What a God awful turn this story has taken!  Sonny, the "patriarch is sitting still while this is going on around him.  Never the sharpest knife and always the laziest but even he should know its time to stand up.  How could any judge entertain this frivolous legal action, especially when it's not even coming from the so called victim?

Instead of Sonny walking in on Jarly, a kangaroo trial was the better bet?   I'm sure Benard didn't want Sonny "cuckolded".  Are they going to use Sonny's bipolar as an excuse so that he is not held accountable for doing absolutely nothing to find his family?

The drama was right there!  I'm so disgusted at how bad all of this truly is.

I want to believe her about Wes so bad 😂

God me too. And on Ingo.

But I don't trust this show to deliver sooooooo .... lol. I'm pessimistic until I see them GONE.

And OF COURSE Jeff Webber now matters because of Finn and Violet. OF COURSE.

I can just appreciate that the transition between Kirkwood to Allan is not as jarring as some changes that've happened on American soaps, where it is almost instantaneous!

Very true. It's been slow and it's been interesting to see it transition.

I had a hunch we'd get Becky wanting Tony while cozying up to Diane. Darren/Nancy/Sienna all over again?

Theresa's top 5 men currently in the village

    5. Felix Westwood

    4. Shaq Qureshi

    3. Jack Osborne  - I mean, I knew she liked older men, but this was a bit much, especially coming off the recent story where she tried to set him up with Nana.

    2. Unknown

    1. ? - maybe they'll build a story around whoever it is, but if I had my way it would be Warren Fox. They had so much chemistry back in the day, which I'm just remembering was during Lucy Allan's last stint! They'll always be one of those lost chances pairings for me. Of course, it was also Lucy Allan (if I remember correctly) that Theresa had a crush on Ste before he was gay, which always makes me laugh when I remember it.

I think the show should also be putting Maxine with Sami right now. He knows she had a crush on him so it would have made much more sense he turned to her after the break up with Verity, and Fergus would still want to split them up because Sami's a lawyer and could get too suspicious about his dirty dealings. Are Sami and Verity still endgame for me? Yes, but this would be better than her chemistry-less pairing with Warren. The show has done this with Maxine before, forcing the coupling between her and Dodger who were awful, especially off the back of Dodger/Texas, who are one of my favourite Oaks couples, ever.

Now, for a bit of shameless fun, who are your top 5 hunks in the village? If it's good enough for Theresa, why not us? Of course, there's handfuls of hot men currently in the show, but challenge yourself to just 5. Poor Brody would definitely be on my list if he hadn't have perished.

    5. Felix Westwood

    4. Sami Maalik

    3. Joel Dexter

    2. John Paul McQueen

    1. Darren Osborne

That's my list too. I was digging Sami but I'm kinda digging Shaq now ... lol.

Joel is being so [!@#$%^&*] wasted. So is Celeste for that matter.

    I'd be down for Maxine/Sami

Theresa with Warren actually intrigues me for some reason! I'd be open to that

OF COURSE it had to be Johnny.. Sorry but this was the most obvious one to die..

I mean he had deep conversations all week and got way more screentime as before again.. That was such a give away tbh. I feel sorry for him.

I loved Aidan Connor and Kate with Rana...Johnny was hit or miss. He was nothing special but so damn likeable.

i don't share much personal stuff about me but when Aidan killed himself in 2018 it hit hard coz i was going through an heavy time mysellf and that story was relatable. But to see the aftermath and especially Johnny broke my heart and made me realize that life's too short to give up and to be upset.. Aidans death made me love Johnnys character more but the way Jenny treated him was lazy writing on the writers part.. Shame he's gone too.

I still wait to hear if it was his own choice or if he was let go coz his farewell video looked etremely forced tbh

Thank you for sharing your story. This can be the impact soaps have.

I think it was lazy too and obvious. I liked Johnny. I don't always keep up on the comings and goings, was this his choice to leave? It almost feels like they went back and forth on sending him away or killing him.

I think the Aidan/Eva/Toyah story really soured me on all of them. It just felt like such a different show.

I feel like the Connors are associated with a darker period on the show. Carla gets a pass but she's basically a supporting player at this point ... so many of the 'leads' from the last two decades are, which makes sense as they were fairly played out.

I haven't seen the episodes yet so I'm not sure but did they kill of Natasha too? I had a feeling it would be 'mistaken identity' ... I liked the actress but the character felt like she existed to give Nick a son. Expendable.

