  1. In reality, there was no actress who captured what he wanted. I think he had it out fo Courtney but I must say, she was not so great but she was adored by her fans. The same writer and producer who fired her, hired Welseley Ann Pfenning in 1979 as the thrid actress to play the role and sorry that was a big mistake. she was gone not even 6 months later
  2. Jamie and Dennis were the best of friends during the 70's. I may add, sorry, not very attractive teens and in 1979, they went to a dude ranch and came back played by grown up hot actors. Pretty much after that, I dont think their friendship as adults was so great. 25th anniversary made a point for the characters to meet up and share a talk but Larry Lau was playing Jamie at this point. Jim Poyner, the grouwn up Dennis Carrington was graceful enough to return to his role.
  3. i think that is J Courtney and not Nancy Wickwire.
  4. Please share that video if you have it. Did not see much of Virgina's work
  5. Emma Ordaway was Steve's sister
  6. i agree, again, why it pisses me off that characters turn into different people. Susan Ketith was nothing like Nancy Frangione and I think during the 60s and 70s, they tried to replace actors and actress witht the same scheme. Although, how do you get Robin Strasser and Victoria Wyndham in the same character? regardless, they did it in a more diplomatic way so the audience would appreciate it
  7. Not sure about that. Alice was the only Matthews they got rid of (Lemay and Rauch), In fact, Lemay, re-wrote Susan Matthews back into the pic. Mary Matthews yes was killed off but they made Liz Matthews a major character and Lemay loved Pat. He also bought Russ back and forth. Most of the Matthews were killed or written off in the 80's. I would say more Rauch than Lemay. Carl and Alice did play together in 85 during ALice's return. I can not recall their interaction together but does anyone remember the scenes from Cecile and Peters wedding? They were both there
  8. I thought Krause did a great job following Matt Cranes foot steps. At least he looked semi like Crane
  9. Was the character Pammy ever present or just menioned? They should have bought her back. Pissed me off about Aw. they never kept up with families
  10. Well, that is how Harding Lemay made Alice. when u think about it, if someone saved your life from burning to death, wouldnt you feel some guilt if they died? They played around with the Alice role too much. A fe weeks later, a new actress is plaing the role and the PTSD is gone.
  11. great pics. iris, russ alice and eliot. core of another world history
  12. Harding came back around late September I think and was gone basically a month later. Ironically, I remember watching those episodes and seeing his craft again. Evan came to town (Janice Frames son) and Iris Wheeler re-introduced. I would also say he was responsible for creating the role of Caroline Stafford
  13. Surprised considering most people would know Beverley as Pat
  14. How come when peter love came to AW he was sweet as pie and then turned into a jerk after the original actor left? I did not watch much during this time. did something happen that i missed?
  15. No she was not but I loved Susan Harney as Alice but of course, they took Alice on a different route. they replaced Harney with Wesley Pfenning and again, nothing wrong with her acting but she is far from what I would call Alice Matthews Frame. She was hired by Lemay/ Rauch
  16. I agree but I think Courtney as an actress and her character at this point was more welcoming than back in the 70's. The fans loved her and they should have kept her but looking at her earlier work, I dont think she was that great of an actress.. But there were many that were not on the show at the time. wonder why Lemay and Rauch targeted her. Lemay was just selfish and wanted to control everything
  17. Susan came and left so many times and never stayed more than a year. Lynn Milgrim is the most memorable Susan though
  18. I remember when Carol temporary played the role of Iris. She defenietly had the voice exactly as Bev's but I thought she was too old for the role. In fact, she is not that far in age behind Doug Watson (mack cory). Actually, Bev Mckinsey was also pretty close in age to Watson as well. If you recall, Bev used to use a pencil to make a phone call to push the buttons so it would not ruin her nails. Carol Shelly did the same while playing the role. She acted quite much like Bev but she def was much older I think and did not see believable as Macks daughter. Almost more like a sister. When they hired Carmen to take over as Iris, they bought back a much younger actress. Think about it, in 1989, if Carol or even Bev for that matter came back to play Iris, they would have aged so much by then. Iris was always supposed to be around Rachels age. Carmen was in real life and Iris too. Dont get me wrong! If Bev came back as Iris, it would have been amazing but the storyline def would have been much different as Bev was a socialite and Carmen was a business woman
  19. Sally was a Frame though and Liz treated her like family. I had stopped Watching AW after 1990 for the most part and can not remember Josie and Liz's relationship
  20. Great observations. I totally agree. Chris Robinson would have been great as Willis Frame. They basically tried to re-create the Willis character with a different brother. Esp. using the storyline of exposing Sharlene as a prostitute. Willis did that in the 70's and Jason threatened to do it before he died I just wish they bought the offspring of the Frames to Bay City. Gwen and Willis supposedly had many children Irene Daily is one of my all time favs from AW
  21. From what I understand Chris Rich who played Sandy declined to come back for either of the special episodes. I really think they should have bought back more characters back for the anniversary specail but apparently most of them declined. Susan Sullivan (lenore( The actor who played willis, etc
  22. Vince had a bad boy image but he had a great heart with his evil brother Willis. Most of the Frames were bad. Funny, Lemay based off his family. Jason, WIllis, Janice, and Sharlene was not bad but nuts. Emma obvisously had problems
