I don't have any ill will towards Genie either. It was a bit annoying for viewers that she kept extending, but she was very clear. She is Laura. To me there is no comparison between her and Storm's absences. Again, I wish the best for Storms and her family, but it might be time to cut the losses with her. If she returns in a month or so I'll eat my words. If I were Kirsten or GH, I would have made a very brief statement about her needed some personal time off. That's it. Very understandable But she went on instagram and made a couple of videos saying I am moving, I need 6 months off, I am still on contract, no recast, and I MIGHT be back by November. Could you imagine any employer letting you do that? Lol

I would say KS's many absences are a bigger issue than the others. Kelly, Pullos, and JJ are gone and they were more isolated incidents as far as time off regardless of reasons. Kirsten has taken years off. She owes me no explanation, but when she openly says I am getting 6-7 months to move and staying on contract while doing so it does look like preferential treatment. -especially when there is a story happening where she is quite relevant. Idk, Genie stalling the Cassadine story was annoying. But she is Laura. Maxie can be recast. And Genie was very transparent about her extended maternity leave. I am not saying it's right, but it's a lot more believable than I need a year off for endometriosis, weeks off for psoriasis, and half a year to move across the country. I do wish Kirsten the best and it's not my place to judge. I personally would have ditched her years ago even if Maxie did have a great renaissance these last few years. I could just be a very mean and cynical person though lol.

Yeah, I don't think Beemer is the best actor in the world although it's always been so odd to me that no one utilizes him. It's not one specific regime that has no idea what to do. It's been 20 years lol. They really hard ended Jada/Rafe, so I assumed it would move into Jada/Shawn with Belle/Phillip/EJ being around. I don't have strong personal feelings about Rafe, but it's also strange they keep GG around and do very little with him. Since budget is a constant issue I would think you would cut him until there was an actual story for him.

Who even knows what's going on with KS? Lol. I was getting confused with them switching her and the pinch hitter Maxie out at different times. GH is awful at Friday cliffhangers. So it you are binge watching it's probably okay. If you are live watching I would question why they ended with something memorable on Tuesday, but Jason's staring out a window on Friday lol.

AK and DF do have chemistry. I guess my biggest issue with Stephanie is that she has a full plate of love interests already-and they hire more lol. She has four current exes/bf's on the canvas-Phillip, Chad, Jeremy, and Alex. So that really has nothing to do with going with chemistry or the believability of Cat/EJ, but more my dislike of Stephanie getting another man while someone like Jada gets nothing. Maybe if they allow Shawn to appear again Jada will get action.

I don't need another baby story for several years, but I thought there was an idea there when she told Chad "James" was her old boyfriend, Chad kept seeing Rafe's texts, and Rafe/James left her food. It could have been dropped. EJ paying for a date with Cat and hiring her as an assistant should lead somewhere too. It's hard to tell. The show might just be exploring options. I am surprised ALM is staying because of the awful storyline, but I'd probably stay even if my only job was to clean Deidre Hall's dressing room so I can't fault her.😂

Yes, so we agree on all lol. I think GH could have done a better job building more of Britt's secret, held Nathan until KS was able to return, or even worked out block filming for her. I have accused GH of being boring and having no cliffhangers fairly recently (mostly pre-Drew's villain turn), but now it's like GH has so many "big" things happening everything is getting lost in the shuffle. There's a real pacing problem. It's either too much or too little. It's more a serious of events than organic story telling, but most soaps have this issue currently.

I love the more mature version of Spixie. I know a lot of it's on Bradford's schedule and whatever Storms is doing, but the couple finally wasn't bouncing off walls with hyperactivity and weird nicknames and it basically became a D story lol. Spinelli is finally acting like a responsible adult and father and the show cares nothing about it. To me having Britt come back and then Nathan in a matter of weeks kills the impact, if that makes sense? Sure, I assume it's connected, but it such a small group people reacting to it that it lessens the importance. Great for Liesel that she has both her dead kids back, but have we seen her since she broke up with Scott a few years ago? Thanks! I remember people being sad about him dying, but outside of Storms doing some decent work with Nathan's death, I barely recall any of it.

Were Nathan and Maxie even that popular? I remember liking it fine but not being terribly invested. I have no idea what fans on other platforms think lol. I swear some strange characters have large fanbases that I don't understand at all. Again, Nathan and Chase are the same person to me so what do I know?

I could see Cat being pregnant too, but I was thinking Rafe would say he's the father. Rafe loves pretending to be kid's fathers and GG hasn't had anything to do in months. EJ has multiple things going on.