I put my hand up that I tend to read a lot into things that may not necessarily need to be read into but...

Considering how easy it would have been to just swap Gaston in - who is not busy as far I can tell and married to a show actress - when it all went down AND how long they have taken to recast despite the fact Chance was obviously needed in the story they had planned, they really really must not have wanted to hire Gaston long-term for some reason.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. Or they felt it would be poor optics (especially after they took heat on Gina/Michelle). But the lack of any long-term planning on Griffith's part is so noticeable. It's really shocking he's still head writing at this point.

Yep. Exactly the direction they were headed in.

The Talk actually has a decent slew of hosts now but nobody cares anymore.

Same here.  Marlena was possessed on a Monday and John finds out on a Friday.  Who's writing this? Brad Bell? LOL

Johnny's movie being the beginning of Possession 2.0 is a great idea.  Have bad things happen on set.  Maybe someone is killed, or a couple of people.  Turn it into a little bit of a murder mystery.  Maybe the mystery backer of the film is Stefano (he's still alive on the show, right? He wasn't killed off?), which would be a red herring - we only see the body but never his voice and we only see his henchmen talk to him.  And you know what would've been the perfect time to reveal the devil as the killer/mystery backer?  The Olympic cliffhanger.  Then you use those two weeks to promote that the devil is back in Salem.

    Exactly. Lots of great ideas.

And LMAO at "who's writing this? Brad Bell" ... sure feels like it at times. But then you have folks who can't be patient so it feels like we want instant gratification without waiting for it, but the inbetween is so flimsy ...

The View was almost on the verge of being canceled before they became a relevent news talk show.  They still bring on many people outside of the political realm and discuss crazy things that help keep it light for a portion of the show.  I like the mix and enjoy the the discussions on everything.  I truly wish that Ana could become a permanent host, but I guess I'll have to be happy with 2 days a week.

I agree. It was a necessity to be moved to the news division. It was struggling bad. The rotating hosts, the inability to decide on 'serious' or 'fluff' ...

Same on Ana. I love her like everyone else does. I'll take what I can get. I think she likes commuting (New York to Florida or Washington DC isn't a big deal) but I'd love her everyday.

I agree.  It was at least there, we had doctors driving story.  Now they have some promising snippets with the Hospital staff, but it gets dropped quickly and goes back to being a backdrop.

Yep. The hospital feels so hollow to me. No energy at all. They get some and then it's gone like you said. Heaven forbid we see Monica again there. Or Bobbie. But we can trot them out for the "wedding of the year" ...

Her last day on the show was August 6th. She hasn't even been off the show three months, do I think she's definitely hungry for any attention.

She really seems to be. But gotta get attention for her 'book' LOL.

Anyway, back to on-air, you could see the relationship between Whoopi and Meghan deteriorate. They tried to give Meghan room to grow but she seemed to stubbornly refuse. You could also argue she and Joy tolerated and almost liked each other at the beginning. I'm trying to figure out when it all went so sour. Meghan wanted everyone to bend to her but she clearly gave nothing back. Whoopi and Joy just gave up on her and she kept digging her heels in.

I see Eboni is wanting a gig on the show. Not a bad choice but I don't see her as 'conservative enough' and Sunny fills the attorney role on the panel. If Sunny leaves, sure.

I've been seeing some discussion on social media about how it was bad for The View to be moved under the ABC News division, but I'd argue it actually helped the show. I do wonder if they're missing 'the fun' they used to have though. Sure a lot of it was forced 'acting' or trying to cook, but I think focusing on hot topics and solid guests is a better choice. Thoughts?

The only reason I felt they wrote about the hospital was the popularity of Grey’s Anatomy and they needed an orbit of characters for Robin, because she didn’t want to be in the Sonny/Jason orbit when she returned.  The hospital had been neglected for quite some time before that.  It was like later original Monty era all over again- people were there to be treated, but the stories had little to do with GH.  I can’t remember if Guza even told another medical focused storyline after Lulu needed bone marrow before JFP arrived.  Certainly nothing that close to what Labine had been doing before.

I definitely wasn't comparing Guza's 'hospital stories' (lack there-of) to Labine's beautifully written use of it. Under Guza, it was often a backdrop to the latest mob violence or explosion or disaster but it still 'felt prominent' (for a while). I completely agree it was because Grey's was so hot at the time. I mean ... Night Shift ... they certainly "used" the hospital, if you know what I mean. Now, not so much. That's all.

