The problem is the show, as of this moment, is making it seem like Jagger and Sonny have this lifelong rivalry and Jagger has been carrying this anger for years and years. And that's pretty sad for Jagger because Sonny hasn't probably thought about Jagger in decades like the rest of the audience. I'll give John and the new writing a chance, but it seems a bit one sided at this point.

I agree all those things are true. But Jagger can harp on these facts all day long-it's over. Sonny was horrible and he should be called out on his actions, but how many times a week does Jagger need to do it? It's basically the only thing he talks about as of now. To me this seems more about Jagger's own regrets about Karen/Stone than Sonny.

That along with Jax burning the results of the illness Brenda might have really signaled there was no way Brenda was dead. I honestly can say I preferred a montage to an actual funeral in this case. Watching this made me remember how much I loved Jason and Robin and there was a time SBu did not annoy me.

I really don't understand why Stefan didn't just go to EJ before he had to shoot a man. It seems like EJ would have helped him even if he'd want something in return. I'll be honest, until the very end, it felt like Wendy and Tripp having been doing these same scenes for episodes now. It's not very interesting, but they aren't very interesting even while kidnapped and facing death. I guess it was nice to see Lucas. I wonder if he is going to find the key to the time capsule in his books. Not much to say about today. Pretty dull. I completely zoned out during the Ava, John, Steve scenes lol.

No, didn't even mention it. The only thing she said about Julia at all was in one conversation with Sonny and she mentioned she couldn't go to Julia for help when she had all her European Balkan issues. She didn't say why she couldn't go to Julia, but the way it was said made it seem like they weren't very close. In 2002, I don't believe Julia was mentioned at all and I have no idea how she even found out Brenda was alive lol. During that whole weird era where the Bill Eckert and Julia stuff was being floated around Sonny called Brenda to ask some things about Julia/Barrett Industries and although it was obviously a one sided convo, it did seem like she at least knew what Julia was currently doing. Julia also sold Barrett Industries years ago, so there's that.

I sort of assumed the decision was mutual on both ends. Steve knew Harris wasn't ever going to be the star of Days. He was just paying the bills until he'd be allowed back to GH. I would assume SBu knew his contract was up and put feelers out and the deal with GH was done before he was even let go on Days. Just my thoughts. Even if Steve was canned unexpectedly, I doubt he's too torn up about now lol. During the vaccine mandate era and scarier times, I never, ever thought we'd seen the last of Burton or Jason on GH. Unlike Ingo, who we will never see again, Steve was rather low key about the whole thing.

I feel like Days probably just needed the extra money and Harris is a pretty dead end character. Although once they got rid of Steve, Harris is now doing more than ever lol. I always wondered if Ingo intentionally tried to drop his accent. I still say Jax has more purpose on the show then Jagger, but I don't really need him either. I also wouldn't mind, if say, Jax got ill or injured off screen and Joss had to go to Australia to care for him for a long while. Years even lol. Well, my apologies to Mr. Kober, but I do not like this choice lol. I could see it working for some characters, but I find it obnoxious on Cyrus. Not that he cares what I think though.

I always enjoyed that montage (obviously). I thought it was a great way to show how much Brenda's death affected so many people in the town, without showing a funeral. I also liked the touch of Jax going around town telling people she died in person. So often characters find out about death's off screen or over the phone. I wish in Brenda's recent returns we could at least hear Brenda/Julia were close off screen. The only mentions of Julia made it seem like her and Brenda either fell out of touch or weren't close.

As much as I rag on Jason and think he's played out, I do think he belongs on the canvas more than people like Drew and Finn. I guess I just prepared myself for Steve to eventually be back, so I've made my peace with it. I know how to spell Brook Lynn, but I always want to add an "e" to the end of Brook because it just looks weird without an e when I am spelling it. I have the same urge with Brook Kerr. AH would have made a perfectly fine Jax. I could probably even deal with no Australian accent to be honest. Ingo's Australian accent had diminished significantly throughout the years anyhow. It just disappeared entirely since he was away. I'd buy it lol. I can't believe Cyrus has been on the canvas this long. I feel like I have been over him for at least a year. JK may be great, but I just can't stand the way he speaks and delivers his lines. Why does he speak them so slowly and drawn out like the people he is having conversations with are young children or mentally disabled or something?

I would probably wear that sweater, tbh lol. I just don't think such oversized and intentionally distressed clothing looks that good on screen for anyone because some viewers probably think she's really just wearing a sloppy sweater when it's actually probably pretty expensive and absolutely meant to look that way. Not the worst of her outfits by far though.