I mean, we can insert a joke about Paevey's acting here, but I think he's acting the same? I remember Nathan and some of his stories, although the character and the actor never made an impression on me. If he's going for sinister, I am not getting that either. I have doubts he can play a scary villain. This is probably where Maxie being involved would help. She would notice the difference perhaps. I never thought bringing Nathan back was necessary under any circumstances, but I am especially bummed for Spinelli. I really like Spixie and all the years he helped raised James will be wiped away because his "real" father is back. With Storms out and BA's minimal appearances Spinelli will probably get two days of perspective about this and we won't seem him for months lol.

Again, if Britt played the whole return like she had a terrible secret that she can't bear to tell anyone I could buy it. Even some Days of our lives inner monologue thought about how no one would respect me anymore because it's so awful. But KT plays it like I am back. Where's Brad with my party?

@titan1978 You make some great points about Tony and Luke/Laura. Some of Geary's feelings were correct about the pairing. I think the way he spoke about Luke and the Luke/Laura pairing had a bitterness or ungratefulness to it. To me, there is just a sadness that it all ended the way it did. Tracy gets the main perspective on Luke, Laura has an off screen marriage and spends time holding Sonny's hand, and it feels like the pairing has been wiped out. I know the optics of the pairing greatly changed over time, but it is sad how it all ended. I am glad Laura is happy and thriving and I suppose there is little you can do with Tony gone. Like you stated, you could move on from the pairing without trashing everything that came before. And before anyone comes at me about how disgusting it is that Laura was with her rapist. I totally get that point of view. I still believe there could have been a more solid conclusion to the pairing and I don't think current day Laura is used properly.

Yes! She always looks vaguely sickly like when I look when I have to pay my mortgage or something. Sad, but not devastated. Just pissed she has to deal with life. KT would probably kill it in a life insurance add. But I am sure FauxMolly has that already lined up and we will see it for the next 10 years like her psoriasis commercial

I remember it mostly the same. There were maybe some implied statements by Luke, but it wasn't until he was dealing with broom wig Laura in the sanitarium that it started to be a real thing.

Everyone is free to correct me, but IIRC the late 90's/early 2000's Felicia situation it was more Luke feeling boxed in domesticity. Not that he cheated on Laura regularly. The prostitute/contempt stuff started with Jacob's Lucky and the Summer triangle. I know, no one wants to recall that. I am not even sure what they are doing with Britt. She's not a likable human in any capacity. I think the show might be going for Bickersons Jason/Brenda banter, but I am not sure. There isn't really a softness there that makes me think she likes Jason or anyone for that matter. She looks off to the distance sadly sometimes, but I get nothing else. And even when she does something nice like save Joss from Heather she wants something ridiculous in return. Her COS job should be hers, she should have a penthouse, everyone should be happy she exists.

Carly was written uglier, but with a background that was believable. You could feel her hurt and wanting for acceptance even if she made horrible decisions. She was your underdog. Britt's mean to be mean. She has no layers. She just feels entitled all the time. I haven't been able to multi quote for at least a few weeks. It's not just you lol

I don't even think it has to be mentioned. If she was specifically talking to Laura, Alexis, or Trina, I suppose? I can't recall NAC's Spencer ever bringing up the relationship and I don't think we should bring it up again to say guess how great Britt is with kids lol. I know she sucked with Emma, but Ben/Rocco? Spencer? She's practically Mother Theresa.

I don't think you could even imagine a world in 1997 where LULU and LUCKY were treated with such disdain, but the red carpet is rolled out for Britt and Nathan. Idk, if you developed Britt like Carly who was riddled with insecurities I could see it. But Britt's a dr, who has a full family, and people that endlessly defend her. She's a jerk to be a jerk. She complains about everything from her free housing to her "horrible" job while she's literally explains nothing about her fake death or what her agenda is. KT is a very unlikeable actress, but when she thinks people "owe" her suites at the Metro Court I get lost. It's not cute, likable, or funny.

I would definitely be mad when the magazines weren't stocked at the correct time.

This isn't the Luke/Lucky scene but I figured it was more bang because it includes Mac, Felicia and Brenda's reactions. Ignore Lily. Luke's at the end. When Robin said something just shifted and I knew he was gone it was so real. This is also why I defend Maurice to this day lol. So I don't get yelled at because this is the current thread. Emma is currently awesome and I love her. ETA this channel has most of the Stone illness scenes and the next day when Lucy/Kevin and Lucky/Luke talk.
