Didn’t Higley do a blackout recently

This sounds identical to Higley & Quan's debut.  This does not feel like an homage, it's plagiarism lol.

Despite her "personality," I'm devastated about losing Missy, but look forward to seeing Cady next week.

And RC has been heavily relying on Shelle since their return this summer . . . they're being used very effectively and I hope Brandon & Martha finally get treated better.

  2. I think that RC has mostly been good for "Days," esp. following Griffith & Higley.  But he has crazy missed the mark on whatever attempt he thinks he's making at current events/seriously important social movements.  Last year, they literally made a soapy, funny joke out of #MeToo on "Chad and Abby in Paris."  And while I thought JJ/Theo was a powerful, compelling STORYLINE (though totally plot-driven), it wasn't JUST a storyline.  It was impossible not to read it as social commentary and the fact that anyone in charge of this show thought a Blue Lives Matter storyline was a good idea.......... I'll leave that there.

They should not be touching this with a ten foot pole.  Tripp will likely be vindicated and, again, there's no way to not read this as social commentary on #MeToo, women accusing men, blurry consent, etc.  These are conversations we should be having with our friends and family, and in a larger social, legal platform . . . but the messaging from a soap with a BAD track record with this stuff will never move this forward in any positive way.  It'll be the exact opposite outcome.  It's reckless and irresponsible.  And if it isn't and Tripp is guilty . . . holy $hit, what a waste of Lucas Adams AGAIN.  If they actually write and produce an effective date rape story, the perp shouldn't be a character played by an actor with his potential.  Just my opinion.

  3. This Tripp/Allie story absolutely shouldn't be happening.  It will be mishandled and is completely irresponsible at any time, but esp. now.

I've been enjoying "Days" for most of the year . . . but since summer when there was an obvious shift, I agree with lots of others that it has REALLY improved with the cast and story changes.  However, imo, it has felt kinda aimless . . . there are a lot of great beats played with the right characters, but I see very few real stories.  The show is in a serious state of transition that's working, but there has to be a long-term plan.

This may be unpopular, but the only return that isn't working for me is shockingly and disappointingly JKJ as Philip.  He's great with Belle & Shawn still, but his scenes with literally everyone else (including Lauren Koslow and John Aniston!) seem just sorta "off" . . . I hope this turns around because we've all been wanting this for nearly ten years.  Also, the beat they shockingly didn't play during JPL's stint was Philip/Claire.  I can't believe RC has Phil "protecting Belle's family" and they haven't acknowledged this super important, character-defining connection.  The other elephant in the room is no one mentioning Sydney (except Sami, and it was honestly glazed over) amidst this lovely Nicole/Allie relationship.  I mean what the actual F?!?  lol

Back in 2001, Victor instructed Gene that he wanted revenge on Wesley's for wrongfully accusing Phillip of raping Chloe and embarrassing him. What exactly did Victor do to get back at Craig/Nancy? Unless I forgot don't ever remember this playing out on-screen.

Gene Brisco!  I loved how there were so many ancillary characters back then, that we actually saw and had speaking roles--Gene, Marie, and Henderson for Titan/Victor, Eliana for Stefano, the blonde waitress at the Brady Pub, Dr. Bader and Nurse Brenda who always gave Sami a hard time at University Hospital, etc. etc. etc.

  5. Langan was knee-deep in who's the daddy.  Between Greta, Chloe, and, of course, Zach.  And I think it was always obvious Abe would be revealed as Brandon's father.  The most disappointing was never finding out about Greta, who I guess confirmed John wasn't her father when she left.  The Greta character had a lot of disappointments, from that to dropping her & Austin . . . I think it was a big mistake to dump her after the Jack debacle because she had SO much story left and was a breath of fresh air, esp. during that period, despite some extreme writing with being a forever virgin and Virtual Eden.  I'm surprised RC didn't bring her out for the recent Gina mess.

But Craig being Chloe's father was total WTFery.  And frankly, so was Bo being Zach's father.  I LOVED Brash & Cwikly, but those were two sloppy retcons to make fans happy.

Y’all need to listen to Heather’s podcast! She has Carole on and this is the most real behind the scenes podcast I’ve heard for a housewife! I just am maybe 15 minutes in and Heather is talking about Luann offering her a joint and heavy drugs on the St Barth’s trip. Also she talks about hiding Sonja, Luann and the pirate doing heavy drugs from the producers. These two are *so* real and it literally sounds like two friends having a private conversation.

Thank you!  This was amazing!  I always loved their friendship . . . prob. my all-time fav. on RHoNY.

