on Digital Spy are speculating that the Slater's may get the main focus in this year's Christmas episode, with Kat back, and with Stacey, Charlie, and Jean leaving. There's also speculation that Alfie might return a few weeks before Kat does, and that Jessie and Shane begin taping in late June/early July, so we may see them on screen by late August or somewhere in September. Also, September marks 10 years since the Slater's were first introduced.

I hear EastEnders won't be on for a day or two, and the show always does poorly against the World Cup, as do all of the soaps. There's supposed to be an hour long episode coming up soon too during the World Cup. I also hear Santer's last full week as sole EP is more horrible than usual. Apparently, the teens are going to the woods during the week of May 31st and they'll dominate that week. It's supposed to be a really boring and bad week, I guess Santer figured it was his last real week, so he put no effort into it.

In the two hander episode that happened after the famous "You ain't my mum!" cliffhanger, Zoe attacks Kat's face in the kitchen. It's somewhere in part two of these clips, which is the entire episode. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Zx30XtJjvA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Zx30XtJjvA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Zx30XtJjvA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTtkNH-LqZw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTtkNH-LqZw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTtkNH-LqZw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqFeza-yCj4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqFeza-yCj4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqFeza-yCj4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyMlY-Wj6IM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyMlY-Wj6IM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyMlY-Wj6IM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I loved Zoe's goodbye scene with Kat. It was such a nice payoff to their relationship, and Julia's Theme was an added bonus!

That was a great clip, and it especially highlights how different all those Slater sisters were, yet they really came together as a interesting and forceful family unit. I thought they set up the Zoe is Kat's daughter story very well. It seemed like for months there were little hints, and you always saw Kat, Charlie, Lynne, and big Mo exchanging looks to each other whenever Zoe came up or an argument between Kat and Zoe. I think Santer tried to do this with Ronnie and Danielle, and it just didn't have the same punch.

I thought Kat and Alfie had a great exit scene too, and it was nice to see Kat get her "happy ending." After she thought Alfie had left her and gone, for her to be surprised on Christmas day as snow fell and Christmas music playing was a nice touch. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I know Peggy's two year absence coincided with what is considered the worst point in the show's history, creatively and ratings-wise, but her absence was probably a small part of that. I'll miss Peggy and Barbara though, she just injects so much personality into all her scenes. The show won't be the same without her. I do think Barbara will eventually return though, she's hinted at this in interviews. I don't think they'll kill Peggy off. Patsy Palmer said she was excited to see Jessie Wallace returning and that Kat was her favourite character when she was watching and off the show. She said she can't wait for Bianca to "spar" with Kat.
