  1. The guy at 6:47 is Dylan, Billy and Reva's son, and real life son of the late Cloris Leachman. In the youtube comments, (on this video or a similar one), someone in the comments said the one labeled 1967-1971 is fake, and because no episode has surfaced from this time it might be. Someone on this board who watched in real time should know. And they used the hands opening in 2007, the show's anniversary year. They have people recite the words Reverend Ruthledge would say to open the radio show when he was on it. I don't know what they did opening wise when the Reverend was written off I never read the issue, so does anyone know the reasons SOD gave for naming GL, the best show of 1985?
  2. Thanks! I never venture back to re-watch that period of the show
  3. They probably threw in Rick because he's AM's cousin, Michelle should've been there too. I don't remember if Ed was still on the show at this point
  4. I haven't seen it since it aired but I believe AM had a scene with Michelle at Maureen's repose, and I had to remember they were cousins. Weird because Carl Evans' AM was a fixture at the Bauer House, but they seem to move him futher away from them when Rick Hearst took over, and this was even when Blake faked a pregnancy to marry him, and then a miscarriage after they married
  5. I'm playing catchup after not being on site for a few days, so I'll say this instead of more quote replies. First, I never knew Roger had a vasectomy, so this was missed with Hart, and the baby Mindy miscarried (for me a fail with Calhoun/Curlee/Demorest/Reilly. Mindy giving birth to Roger's son would of had major consequences for them, and everyone connected to them, more far reaching than Nick). Also, I always thought it was a mistake to downplay a lot of Roger's past. Dealing with them the right way would have gone to show how much he changed after falling off the cliff, and realistically, those who knew him wouldn't have believed him. It's kind of if he had to earn it. But I think they chose to sweep it under the rug to justify Alex marrying him. Though it made for great story, I don't see why she would marry him knowing/learning about his history. And ignoring Rita was unforgivable
  6. Thanks! It would seem consistent with Maureen, but confusing for those of us who were there when she was conceived but missed this pivotal scene lol
  7. Fletcher possibly being Michelle's father is because he was with Claire when she and Ed did the deed, and he said he couldn't be the father because of the vasectomy, so from the beginning of the pregnancy we all saw Ed as the father. When he got Holly pregnant, I thought as those in the soap press, and fans writing to soap mags that because he did get Holly pregnant, he could've gotten Claire pregnant too. However, I'm sure none of us wanted him to be the father, but it should've been addressed, but I don't think ever was. And because Michelle was a baby/toddler when Claire took off, I don't know if they ever did the story where Michelle finds out Maureen adopted her but Claire was her biological mother. It's downright stupid if they didn't. Imagine in press reports of Maureen's death, this scandal was brought up and that's how she found out. Or was it addressed when Claire came back? Anyone know?
  8. In 93, the show announced Jordan was suspended for bad behavior on the set, but that's all I remember them saying. I assumed he would be back until they sent Billy to prison. When Clarke returned, he told SOD that he told JFP that he and a drug problem, and needed to leave to get help. He said she told him that it was not a good time to leave the show. I assumed that his reaction was the bad behavior on the set. I believe he and his wife were arrested on charges sometime before the clone story. I remember Rauch saying that he planned to heavily use him in the story. I'm not sure, but I think something also happened during the Billy/Holly/Buzz story, because he was gone from the show and someone in the press said that with the Holly/Buzz pairing that the writers seem to erase Billy's name and replace him with Buzz. I'm trying hard to remember, but I'm pretty sure something happened around that time too
  9. Actually, Dinah was carrying Cassie and Edmund's baby and only Edmund knew she had a miscarriage. He was with Michelle when she gave birth, stole the baby and presented her as his and Cassie's. Cassie named her Hope. When she told Michelle, she told her that she has a cousin named Hope
  10. I missed that. I had an after school job and only had SOD to help with some of the episodes I missed. I don't know how I thought what I thought. Thanks!
