I Am A Swede

To be fair, if the rumours are true and it is this homeless Tom person who dies, then there's no reason why most of the other characters would care one iota.

I hope and pray with every fiber of my being that Biden comes through and wins in November, because I honestly fear for what the world will become with Trump in office once again. Maybe it's not fair to put that responsibility on you but the world desperately needs a strong US to be an opponent to Russia and China and I doubt that Trump would provide that. I don't want to be an alarmist, but the political developments here in Europe are scary. The memories of WWII are fading and right-wing extremists are on the march (not literally, yet...) again and Putin's Russia are threatening in the east. Trump in the White House would not exactly help stem that tide.

That sounds exactly like what the Swedish papers said. It drives me mad how they always twist everything in favour of Trump. Why they do it I don't know.

Personally I don't mind any of them leaving, and like I said, it could just be a coincidence, and probably is. But diversity has been such a hot topic in recent years that it just struck me as interesting. Especially since Emmerdale has been reluctant to get rid of anyone in recent years, or at least that's what it has felt like. They've just added more and more characters to the point where the show is bursting at the seams with people....

The bloated cast of this show is seeing some departures lately, which it needed. But it's noteworthy that three of the four major cast departures that has happened/is rumoured to happen involves non-white characters (Ethan, Suni and Nate), and three of four also involves gay characters (Ethan, Suni and Nicky). Now, this might all be just a coincidence, but it does leave the cast a little less diverse than before....
