I can understand your point, and I apologize for being crispy. I can say personally, though, that I don't regularly watch. In fact, the two scenes I saw of Tuesday night's show were the first I've seen in a few weeks. I want to like the show, and I thought I would, and there are parts that I do like, but in the end, it's just not doing enough to keep me tuning in at all. I feel like I get what I need out of it by reading other people's comments on it.
Cool!
I'm not a major fan of TP. In fact, I truly hated a few of his movies, but for some reason, with all it's flaws, I like this show. I agree it needs a new writer just for simple continuity purposes.
On that note, I just can't with tjhat other show of his on OWN.

People continue to fill midnight theatre showings of Plan 9 From Outer Space too
True that!
Trust me, I meant nothing negative by my comment. I just think it's funny the show gets picked apart, but somehow people can't tune out.

Why are you speaking as if you are Tyler Perry himself? You don't have to "take" the criticism, because it isn't directed towards you lol
Huh?
Nevermind

I feel the same way--I mean obviously it's ridiculous I continue to watch--but I can't stop.
This is why I take all the criticism with a pure grain of salt. LOL! Obviously, there's something redeeming to keep people coming back.

Wow! Veronica told her son in no uncertain terms that "coming out" was not an option. Yikes!
What an evil selfish bitch that Veronica. I love it!

Is it too soon to ship Benny and Darcy
LOL!!

Meh! The pauses were strange, but I didn't think the dialogue was bad. Matter of opinion, I guess.

I have no problem at all with the long scenes. It seems like people forgot how soap operas used to be back in he day before RC/FV(
queenskings of the 15 second scene) and the plethora of commercial that are inserted now.0 -
I don't really see it. I think Mariah is really beautiful and Lucy, is well, not.
They sort of favor to me, but I agree about Lucy being ugly. I'm not talking about her looks, but her persona.
On another note, I don't see how anyone would be on Mariah's side. She's one rotten apple and it's embarrassing. I feel bad for Aydin, but I guess he knows what he has.

Tyler Perry hasn't shied away from calling this a soap, he's compared it to Dynasty, Dallas and Knots Landing (and the show is clearly influenced by Y&R, the dark wood walls, come on!). And this show is closer to classic soap than the stuff AMC and OLTL were rebooted as (I don't know exactly what they're going for and frankly, neither do they fully).
Hannah and Candace are the lynchpin of this show. Their scenes offered a dynamic we haven't seen on daytime in years. And Tika Sumpter OWNED every minute of it. The dialogue wasn't perfect but I really felt like I was watching a mother and daughter fight.
And I think it's pretty clear that Hannah isn't perfect, she ignorantly assumed Veronica's husband was white, she isn't shy about preferring once child over the other and treats her daughter like she's not worth the air in her lungs. I think it could grow to be fascinating, JUST so long as the lines stay not so obviously drawn.
Good post. I agree.

Personally, I loved every minute of both episodes. Candace is a diva. I'm glad Tika Sumpter got a role she can really sink her teeth into.

Sorry Eric, but I thought Wyatt was too plastic. He doesn't really do much for me
CLEARLY the hottest guy on the cast. Need more of him!
Oh yes, baby! Yes!!! Wyatt is hot too. Can't take a thing away from him.

Was the show any good?
What? This was my Thursday 10PM must see TV. The best primetime soap ever IMO! It was about every day folk.

With AMC and OLTL being rebooted. It really made me think about how I STILL miss The Egde of Night. If I had the means, I'd definitely do a re-boot. I would definitely need a writer with the genious of the late great Henry Slesar.
Gonna have to see if I can find a copy of the Seventh Mask. Looks like a fun read.

I dont know what it is about Madonna but I have hated all of her recent releases and this one included. What an awful song. I think the last song of hers I liked was Ray of Light. Her music has gone downhill. As a big fan of hers in the 80's, 90's and part of 2000's she is sorely disappointing me.
OMG!!!! See we couldn't agree on OLTL, but oh hell yeah, I totally agree with you here!

Just watched the season opener of Atlanta (I have absolutely no interest in the other Housewives shows) and this season is gonna be off the hook. Love my Pheadra and NeNe has become so over the top. I love it.

There's a BOATLOAD of things wrong with Sherri's dumb ass, IMO.
Whatever. It doesn't matter. She still has her job. She's the one getting the last laugh no matter what, I'm online at home doing whatever thinks, so it its what it is. Holla!!!!
I actually like Sherri and also find her more tolerable than Elizabeth. I do hate though when she talks about Jeffrey and imitates his speech

what in the actual [!@#$%^&*] is going on with SS?
By the way, shes the worst. idg how shes lasted this long or what she adds to the show aside from talking about Jeffrey and jesus.
There is nothing wrong with Sherri. She's more tolerable than Liz and The View is light years more tolerable than that clone on the Chen network.

I get it from my memory, but if you insist upon proof, I can dig up an old newspaper or TV Guide. I watched Another Life regularly beginning in January 1983. This is the CBN schedule AL was on at that time, and I'm fairly certain it remained that way through the end. It may have been different in 1981 and 1982. I did not watch the series much at first. Yes, AL did broadcast opposite Edge at one [point. I remember a very smug Pat Robertson talking about it on The 700 Club when he had one of the soap's producers as a guest. Robertson boasted about how Another Life had beaten Edge in one of the local markets. Robertson also predicted the cancelation of Edge within a year, and he was very nearly correct.
Ok, we are both correct. I just did a search to see what time the show aired and I know I wasn't losing my mind. I found this comment on YouTube
"
I agree, the show was addictive & the only soap that would be broadcast four times a day... 5:30am, 11:30am, 7:30pm (later switched to 4pm) & 11:30pm.
Many times I watched every showing (couldn't always catch the 11:30am) due to school, but I'd always catch it after supper time at 7:30 & my mom let me watch it usually before bed at its 11:30pm showing if she were still up. In fact, she wasn't watching at first, then I soon got her into it :-)
LOLFanme 1 year ago"
I always watched it at 7:30 then I would record it late night after I went to college. I never realized it came at 4, plus The Edge of Night was #1 in my book. On that note, I can't believe AL beat Edge of Night. Just doesn't seem possible, but whatever Pat Robertson said.

The regular CBN schedule for Another Life was: Morning 10:30 CT/ 11:30 ET; Afternoon 3:00 CT/4:00 ET; Evening 10:00 CT/11:00 ET. There was also an early, early morning feed (5 a.m., I believe).
Where did you get that info? The show definitely repeated at 7 or 7:30 pm weeknights during the early 80's. I was high school at the time and I'd watch it every evening after school. It definitely wasn't at 4:00 because The Edge of Night came on that 4 and they was no way I was missing that.

I know here in NYC it aired at 12 noon on WPIX channel 11. After channel 11 stopped showing it, I watch in on CBN every night at 7 or 7:30 pm, but I'm pretty sure CBN air it in the morning and late light also.

I posted this song by Natalie Cole a few months ago and people said it was Eden and Cruz's song. I never watched Santa Barbara so I had no idea.

Don't give a damn what anyone says, that was one the best reads ever. I hollered. I don't think I'm going to erase that for a very long time.
