Trailer for Season 5 premiering November 9 with the new cast. Lots of Diana drama (Elizabeth Debicki looks spot on):

Judging from the trailer the events covered in this trailer will include

    Spoiler

The Windsor Castle fire, The Panorama interview and the handover of Hong Kong

But far more important than that, OMG, Lucy Coe has just been shot, twice! I was confused about where she was. Is she on Pier 47? Cause that is where Anna is headed. So, would you say that Lucy definitely knew her shooter? Seemed so to me.

Victor told Lucy to meet him on Pier 55 but put in his calendar that he was meeting her on pier 47. As a result, Victor's office directed Anna to go to pier 47 while Lucy went to pier 55.

As for who shot Lucy hmmm...could it be that

    Spoiler

it was a brainwashed Holly perhaps?

Just my speculation but i'd find that interesting.

Denise Crosby!  I wonder if we'll see any aspects of her Star Trek characters? The good soldier and Security Chief Tasha Yar?  The evil plotting part-Romulan Commander Sela?  Those two characters were very different from one another but both very intense!  I mean obviously she's an actress so she should be able to play *any* type of character, so Carolyn is probably nothing like Denise's Trek characters.  But I have to wonder!

I just hope she isn't too much like her Scandal character.

But very pleased to have her in the role.

The always-wild Amanda Plummer plays the villain in the final season! I was amazed they got her

Quite fitting too as Christopher Plummer played General Chang, the last villain that the TOS crew faced. Which makes her literally "the next generation" lol

my jaw dropped when I saw Moriarty. I haven't really been following the tea for this season but I don't think anyone had that on their radar.

I gasped when I saw Moriarty and again a few seconds later with Lore (but of course that should've been obvious to me since as you say Brent Spiner was announced to be involved).

I have a feeling this church is going to be a big part of the Christmas finale - like some kind of suicide cult, I don't know.

Another mass suicide in the Shortland Street carpark, like TK's brother's cult back in 2018 perhaps

  6. I remember there once was a story with Spider going to work at the Benefits office which worked because IIRC it was a case of a well meaning anarchist naively going to work for the system in order to help people and subvert it from within, only to get caught up as a cog in the system and ultimately quitting.

But an undercover cop? really? The backstory had better be good.

Part one of Carly's random encounter with "Peyton Roberts Honeycutt" in Jacksonville:

Part two isn't uploaded but here is the transcript of that scene:

    • Peyton: Your great-aunt was Ruby Anderson? *The* Ruby?
    • Carly: The one and only.
    • Peyton: And were you employed at her “establishment”?
    • Carly: No. I met Ruby years later when she left Florida and moved to Port Charles, New York.
    • Peyton: Port Charles’ loss is Jacksonville’s gain.
    • Carly: [ Chuckles ] Where do you get off judging Ruby? Or anyone?
    • Peyton: There are such things as “standards,” and clearly you have no idea what I’m talking about, so allow me to explain. There’s a way to behave. There’s a way to conduct yourself that determines what circles you move in and who finds you acceptable.
    • Carly: You said your last name was Honeycutt.
    • Peyton: That’s right. Mrs. Wade Honeycutt.
    • Carly: He’s your second husband.
    • Peyton: How do you know that?
    • Carly: Because your first husband’s name was Daniel. And your daughter’s name was Charlotte Reese Roberts. And you lived on Bedlow Drive. And you had a big, beautiful house with a swimming pool. And you drove a Mercedes convertible. And I thought it was so cool.
    • Peyton: Oh, my god. You’re Caroline Benson? [pause] Caroline Benson. You call yourself Carly? My daughter is dead, and you’re using her name?
    • Carly: My name is Carly. I chose it, and I’ve been using it for most of my adult life.
    • Peyton: You weren’t born with it. Carly was Reese’s nickname, my sweet, my trusting daughter. Worst day of her life was when she met you! Ah, she came home so excited, made a new friend, wanted you to come over. The instant I talked to your mother I knew it was a mistake. She said she was a secretary. She’d be unable to supervise the girls ’cause she had to work.
    • Carly: You didn’t supervise very much, Mrs. Roberts. You were always off at some luncheon or committee meeting. It was the housekeeper who drove us around until Reese was old enough to do it herself.
    • Peyton: How many afternoons did you spend at our house? How many sleepovers? Little Caroline, always so eager to fit in. Couldn’t quite manage with your discount clothes and the wrong shoes. But my Reese was so happy to share. [ Voice breaking ] Oh, my god. You wore the same size. You could almost pass as a girl from a decent family, so I let you tag along. It made Reese happy, and I didn’t see the harm. I didn’t see the harm. Until it was too late. Until you betrayed my generosity. Until you seduced my husband!

Part 3 of 3 starts around 40 seconds into this clip:
    https://www.facebook.com/generalhospital/videos/1028976064454252

Thanks! Haven't been able to keep up as much since most of the clipping channels on YT either disappeared or focus on specific characters (though I'm sure there's one for Carly).

Part 3 seems to leave it ambiguous as to whether Peyton knows about Reese surviving the accident and turning up in Port Charles (only to be killed in the train crash). I'm still inclined to think that she doesn't know.

