What exactly was this Infinity storyline? I have heard so much about it but never an actual recap.

I was wondering why they wasted Jacqueline Courtney too. There was so much potential there storyline-wise for so many characters and the only story she had was being a doctor and falling for Mark and even that barely played out. The same went for 1989, that would have been another great chance to bring her back. I really wish she had returned to either One Life or AW.

. I wonder if thatgs why she left in 1980. She said she left for her own health and I have seen a May 1980 clip of Carla as well, when I compare her work there to her work in 1983 and 1984, its just completely different.

Thanks for showing that OLTL promo. Its great to see more Ed and Carla, even if its in a promo. And was it just me or did Carla look drunk?

Pat left town in August 1983, Rauch came in June 1984.

I just seems extremely random to bring Giles Morgan back to hold Clint and Echo hostage, he has no history with them. I think Kim Zimmer was married to the actor who played him though. Despjte that, it just made no sense. I think Pat was just about to leave around that time and he also knew Samantha, Dorian and Viki.

FanFic is to much fun for OLTL. Only because they have missed so many good story opprotunities over the years, so sad.

Rauch must have gotten rid of Will and Samantha then. I know he took over in the summer of 1984 which I think is when all that happened. I have got to say I am happy Larry made it though. OLTL seems to be the worst soap when it comes to keeping long-term characters, usually through their own fault.

Thanks again Carl. I love reading these. The scenes of Jenny breaking down after losing so many of her closest loved ones sounds great too. I do agree with Eric. With the Buchanans and Delila coming in, we lost Katrina, Karen, Will, Ina, etc. Obviously, they all weren't by choice, but 1985 saw almost an entirely different cast.

I remember an old OLTL promo on YouTube from summer 1982 where Bo and Georgina are at a racetrack and Larry is on a boat trying to rescue Karen in South America. It was great to see something from that era, even if it was a promo. I doubt it will ever be up again though.

Erika Slezak mentions the solarmite story in her finale interviews with Soaps in Depth and Digest. She says the prop guys had to build an extractor that looked like R2-D2 from Star Wars because the only Solarmite in Llanview happened to be under Llanfair and couldn't be exposed to oxygen or it would explode. The story sounds insane. All of the recaps I have seen, the story goes nowhere.

I would love to see 1983, but its all up to you. This is a lot of work your doing and I do appreciate it.

Well, that sure is true. I can only imagine what he would do to her when I think of what became of Pamela Oliver and especially Marty Saybrooke.

I don't know why they never brought Brynn Thayer back. I know she declined out of respect in 1998 to Zaslow's story but I read in Digest in 2008 she would love to come back. So disappointed.

Well Erika was definitely there for the NYC location shoot for Clint and Viki, which was a few recaps before this. I did read that she was gone for 6 months too. That is a long time to write someone out, I just don't like recasts for some reason, at all. Of course there have been some very good ones.

So Erika Slezak wasn't playing Viki at the time she uncovered Ted's schene and was kidnapped? That's a little disappointing. I would have been mad if I were watching then. Its such a big climax to a long story.

I feel like I am reading a book and it is just getting better and better. Thank you so much Carl. I am so intrigued by this Olympia Buchanan story. It has drawn in so many characters. On top of that, you have the Ted-Viki story and Clint fighting to be with her and Tina caught in the middle and Luther going all insane over the Buchanans. I am surprised they haven't had more stories like the Luther one.

I am hoping more of this era pops up on YouTube. I have been trying to be patient but I am so eager to see more.

I would love to see the scenes of Carla telling Ed she still loves him and thinks they still belong together. They sound wonderful. I also didn't realize how close Karen and Ed were. I like the idea of them.

Looking back, I think the show could have paired Pat and Larry after Karen's exit. Larry was just getting over Karen and Pat was mourning Tony's death. Larry never even found love again, except for Laurel and Brenda and Pat left, I am not sure why, a few months later in 1983.

I do find Pat's stories to be out of place. I wouldn't expect Pat to be stalked by her TV producer and then held hostage by her identical twin sister in less than 12 months in 1979. I would expect something like that on today's soaps, but not then. Regardless, I would still love to see Pat's stories even if they do sound bad.

I love that picture of Viki and Clint in the December 9 issue. OLTL seems so good back then too. I really wish I could have seen it.

I would love to see some Gillian Spencer as Viki as well and I am sure she was great in the tole, but I couldn't imagine Viki without Erika Slezak in the role, especially today. Viki would probably be gone too, I think Gillian left acting on her own and there would be no vets on the show today.