Teddi is being BLASTED for her All In eating disorder program. Clients are revealing screenshots of texts and it looks BAD. One lady said she couldn’t get a period for almost 3 years after the program. if you click the link it’s a full thread with receipts. Damn! Denise needs to return and the girls need to give Teddi a taste of her own medicine and make this the storyline.

Also, keyboard warrior Teddi is silent of course. Kyle has been all over fans mentions attacking them for revealing this. She’s also attacking Camille for retweeting it lol.

    OH $H!T!

Okay I’m glad yall see what I see. I didn’t wanna feel crazy lol. I mean she did good, but hardly the type of breakout star I can see them giving a huge raise.

LUANN did this right before s6 started filming and we all know what happened.  Unless BRAVO is really hedging their bets on her revitalizing the show (which they probably aren’t), she ain’t gonna get what she wants.  She deserves more, but she should take the positive response and recognition it’s giving her brand and take what she can negotiate before they say, “forget it.”

  9. I think it was too hot in the kitchen for Missy.  This isn’t unlike her.  She definitely didn’t get fired, though.  This IS convenient for “Days.”  Commuting with new grandchildren during COVID likely weighed heavily in this decision.  But someone has to pay the Reeves’ bills, which is probably the only reason she’s continued commuting all these years.  Cady isn’t my first choice but this is a “get.”  If they’re committed to keeping J&J, this could be a great opportunity for the character... they’ll no longer have to work around Missy’s schedule or her anti-Peter antics.  Still, as disturbing as it is to separate Missy’s “beliefs” from Jennifer, this is still heartbreaking for me.  She as Jennifer represents such an integral part of this show and its legacy.

  10. I know Missy is problematic but this is devastating for me.  J&J are my favorite couple and I think Jenn (and her kids) has been the heart of the show for years now.  There’s no one better to be Alice’s legacy and Missy as Jenn feels so right in the Horton home.  I’m afraid Cady is there for a wrap-up, too.  If that’s the case, I’m devastated for Matt and hate the thought of losing Jack, who’s being used the most effectively since maybe 2002.  If they will be written out, with Hope gone, now is the time to bring back Melissa and/or Mike.  But hopefully they’ll keep J&J and if COVID calms down, Missy will return.  Ken has an open door policy for her obviously.

  11. Sonja obviously wants Tinsley to worship her because she “got her on the show.”  Lol.  What’s not funny is that Sonja actually believes that.  She’s delightful and I usually love her, but just because her publicist or whoever convinced her to reel in her rather psychotic delusions on camera, doesn’t mean she’s not still that way.  And she’s cute about it but she’s pretty scathing in her interviews and behind the others’ backs, which is something she hated about Carole.

I would agree with this. I think Denise is problematic as a HW. I'm not sure she would have lasted next year because of her need to control the narrative. And let's face it, the Aaron stuff is a little bit crazy!

OTOH, all the other HWs on BH are basically running production, and that's the problem. They have too much power because they can shut sh*t down and get things re-edited (or edited out) the way THEY want.

If there is one person who isn't necessarily doing that, it is Garcelle. She knows production did her dirty by cutting some of her stuff which would have contextualized certain situations. That's why she wearily gave one-word answers this reunion. She feels used and she is over it.

Similarly, I would argue that Denise blatantly lying at reunion -- and doesn't care who knows it -- is because she is done with production's agenda against her. So she is turning the tables on the whole system.

I feel like I am Team Denise partly by default. The Coven are acting like sleeping with Brandi and not 'owning up' to it is akin to the Watergate cover-up. It is not. That is why the entire viewing audience absolutely despise them.

I'm not sure if Bravo realise but what happened with BH this season and production's hand having been exposed... it's in danger of killing the RH franchises.

I don't know how Denise could have come back.  She already has such a chip on her shoulder and Aaron is obviously not going to behave and Denise would never let the other women and production come for him a la PK.  The other women are totally blowing this out of proportion; everyone knows they don't give a f about Brandi . . . very early in the season after the fallout from Denise's pizza party, they decided they were gonna take her down.  Plain and simple.  This has Kyle's dirty hands all over it--SHE dragged in Kim and Brandi!  And Teddi, Erika, and Rinna gleefully cosigned.  Out of some really misplaced paranoia and insecurity, Erkia and Teddi felt Denise was coming for them . . . and then Brandi "confirmed" it.  (They all have reason to take issue with Aaron, though . . . and from experience, Erika does NOT play with the $h!t.  And she shouldn't.) Rinna, otoh, just sold the last bit of soul she had left to betray Denise and not be left out of this year's A story.  Really shameful, and I used to love her.

