Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
Since it's from the Daily Star, I really hope it's false. We'll have to see, but the show does not need sh!t like that. Didn't GH do this with Anna and her alien friend? LOL!

Many of those posters in that Chryed thread are so weird and freaky.

I hate Zsa Zsa because the actress sucks, the character is flat in characterization, shares no purposeful bond with anyone on the show, and over the last few months, shoved down our throats for no apparent reason at all. That said, teens have traditionally played a very limited role on this show, and really, I think it should stay that way...

The bartender at the club called Lucas "Mark!" so it appears that he's been frequenting this place and using that name. I think the brunette woman he was staring at will be his upcoming focus. Apparently, all of this was part of the rewrite.

BTW, Kris Green said on Twitter that the scenes at the end of the episode with Lucas by the bar watching the actress that was supposed to be the prostitute was a result of the re-shoots/rewrites that took place this week...

Yeah, I think you had to have been watching consistently for a while to notice this big shift in tone with this episode. I really do hope it's an indication of what's to come. I do wonder, however, how many of the fans who came in during Santer's era (primarily the younger fans) will react to more character-driven drama. A lot of them seemed to have been trained to accept Santer's plot-driven, shock tactic, and filler-based in between show. I can't imagine how they'd react to a more subtle show. I agree about Shirley, it seemed like she was finally being herself again and came out of her shell. The party at the Foxes was the best, I really do hope Kim is here for a while.

Jordan was also upset with Ben after he took the blame for the alcohol situation, which was probably the source of their scuffle when Jordan got hit on the head with the wrench. Have you seen today's episode yet, Carl?

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Yes, but so is everyone else on the show. Phil told Ben to defend himself, and Ben's solution was putting Jordan into a temporary coma, though he's regretful.

Ben didn't beat up Lucas, he just hit Jordan (Lucas' son) over the head with a wrench or something and left him unconscious overnight.

Definitely welcomed, compared to the utter crap and cliches that were thorn at us this week and for the final months of Santer's solo episodes (like the Pat and Peggy mess over Harvey). The show just seemed fun today, nothing revolutionary, as you said, but a noticeable shift in tone and direction. There seems to be life in Walford again, something I haven't felt in a while. Though, we have to wait until late August/September to see when Kirkwood's stories begin to take off, but the new characters thus far have good potential. As I said before, it wasn't a major event episode, but the shift in tone was very noticeable and welcomed.

Can he die in service, please? Yes, Carl posted this a few days ago.

As I said before, there was definitely a change in tone on the show with today's episode. I think all of the newly introduced characters were good and have great potential, and the show seems lively again. This was definitely the best episode this week and dare I say in weeks...

Awful character and awful actress, I think. I'm surprised you like a character like that... I also don't think she brings anything to the show. She didn't have much to do in her first episode, but I think there's lots more to come on the bitchy front. She's stirred my interest thus far though. I though she had a good entrance when she rode in.

Just got done watching today's episode, wow, there's DEFINITELY a new burst of energy on the show. And what a difference a day makes. I enjoyed Vanessa and her and Max's cat and mouse game. She's off to a promising start, I think. Kim Fox is hilarious and makes a great drunk. You can tell she's a catalyst to make Lucas go even more insane. Max catching Darren looking at porn. I enjoyed the Heather and Shirley scenes and then the Shirley and Ian scenes too. I love Shirley, but I'm kind of glad Ian called her out on what an enabler she is for Phil at times. The teens were barely anything in this episode, and I must say, I did enjoy their interaction with Ian. It wasn't that bad, especially how he annoyed them. Mercy's grandmother was good too, and I did like her brief scene with Liz as Vanessa drove into town. And wow, they brought Lauren back from wherever the hell she was. I wonder how they're going to write her out. If this the first time we've seen this school set? I don't recall seeing it before, but maybe I just forgot. It wasn't a MAJOR episode, but it was enjoyable and definitely not a chore to watch. You can almost feel there's change in the air at the show. I think the Kirkwood era, though he's sharing the EP credit with Santer for the next two weeks, is off to a promising and fun start. I also thought the comedy in today's show was a lot more character driven than it usually is.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Everyone on Digital Spy and at Walford Web are talking about how different Friday's episode is in its "feel" and how it's one of the best episodes in weeks. I hear Kirkwood's new arrivals were pretty good and they added a lot to the show, well at least this particular episode. I also hear the comedy is the best it's been in a while in today's episode. Looks like Kirkwood really poured a lot of thought in making his first credited episode and his new characters promising. I can't wait to watch it later today.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Ryan Thomas has signed a new contract and Phil Collinson reportedly has plans for Jason... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3/coronation-street/news/a223439/ryan-thomas-lands-new-corrie-contract.html- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I think Jo Joyner said she was very wary about doing EastEnders, not only because of the publicity and scrutiny involved with the show, but because she didn't want to get too comfortable playing one character for too long. I wouldn't be surprised if she leaves for good in a year or two. As for Vanessa, I believe her having a daughter wasn't originally planned and was written in months after Zoe Lucker was cast. I think they ended up signing her for a year and expanded the character and ended up giving her a daughter. We'll see what becomes of the character in a year or so.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I think I read that she's signed for a year, so I guess they'll take it from there. Though, initially, she said it was supposed to be a short stint, looks like it was expanded over time.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
She returns for Ben's trail or whatever though, doesn't she? I wonder how they're going to write Peggy out, it's supposedly a huge exit, but I wonder what causes her to leave.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Hopefully, Kirkwood's influence does a better job with Santer's remaining stories than Santer did. I can't wait until this show is purged of all of Santer's story influence, it can then start over.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
God, Thursday's episode was painful to watch. This teen sh!t is beyond horrible, none of those characters are worth any effort. There's just no story there. I'll be happy when Leon and Zsa Zsa are gone. I'm glad teen week is coming to an end... The Harvey, Pat and Peggy stuff was just stupid filler today and I'm glad this stupid plot is done. There was nothing else, you can clearly tell Santer gave up as he knew these episodes were his swansong.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Zoe Lucker interview with GMTV, you can see a very brief part of Vanessa's first scenes with Max at the beginning of the clip: <object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/video/xdjlzx_zoe-lucker_shortfilms"></param><param'>http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/video/xdjlzx_zoe-lucker_shortfilms"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/video/xdjlzx_zoe-lucker_shortfilms" width="480" height="360" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object> - EastEnders: Discussion Thread