This is the most fascinating thing I've heard in a while. Combining my love of soaps and figure skating? It would be my dream come true. I don't think there would be much other interest outside of myself in the audience and I struggle to see Amy/Scott together. Would they ice skate together? Or just share their love of figure skating and the Olympics to bond them? Would evil Russians try to thwart the athletes from America and Amy/Scott would have to save the integrity of the Olympic Games? Even if it's a rumor, I can say it's the best thing I have heard today.😂

Personally, I see some good things, but it's hard to be sure. It's been such a short period of time and there is also a huge return mixed in. I am optimistic. Some characters do seem to be having more meaningful discussions. @Liberty CityMaxie sweater bothered me! I am sure it's probably cute in person, but it looked ratty and boxy on screen. But...it's Maxie. At least she had intelligent dialogue for once.

Stefan ran out of the room because Harris told him to. Goldman came in, assumed Harris was dead, and was shocked to find him alive and went to make a move on him before the nurse came in. The first scene of them today is a shortened repeat of their last scene on Friday. I do as well lol. It's not a change in plans. There never was a plan as far as I can tell

DAYS: March 2024 Discussion Thread
Yeah I was thinking that. Even the way that Marlena, Lani, Abe were moving around the hospital bed today made it seem like no one was directing them where to stand today lol. It's either that or the show never really had any idea about Everett and were just making the story up as they went along.

I think Jackee is probably just more comfortable doing the comedy and OTT stuff because that's what made her famous. Or maybe it's a bit like Deidre Hall and she just settled into a campy style for whatever reason. It could even be the lack of direction, vibe, or fast pace of soaps now. I'll have to look up some of her work on AW though.

I have always thought Ava would work better coming in and out of the show to cause trouble for certain arcs. It would save everyone a lot of trouble trying to fit Ava in places she doesn't belong. I can also understand if you land Maura West you want to use her as much as possible. People probably won't agree, but the "nicer" Ava becomes the more I feel like Ava/Nina become very similar characters and then both of them are similar to Carly. It's one too many flawed heroines in the same age range on the same show dealing with the same core group.

I don't think there's anything that rules her out either. I wouldn't care if some details were changed to move story and I do think it would be a good twist for Ava. But as everyone knows, I don't have much affinity to MW/Ava, so her going back to her evil ways works for me. I always figured Austin's death would just tie back to Cyrus because everything does lol.

My question is does anyone care who killed Austin still? That's not me being snarky, but a serious question. I know it's still brought up, but there isn't a lot of urgency there on the show to figure it out lol. I definitely don't think initial idea was for it to be Ava because it seems to clearly be a male. I wouldn't care if the show just changed it and made it Ava though.

I have long suspected Everett would somehow be tied to Nick, but the lack of anyone noticing the resemblance until now threw me off. I wonder if they re-worked the direction of this story. Honestly, with the glacial pace this story moved at in the beginning, I am wondering if they just hired Blake Berris first and Ron was just writing this story on the fly. I don't know if I can explain how I feel about the story, but it's never felt like it's had a solid direction in the way the other stories on the canvas do. I don't think Jackee is a great dramatic actress at all. I think she's much better at comedic or OTT moments. I am pretty used to her delivery now, so the Marlena/Paulina scenes were fine to me, but I still don't think this type of material is Jackee's strong suit. I barely even think of the logistics of this Clyde stuff because it makes no sense neither Ava nor Stefan can get rid of Clyde with all their connections.

I feel like this HP convo becomes circular very quickly every time we have it. Some people feel the way @Vee and I do. Some feel the complete opposite. I totally understand. No one is saying what HP did wasn't absolutely awful and we all want her to pay for her crime and get help and we wish the victims well. I believe I used the word "mistake" and perhaps crime would have been more accurate.

Gina was adopted by a wealthy family and was embarrassed by her upbringing. It was Brenda that visited her and tried to get her to reunite with Jagger and help find Mike/Stone. She ends up being slightly receptive, but still wants to keep her distance. I think Jagger, Stone, and Gina were full siblings. Jagger was just the oldest. I can't recall hearing anything otherwise and the good old internet lists them as full siblings. Gina was just supposed to be a bit younger (Nikki Cox doesn't really look that young, but...) and got adopted fairly quickly. Their family makeup is a bit confusing just because I don't think we get a lot of clarity on why the parents left or how long Jagger was raising them before CPS got involved. Yeah, I don't know if Karen was 100% cool with it all, but she had moved on with her life and John and Scotty act like Sonny was the one that killed her. Sonny was absolutely wrong, but Karen made a decent life for herself no thanks to Jagger either!

Exactly. I have to say I enjoyed the Maxie/Spinelli and Maxie/Felicia scenes. Everyone had a very strong point of view and no one was really wrong. I find the Tracy/Gregory stuff not exactly interesting, but I do like the way the actors are playing it. We need to move Alexis out of the mix because I actually don't find that portion of the triangle to be exciting at all. I will never understand why Lucy/Kevin/Scott are on this show currently and they do nothing with Christina (or Serena, but that's been said to death here).