I loved Garcelle for Garcelle.  Admittedly, I don't think she was necessarily the best modern hw because she clearly didn't get very invested and she was mostly doing her own thing.  (Probably why she was so likable!  LOL)  She reminded me of the earlier seasons that focused more on the 'wives individually.  But it was disappointing at the reunion (so far) that she's letting the other women get away with their $h!t because she understands how the editing and production is . . . kinda against her, esp. with Rinna.  She's rolling her eyes instead of setting the record straight.

But this has been an eye-opening year with BRAVO to say the least.  As many have already mentioned, Dorinda/John/Scott/Tinsley is a big, if not the biggest, offender.  While it only cut out a scene of psycho drama from s11, not including it framed the s12 drama totally differently re. Dorinda's character, her relationship and breakup with John, and viscous feud with Tinsley.  Leaving that out was HUGE and I didn't think they'd do that for anyone except Bethenny.  It makes you see how much they can distort the story . . . and if Tinsely didn't finally blow this truth bomb, would it NEVER have come up???  LOL.

This kind of reminds me Teresa/Caroline on NJ.  When they went to Punta Cana in s3, Joe got in a fight with someone at a bar and Caroline's sons, Albie and Chris, started beating this guy up with Joe.  The guy sued them, the production company, and BRAVO.  While that was never brought up probably because of legal issues, it was obviously the real basis for Caroline starting to hate Teresa . . . and to this day no one can bring it up.  Ugh omg lol.

It's a good point about the PPP loans...but restaurants, especially high end restaurants, usually operate on a knife's edge of profitability that would render her businesses gutted. And the PPP, the little I know of it, isn't a never ending source of money (it's got a 24 week cap on it) and as California has had long lockdown periods that start, stop, and star again as Covid-19 cases surge, it would hardly make a dent in the losses between rent, supply contracts, insurance, and employees.

Really, the hospitality industry is the #1 economic casualty, and LVP's type of restaurant is atop that heap.

Oh totally, they wouldn't save her.  But if they applied for and received the loans, I'm just curious how they spent them.  I will admit to being totally biased in my suspicion of restaurant/bar owners--I worked in the service industry for nearly seven years and, from my experience as a non-management employee, that industry is SHADY AF (with the worker always getting screwed).  Ultimately, I know it's a "hate the game, not the player" situation--the service industry in America is designed for owners to pass the real salary of their employees to the customer via tips and unless you're a mega corporate chain, tradition let's you get away with offering little to usually NO benefits.  And job security is nonexistent.  But it is so legitimately hard for any restaurant to stay open.  Under the right conditions, bars have it easier, but not the high end ones.

The hospitality and service and airline/tourism industries have been decimated.  I would argue smaller family owned restaurants and dive bars and nightclubs are in as bad shape as high end luxury dining.  I mean everyone's screwed.  LVP will ultimately be fine though (probably and hopefully), her 100+ employees, though . . . not so much.  Unemployment is running out and the industry is basically defunct for the moment; many in the service industry have no experience elsewhere and finding other work is going to be next to impossible considering everyone will be vying for the same jobs.

  14. The operating costs are probably too high for the limited capacity she'd be serving.  She is better off that her three places have patios and she wouldn't have to rely on sidewalk seating only.  But she'd maybe be operating at 10% of her previous intake.  In San Francisco, many restaurants and bars have reopened for super limited sidewalk seating, but from my old coworkers at the bar I used to work at, they're making very little money.

What LVP was eligible for were the PPP loans.  I know my old boss got a $1 million PPP loan from public record (he has two bars and a restaurant), but he didn't pay out one cent to payroll, which is the major purpose of them.  MANY business owners misused them.  I'd be interested in hearing what her, Ken, Nathalie, and Guillermo's (even Tom and Tom's) situation is with those loans.  At the beginning of the mandatory shutdown, the Todds and N&G weren't paying anyone anything and their employees all had to rely on unemployment.  The Toms set some fundraising situation up for their employees and matched it to a point.  Which was amazing; glad Tom Sandoval didn't forget where he came from.

  15. Ya this Scott/Tinsley/Dorinda/John tea is HOT.  I have a feeling everyone but Ramona will be too scared of Dorinda to go much further down this road in next week's installment.  There was also a trip to Dubai with the 4 of them + Carole & Adam that went very wrong that I bet somehow plays into all this, too.  I would love Carole's reaction to this Dorinda/Tinsley feud, but out of protection for Dorinda, I doubt Carole would give her 2 cents, as Dorinda wound up being such an ally to her.  And Carole got so much flack for denouncing Tinsley, but I think there was more to that now than Carole just being heartless . . . these shows all have more BTS drama and production shenanigans than we can imagine.  It's not just BH lolol.

