...or they'll just pass it off as being utterances from that liberal NYC. If they wanted right-leaning views they should've set up MOTS interviews in Staten Island. ...but then, they'd have been far from the actual Macys fireworks display. Oh well, those snowflakes at NBC will just have to deal, or take a road trip out to S.I. next time.

I know a few people had some questions on busing and what it meant culturally to integrate schools. This late 70s documentary (that shows up every few years on PBS) narrated by Bill Moyers about a black family integrating a Queens, NY neighborhood might shed further light on what this entails.

Netflix: One Day at a Time
I think we may be seeing more of these types of jumps -- from streaming to a network--in the future. CBS All Access quietly decided to run the first couple seasons of the streaming platform's most popular, highly acclaimed series The Good Fight on CBS network during the summer. It will be interesting to see what the results are considering how different TGF is from CBS' usual fare and also the fact that being on a streaming platform has allowed TGF to take a lot more risks in the writing and characterizations than the traditional CBS network series. Cable, I would imagine would be a more seamless transition from streaming, considering the risks cable has already been taking with its shows for decades.

For some strange reason, I was expecting this. There was just something about Bridget Kelly's tone after that initial trial that said this matter was far from over.

You think a race between Biden and Trump will be civil? I think you'll be in for a surprise on that one. Also, comparing Biden's debate performances from 2008 and last night, it's clear that Trump will be salivating over the chance to debate Biden. I'll vote for whomever is the presumptive nominee but I think that on the civility issue, that genie has already left the bottle.

It's evident in the way that Eric Trump has already retweeted (before deleting) troll army tweets that are trying to spread birther-ist conspiracy takes about Harris.

Tennis industry media et al., trots out the same punditry, tired think-pieces and click-baity headlines, then wonders why the sport won't grow. I think I'll skip reading all of it for awhile. Maybe then I'll be able to watch the sport with some measure of peace and perhaps enjoyment.

Yeah, I saw that leak about Joe Biden. Also, certain members of the press mentioned that all of the other candidates stayed after the debate to answer questions from various media/press but Joe left rather quickly, saying that he was tired. One woman on Twitter stated that her Aunties were excited about Harris and would rather vote for her but don't trust that white people will vote for her and so, think Biden is the safe choice. I think that's very sad. It's also what many black people were saying about Obama early in the primaries. I remember watching The View (yes, I used to watch that show) and Sheri Shephard said she was voting for Hillary Clinton in the primary, because she felt she knew Hillary better since Hillary had been the Senator from New York, but more importantly, she doubted Obama could win in a general election. She wasn't alone. That time reminded me of this situation with Harris and Biden. After the first round, it just seems clear that Harris, Warren and Castro delivered the strongest debate performances. It's a shame that they are still being judged as somehow being less than electable than the guys who clearly had lesser presentations by criteria that is loopier than Williamson's debate answers.

Busing kids from their neighborhood, usually across a lengthy distance to another neighborhood to attend school. Most often it tended to be black kids and many of the interactions toward those kids were hostile as many white parents did not want change.

Kamala Harris was the first one to have mentioned the Voting Rights Act, there were no questions from the moderators on this issue. Neither on gerrymandering. I realize that there are many candidates on the stage in these debates but the fact that a candidate has to bring up an issue to give it relevance is incredible.

Netflix: One Day at a Time
Congrats to ODAAT for finding a new platform! It's interesting that Pop ultimately provided the platform. Interesting irony, like I mentioned previously, that Schitt's Creek started out on U.S. television being exclusively on Pop before also being streamed on Netflix. The entertainment industry is something else! I do think content creators, especially the big-wigs will be looking to get more flexibility from Netflix in the future. There is an increasing divide between the showrunners (the big name ones expecially) and the writers who are paid scale in terms of working out these packaged agreements. It has become an increasingly sore subject and it does encompass agreements worked out with streamers as well as network. It's going to be interesting to see what the future of these type of agreements look like.

The Wimbledon spokesperson's response seems pretty weak. If the ITF made the standards for even qualifying as a professional tennis player more exacting and rigorous, making it more difficult for many to even get a ranking, let alone qualify for Challengers, then there should at least be better prize money and facilities for those who do qualify to play. France has some of the best equipped and organized Challenger tournaments. Many have facilities that are truly up to professional quality standard and some rival or best most ATP 250 tournaments but it's clear that Challenger tournaments in France get support from the French government. In the U.S., some Challengers are located at the site of country clubs and have facilities that look nice (although some are still inadequate to support an actual tournament in multiple players that need to play simultaneous matches) but there are a few U.S. based Challengers that have poor facilities, courts that are unfit and inadequate amount of staff and I was shocked to see that some of the worst facilities in the U.S. required entrance fees from the players!

The consensus last night was that Elizabeth Warren presented herself as the front-runner of the group. To those who have been following her/paying attention, what Warren said last night has been pretty consistent with what she's been saying all along. It's no surprise. The consensus seemed to be that Julian Castro did actually surprise. If his strategy was to distinguish himself over many of the other candidates, especially his fellow Texan Beto O'Rourke, it appears that he accomplished that last night. Although Gabbard made some good points about the Pentagon and the rush to war, I still find her shifty. Also, for some reason, this made me chuckle.