Especially when they look like Matt Cedeno lol

Brandon finding Sarah sounds like a pretty good idea. It could create better conflict for Xander and Gwen as well, as opposed to this prison mess.

    Right?

Brandon's been mentioned. It's not like he's forgotten. He's mentioned more now than was for quite a while.

It also would have made sense to have Brandon come back in replacement of Eric (and Rafe). Could also play him with Sami, causing a temporary bump in the Lumi reunion.

The more I write the more it makes sense for Brandon to be here, honestly.

I'd rather have random Brandon visits than Rex ...

The best scenario: ED returns for short arcs as Kristen. Keep SH as Susan - especially with EJ, Johnny and Dr. 'MarDevil' Evans - and maybe even limited times where 'Susan as Kristen' works to move story forward as during ED gaps. Certainly, Susan/Kristen teaming up via Kristen manipulation has been well-established.

For those who say 'Kristen has committed too many crimes' to be on canvas, Ben Weston says 'hi' ☠️

I would love this. It would be unique to do and such a DAYS thing when you think about it. Would be fun and lessen the load on both actresses.

Preach on Ben Weston. I see women don't get the same 'pass' as a hot guy with abs.

It would have made so much more sense for Johnny to already be making his film (a student film, not a real movie with this cast he’s using), and all that stirs up Marlena.  Maybe have her sit on that stupid bench and have flashbacks of Roman and Sami’s reactions to the affair.  No Possession flashbacks, just the early emotional part, they could even just use the voiceovers so we don’t have to see fake Roman mumble his way through fake flashbacks.  Then Doug starts having his issues, and her memories morph to maybe hearing Stefano’s voice as a red herring.  Then we can fast forward to where we kind of are now.

It’s my biggest pet peeve with the soaps since the mid 2000’s- they keep forgetting that anticipation and building story leads to the climax.  The only reason Ron did this with Robin was because Kimberly wouldn’t return for longer than a few appearances here and there to keep the story going.  He always skips ahead inning stories like this and then it always feels like a scramble to pull it off.

    This

You also could have added in Johnny getting his funding from 'mystery sources' which could/could not lead somewhere.

The story structure is very flimsy. It's like we're seeing the idea come together on screen instead of on the page at times. Like this movie story.

The movie aspect is a good idea to stir up these memories and open that door again but the setup was terrible.

Ron's not invested in the 'movie aspect'. It's merely a backdrop to play out his history-baiting.

Whether by choice, or lack there-of, he misses a lot of opportunities to tell even a slightly better story. The Possession 2.0 stands out as 'great' because the rest of the show is so hollow.

Haha maybe. There's still so much that they could do with her.

Too bad they're not bringing Brandon back for Abe's anniversary episode

    Right?

Matt Cedeno likely wouldn't say no IMO. I'm really surprised Ron hasn't brought him back truthfully. He loves randomly bringing folks back (a thing I like about him I guess).

Brandon should be finding a washed up Sarah on some beach ...

You could literally see how relieved and lighter Whoopi, Joy, Sara, Sunny and Ana were to start the season. Meghan was nothing but an albatross. She's not missed by the audience and I'm sure the cast and crew aren't shedding any tears over her.

Exactly. You could just feel it.

I hadn't realized until Meghan's appearance on WWHL that her memoir is an Audible Exclusive (aka no reputable publishing house wanted to give her a contract).  I had wondered how she turned around her story so quickly after being dismissed, as it turns out it was because there was no editing required.  I remain as unimpressed by her autobiography as I am with her follow up to The View being a contract to write articles for the Murdoch's the Daily Mail UK.

She's desperate to remain relevant. It says a lot no one wants to publish her book. I bet her mother Cindy McCain could get a book published ...

Mike Manning as Steven Hawk! 😂😂

I'm a little on the fence about bringing another long lost Dimera sibling though. Maybe they should bring Megan back from the dead 😂 or give Tony or Andre a long lost daughter.

    Paging Greta ... LOL

I wish Cassie had stayed a DiMera. In my fantasy world Rex and Cassie were Andre's.

Tony couldn't have knocked up someone on the island and his pretty gorgeous Asian/Island-descent daughter arrives to stir up trouble ... Anna's reactions alone would be a delight.

And she's with Mike Horton. And she's a doctor.

    If only.

I'd make an exception and let Mike Manning be cast in another role. I like the idea.

EDIT: Scratch Mike, though I want him back. She'd be with Brandon who would also come back.