Heather was on WWHL tonight and if it was an audition for season 13, she didn't do so hot.  Which is too bad, because I love her.

  16. BH this week was meh.  The only one worth anything was Dorit.  Gawd how far she has come.  Kyle unfortunately deflected so much and so loud that she got them to skip over her bull$h!t right onto how Dorit defamed her business.  Dorit was shady but if Kyle gave a damn about her line, she never would have filmed that unprepared; she KNOWS how this goes and willingly made a fool out of herself in front of the cameras.  So instead of acknowledging lashing out at Dorit, Erika, etc., Dorit had to apologize for discrediting her.  I was disappointed in Garcelle for not going toe to toe with Rinna and Teddi; she just let them have her their moment.  She should have brought up how the scene was edited down and shown out of context and that they were making an opportunity to go against her because she's #teamdenise.  But she should have known better than to touch the kids; it never goes well.  As for Andy . . . he got mad--NOT a good look and it blows his credibility even further as "moderator."  However, even though I'm on her team, Denise is full of $h!t.  She's Trump style blatantly lying and pathologically diverting the conversation to where she wants it to be.  On top of that, she's trying (and succeeding?) to hold production hostage.  I get why this must be frustrating for all involved.  But The Coven (really Kyle!) came for the wrong b!tch.  Denise is owning them.

NY was ok tonight.  Tinsley for MVP with that Scott/John bomb!  Dorinda and Ramona are unsurprisingly making themselves look disgustingly horrible.  Leah is a gift.  It's nice seeing LuAnn so together after years of countess delusion, drunken abandon, and cabaret delusion, but she needs to bring it harder considering the OG purge!  lol.  Sonja didn't do much, either, and she clearly will also only acknowledge what she feels like acknowledging when she feels like acknowledging it.  She either owes Tinsley an apology, too, or owes the audience a better explanation for her disdain for her.  I'm hoping this revs up next week.

Brandon/Sami were great; he really understood her. But agree they squandered that. Still, if they were able to convince Matt Cedeno to return to daytime, I'd ship a Brandon/Sami/Lucas retread.

P.S. Remember during Reilly 2.0 mania when Kate had black female Eugenia wear a "Brandon mask" (just as Kristen wore a Nicole mask last year) to set up Sami to make it look like she and Brandon slept together to break up Sami & Lucas? Oy, goofy times...

omg yes lolol.  Iirc, we didn’t ever get that Lumi wedding bc Sami got exposed the night before.  This is probably what set her down the Stan warpath.  No matter what happens, the show can never be as bad as Reilly Round II.  I THINK!  Lol

  18. They really f'd up Brandon & Sami by essentially turning him into an Austin clone.  Up until the time they actually got together, they were really good.  Well, his character already became really watered down when Tom Langan inexplicably moved Brandon & Greta out of the Austin & Sami and into the Jack & Jenn quad.

Watching this show for 20 years, Lumi are endgame.  I honestly think I can objectively say nothing else makes sense given the history (and chemistry).

  19. Cool twist with Gwen/Abby.  I actually love Marci Miller and preferred her more classic long-suffering soap heroine Abby, but after Kate Mansi came back, I concede she's definitely the definitive Abby.  For like a million reasons, too.  But I am glad Abby is back; I think she's really needed on canvas.  MM was really good today, but this is kinda whip lashy . . . MM and KM really do bring such different energies to the character, and while MM excels at some things KM doesn't, KM really is such a dynamic performer . . . KM's Abby is unpredictable and scattered and really, really alive . . . MM just doesn't bring those qualities to the role, so this subdued, measured Abby is gonna take some getting used to again.  I did think she and Billy Flynn had great chemistry today, and it was fun to see how genuinely happy she and Missy were to see each other.  Also looking forward to seeing her more with Matt Ashford and, of course, Brandon Barash.

And on the subject of recasts, NuClaire is a let down, but she wasn't terrible today.  I feel like she's coming into her own, but I keep feeling like I'm watching one of those disappointing recasts that "Passions" became infamous for hiring.  lol.  I liked the cliffhanger with her and Tripp.  It's a shame this isn't with ORK.

I also liked the directing today.  Nothing super interesting, but it felt like we had a lot of wide angles and environment.  All around super strong episode.