  11. I don't know if I'm misremembering, but i think it was said that Josh might've had a nightmare about Reva in danger underwater, before she and Josh spent time together, Dylan and Harley's conversation might have ended light hearted, when she realized they weren't getting back together (she lured him to the Keys to get back together with him, but he brought Samantha with him, ultimately paving the way for her and Josh), and I think Roger and Holly were trapped together somewhere (possibly at the TV station). It's been over 30 yrs so I can't be sure. I don't remember the other scenes talked about in the ATWT submission
  12. I remember the SOW article. The person who judged the tapes said that based on the tape submissions, in their opinion GL had the best overall submission, and while he or she found the Angel incest reveal riveting, they thought the rest of the tape was weak, and believed other judges would vote for ATWT based solely on the strength of the incest story. I think they said the GL tape had Josh and Reva, Dylan and Harley, and Roger and Holly. It may have been from the Florida Keys remote that led to Reva driving off the bridge. These votes were based only on submissions. I believe one tape was talked about, so I don't know if each submitted one or two episodes
  13. Just checked IMDB Emmy section and they have the same info I have. Ryder isn't listed in 1989, I'm assuming he wasn't there during the Emmy eligibility period Trent Jones. The trio wasn't named until the end of 1990 and their material began airing at the beginning of 91
  14. When the writers won the Emmy in 1990, Jones and Curlee were listed as Associate Headwriters, Ryder as story consultant, according to an Emmy book I have from the mid 90's which lists all the nominees from both daytime and prime time. Some years, like 89 and 90, they listed individual writers' titles. I know when nominated in 89, Jones was listed as Associate Hw and Curlee as Assistant HW. I'm not sure about Ryder. I'll have to see if I could find the book
  15. Years ago, Nancy Curlee did an interview where she said something to the extent of Ryder not getting the credit for things he should've, and got blamed for things he shouldn't have. She, unfortunately, didn't elaborate
  16. Pam Long created Blake, but the scab writers introduced her during the writers' strike. I don't remember when it was revealed, but it was obvious to me from the beginning that she was secretly working with Alan to get Spaulding back from Philip and Alex. Long wanted her to have a secret past, but didn't figure it out before the strike. When the strike was over and they asked Zaslow to return as a recast Alan when Bernau got too sick to work, he suggested they bring Roger back instead. Once they decided to do that, they retconned Blake into Christina, which is how they ended up with plotholes, like why Ed and Rick didn't recognize her. It also made no sense that Ed would lose touch with her, but they covered that when Ed asked Holly why Holly told him not to contact her anymore. Anyways, I didn't mind the plotholes because Holly and Christina were now back, and you knew Roger wasn't far behind. BTW, SOD interviewed writers after the strike about the mess they had to clean up from the scab writers. Long told them that she asked producers who Blake was making those secret phone calls to,and they told her that they did not know lol. Also, once Blake became Christina, Long had to throw out her backstory and develop her using Chrissy's backstory. I always wondered if it's why they got rid of Dennehy, who was in Philip and Rick's age group, whereas Rick was born in 1970, and Chrissy in 75
  17. I agree that it would've been easier to give Trudy a family as she was a blank slate, and easier for us to accept because she was on the show before, whereas Johnny's side was never mentioned before. The show's other big mistakes were killing of Meta's son, who would've had his own family by this point, and possibly killing off Kathy, discarding Joe Jr., and aging and killing off Robin too soon. And does anyone know if Bruce was mentioned when Meta returned in the 90's. I always assumed he died, but that wouldn't have given her reason to go back to using her maiden name
  18. I just watched a Twilight Zone episode. Didn't realize until the closing credits that the actress in the episode was...Gail Kobe
  19. If you're talking about the couple giving Mindy the evil eye, I don't quite remember, but I think Mindy found money that was stolen or counterfeit and used it to pay for the wedding and reception. I think she paid the couple for services, they found out about the money and told the police, which is why she was arrested. If someone else remembers, hopefully they can clarify it because my mind is hazy about that period Kyle was gone before Long returned. I think Kyle leaves, and then Reva finds out she's pregnant. Long returned after Marah was born
  20. I watched Kurt and Mindy's wedding reception on YouTube a few years ago, for the first time since it first aired when I was a teen. When it first aired, all the shootings were shocking, because it wasn't the Guiding Light I knew. Watching it again a few years ago, it was worst than I remembered. Billy saying "must kill Kyle," as H.B. looked at him, dropping the gun, and no one paying attention to it, after shooting David, Suzanne (or Suzette) just happens to see the gun and shooting David to stop him from killing Kyle, and that couple giving Mindy the evil eye, the whole thing is so laughable and over the top
  21. I'm happy to finally see any episode of Kit and Charlotte. I'm still hoping that an episode of Lynn Deerfield as Holly shows up. She left when I was four, so I don't remember her
  22. She was not credited as HW in 1990, she was an associate headwriter under Pam Long. Near the end of 1990, James E. Reilly's name appeared under Long's, and then the soap mags announced that Long was gone as HW, and Curlee, Demorest and Reilly were named HW trio. Their first credited episode should have been the beginning of 1991 Btw, when Curlee and Demorest were promoted, I believe he was script editor, which he was listed as when the team won the writing Emmy in 1990
  23. With Nadine's murder, I'm always stuck on the plot holes. For one, they really believed Nadine left town without telling anyone right after they wrongly received the news that Lucy's hiv test was positive? What happened to her car, clothes and other belongings? And Brent really left his door unlocked which is how she walked in?
