  1. She's more of a Dear Abby than an Anna Freud - all advice, no analysis - makes me wonder if anyone on the writing staff has been in therapy

Screwing John on a conference table is one of her least offensive actions.

While I agree, (to paraphrase Rizzo from Greece), that there are worse things she could do, it did screw up Sami for many years

  2. In other news, Marlena, who once f'ed John on a conference table during a party, in order to console him over the death of Isabella, within view of her daughter, and just last week avoided calling the same daughter to tell her that she is back from the dead because she was having canoodling in the tub, is advising Alex not to use sex as a distraction.

  3. I was confused when Belle said that she was in trial on a case.

We can assume she didn't mean Chanel's case because that was either dismissed or hasn't gone to trial.

In January it was mentioned that she and Shawn were living in South Africa helping their daughter, and we know she is not a member of the Johannesburg Bar Association.

So, is this just an unnamed litigant or have I missed some recent detail?

Also, on Friday EJ was jealous about Nicole, but today he's flirting with Belle.  Is he just an F-boy like Alex or do his emotional connections change on a dime like his Aunt Kristen?

  4. The column I loved to make fun of for having the worst editor in the world is no more 😿

Ms Hirsch was an institution to me and I read her updates every Saturday.  Whenever I made a mistake misspelling the town where Victoria Lord lived on OLTL or misremembered the names of Nick's kids on Y&R, I would recall that Lynda still called RSW's character on DAYS Zach and used the incorrect pronouns at least once per week.

The good news is that she'll now write daily, and she won't have to depend on her terrible editor.

  5. Biden's best lines at the Correspondence Dinner

They asked DeSantis if he has a mandate and he said no, I'm straight

    &

Be careful, if you find yourself confused and disoriented you're either drunk or Marjorie Taylor Greene

Also, poetic justice that Lisa Vanderpump was there when the LA Times won an award for their reporting on the CA Bar Association and Tom Girardi "who stole $750,000 of his client's money to buy a pair of earrings for his wife, and another $350,000 for the down payment on a beach house for his mistress."

It's Days so it's probably not even the silliest thing that has happen this week, but you can't even start to make it make sense.

How about that Bo was shot in the chest, but they also did brain surgery to remove the chip (that didn't require any head bandages afterward)?  Was there a two-for-one special on surgery in Greece this week?

I am not even going to ask how a brain chip plays video of an actual event on a computer lol.

This to me was hysterical.  It's like a SIM card that you just pull out of someone's brain and then stick it into your computer.  Rolf's been conning Brady because that chip was in 4K, he didn't use a colander to come up with that tech

As for Jamey's tweet about not getting approval for a happily ever after, I interpreted that as meaning that due to Megan being on contract and staying in Salem they needed a different ending and wanted something that included possibilities for future returns of Bo&Hope.  I don't think there are production execs conspiring to deliberately keep them apart.

Finally, you'd have to have ice water running through your veins not to be excited at today's cliffhanger; it was pure soapy goodness.  But, I'm calling it again, if Stephanie's anger toward Harris turns to lust while searching for Kate, I will not approve.

I don't want to victim blame especially if Colin is abusive, but I am shocked Talia is onboard with this.  This is an idiotic plan, he's an jerk, and she didn't even think about coming up with an alibi when her sister is not only a cop but also lives with her.  That's really not smart.

I think her least reasonable plan was giving up medicine because she met a cute guy with an accent.

On the other hand, Jada's assumption that Talia is lying about taking aspirin when she had a headache because she has access to other medications is absurd.  For over one hundred years aspirin has been proven to be the most effective treatment for a headache (don't let Tylenol fool ya) and doctors aren't allowed to self-prescribe.

  9. Is Sarah gone for good?  It seems like there's got to a be time where they'll use the baby to ruin Xander's love life.

Regarding Bo&Hope, I've always thought Julie liked Bo more than Hope, (she didn't go to their wedding, she didn't help out with the kids when Bo died, and Hope was terrible to her as a pre-teen), so it tracks that they would come back to see Julie once Bo RFTD.

The interesting thing about the writers pitching them chasing Megan is that they obviously did not expect long term future stories for Megan in Salem.

I feel like the time that I've been most drawn to watch the show daily was in January 2023 when the adults were having non-committed sex, there wasn't much sci-fi fantasy, and the conflicts felt more organic.  To concur with others, I think the current production limits are better suited for grounded romance and drawing room stories than these large scale make-believe plots (as evidence by the fact that the time lines don't even add up, one day in Greece has equaled three days in Salem).

But, what still annoys me about the drugged bakery plot is that nobody should leave biscuit dough at room temp for 12 hours, it has to be kept cold!

  10. Paper Magazine, which nine years ago coined the term "break the internet" with their image of Kim Kardashian, is closing.  To me, this once again calls into question whether social media discourse has any lasting effect on business profits (so Anheuser Busch can breathe a sigh of relief).  RIP Paper

He definitely defined ‘90s TV, and we’re still acutely feeling the impact of The Jerry Springer Show to this day.

It is the only talkshow that I can think of that carried on in reruns for three years after it finished production (ended production in 2018, reruns until 2021)

  12. I was thinking today about how long it will be before some of the kids currently on screen are SORASed and what their characters will be like as young adults.

On GH, I'm eager to see what Donna and Avery will be like as teens, and if they'll spark new life into the Carly and Ava feud.  It would be nice if one of Sonny's kids was more attracted to the dark side of morality and Donna could be an excellent mafia princess.  I assume given the current landscape that we'll have to wait until the Spence/Trina group evolves into marriage and careers before Donna and Avery are SORASed, so I give it four years.

On DAYS, Rachel, Holly, and Ari will make interesting teens.  Rachel could be much like a pre-teen Hope and just terrorize the town, but it would be fun if Holly was such a good girl that people would wonder who influenced her development.  Given that the DAYS cast skews toward middle age, it would be nice to introduce a teen group for next summer.

I know B&B just SORASed a kid and, I don't follow Y&R anymore so, I don't know how many kids Nick Newman has by now.

When do you think the current crop of kids will be SORASed and how do you predict their characters will turn out?

  13. The bakery biz is fickle.  One day of poor sales and Chanel can't afford Talia's salary (after they sold out of stock yesterday)?

EJ and Talia both have flashback syndrome and EJ and Nicole had the hug of doom.

DAYS has some weird messaging about consent.  Jen drugged and raped Shawn, but Belle misidentified it as cheating.  Stefan drugged EJ and Nicole, but it they think of it as the regeneration of their relationship.  And Talia drugged Nicole and Eric, but now while they dream about their shared moment of passion, she fears EJ will think she cheated.  I don't think romantic fantasies should include the inability to consent due to being under the influence of a mind-altering drug.