Also, I'm glad that Daniel and Carly's "affair" is being correctly portrayed as a grooming situation. I can't remember if it was portrayed that way back in 2005 but Carly was 16 and Daniel in his 40s so grooming is what it always was.

So, I think it goes like this:

December 1983-October 1984: World traveling, including the Himalayas, Europe and Bangkok.

    October 1984-January 1990: Texas

January 1990 or therabouts-no later than October 1993: On the run (with a two-year window for Luke and Holly to fool around, assuming she didn't find him in Texas)

October 1993: Canada, followed by the return to Port Charles

That's a good timeline but I think Luke and Holly's ONS is supposed to have happened during the Mr Big storyline, when Robert was in Port Charles between September 1986 and January 1987. That is why there was always just enough ambiguity for Robert to have been suspected as Ethan's father and for Robert to initially believe Luke when Luke told him that he was Ethan's father in order to give Robert enough will to live when Robin was presumed dead.

That said, the ONS took place in Singapore while Luke was on a caper and found Holly there, so it's not too much of a stretch for your timeline to say that Luke left Laura in Texas, did the caper (and the deed with Holly lol) and returned.

An unsold pilot with David Lewis in a supporting role.

Wasn't Daniel J Travati also on General Hospital as Spence Andrews in 1979 - not sure of the exact storyline, think he may have been a "temptation" for Lesley but she chose to stay faithful to Rick (this was in the months before she found out about Rick and Monica and Rick supposedly being AJ's father)

  10. I do wish that whatever issues Liz has were to do with Carolyn as opposed to Jeff. As an never before seen character, Carolyn is an open book and could be written as a complete monster if the writers so wished.

And now that I think about it, I kinda like the irony of Jeff ending a disastrous marriage only to find out each time that his next wife was even worse lol (not that he was ever entirely blameless in his marriages to Monica and Heather).

I don't think even Nancy chimed in

I was curious to see if Nancy and Ingo had ever been on the same side lol so did a bit of research and apparently she wasn't too happy about it either: https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/28338883.html

Of course the above was the year before Twitter truly took off so she may have said more if the whole thing had played out a couple of years later. There is one tweet that subtly references it from 2010 though:

It was bizarre to hear the phone being sold was like JANUARY. I know court cases IRL take forever but ... it shows the show has way too many characters and many get little airtime. It's so hit or miss.

True, Guza's GH (and going all the way back to Monty) would have had something like this - with relatively few beats to play out - done and dusted by the end of May at the latest and most likely even sooner.

While the Claudia Zacchara murder investigation also took a while to get Sonny to trial, there were more a lot more beats to play out - such as Franco, Sonny shooting Dante etc.

I'm actually glad they didn't go to trial right away, it allowed TA to interact with a lot of characters and situations. She's done a great job with the material.

I do agree that the prolonged nature of the story has allowed TA to settle into the role and the audience a chance to get used to her in the role, so that is a positive.

I've never understood it, but I assume it simply never happened because Steve Burton and perhaps Guza refused.

Yeah I seem to recall that as early as 1997 Steve Burton was unequivocal about never wanting the Q memories to ever come back.

I am sure I said it here before, but Sonny as a character should have ended when he left Brenda at the altar.  It would have been the perfect character arc.  The power he craved cost him the family and love wanted as well.

Agreed. It was the perfect ending.

  15. Just watched the last episode of season 3 and

    Spoiler

Turns out North Korea beat NASA, the Soviets and Helios to Mars.

Kelly had her baby after the plan to transfer her from the surface of Mars to The Phoenix was successful, while the rest of the crew are now stranded on Mars for the foreseeable.

In an analog to Oklahoma City, The Terrorists that befriended Jimmy detonated a bomb outside the JSC, killing Karen and Molly.

Ellen and Pam finally look to be reunited after Ellen came out as gay.

Danny was exiled to the North Korean lander after confessing to Ed that the landslide was his fault.

Margo was presumed dead but fast-forward eight years to 2003 and we see her looking out the window in a still Soviet Moscow.

  16. Anyone else watching this show? I feel it's kind of slept on. Due to air the final episode of it's third season this week, with a fourth season already ordered.

It's an alternate history about what may have happened if the Soviets won the race to put a man on the Moon.

    Spoiler

Season 1 takes place between 1969 - 1974 and covers the (alternate) Apollo program culminating in the founding of Jamestown Moonbase

Season 2 takes place in 1983 and covers rising tensions between the US (now based at an expanded Jamestown) and the USSR over control of the Moon.

Season 3 takes place between 1992 - 1995 and covers the race to Mars.

I liked that they also had a few people mentioned (like Lisa Elliott) Harold had no memory of (neither did I), which is true to life.

Oh Lisa Elliot, yeah she was a teacher at Erinsborough High and flatted with half-sisters Sarah and Catherine (and later Ben after Catherine left). She was only on for about six months in 1997. Lisa and Harold were actually on briefly together (in the latter part of Madge and Harold's initial post resurrection stint - they briefly left and then returned in the latter half of '97 after Lisa had gone). She wasn't very memorable so it's plausible Harold doesn't remember her either lol.

Her exit storyline involved her quitting teaching after Billy wrote "Lisa is a numb-nut" in one of his assignments in order to prove that she wasn't bothering to read them when marking them!
