EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Today's episode Denise really seems to be coming into her own as a character, and Diane Parish was really good in today's episode with her scenes with Lucas and Jordan. I like Jodie, but she seems a little too cutesy. I'm sure we'll learn more about her she goes on, and I do like the rapport she has with Darren. I laughed when she thought George was a dog. LOL! at Darren walking in on Max and Vanessa screwing in the office. Shirley's leopard outfit that she wore to court was a Kat Slater Moon outfit. When I think of EastEnders and leopard prints, I think of my girl Kat. Nice to see Jane back, and I did enjoy Lucy digging into Zsa Zsa. I don't think we've seen these school sets until recently because I don't ever recall seeing them before.

Wasn't she the first McQueen introduced too, and then we gradually got to meet the rest of the family?

Vanessa was originally brought in for 7 episodes, which might explain why she and Max had sex so fast. It looks like she'll be gone for a few months and then return. Apparently, Zoe Lucker just signed a new, longer-term contract with the show, which Zoe is to begin filming for soon. Read her new interview about it here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/scoop/a222610/zoe-lucker-talks-eastenders-return.html

So, I'm guessing Jodie's job is working at Roxy's salon? I remember hearing something about that before.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Today's episode... Jodie kind of reminds me of Dawn, not in a bad way, she had some charisma in the little scenes she had, and it looks like Vanessa and Jodie have an interesting bond. The actress is really beautiful though, and they needed someone with some sex appeal ever since they fired Kara Tointon. I'm intrigued by her little "chance meeting" with Darren. I laughed when the guy from Social Services knocked on the door and Shirley said, "We're atheist!" and slammed the door shut. It was nice to see Zainab away from Syed and Masood, and she was somewhat of another catalyst for other problems between Denise and Lucas. The book club meeting with Kim taking over with her lingerie was kind of fun.

She was one of the best writers to ever write for the show, and even when the show was going through a creatively bankrupt period in the mid 00's, her scripts were often considered to be the saving grace of that era.

According to Sally Abbott, who has written a few episodes over the years, her husband Michael Begley will be writing an episode that will air between Emilia di Girolamo's and Daran Little's first episode that's to air in August. http://twitter.com/sallyjabbott/status/15619678870 Emilia di Girolamo was apparently very impressed with Michael Begley's commissioning pitch, comparing it to one done by Sarah Phelps.

And none of that had the character clog up serious airtime for weeks on end. Well, the 'actor' is being recast. Maybe JJ Abrams can construct a clusterfuck mystery treatment for you on his whereabouts.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Clogged how? Until recently, he was nothing more than a filler character. I hardly see how the likes of Zsa Zsa and Leon are more beneficial to the show than Ben. Even with a recast, he's unlikely to be more than just a filler character given his age.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Considering his mother is dead and Phil and Ian are on the show, I don't see where else Ben would go unless he's dead, sent to prison, or sent to a nuthouse. I doubt they'd try any of that with a 13 year old character for an extended period of time.

The BBC has some stupid code of ethics that all its actors must adhere to, so if it's violated, their contracts can easily be terminated. Apparently, Melissa was repeatedly warned by execs at the BBC, and they finally had enough of her.
