  1. Has she lost a lot of weight? She looked better on AMC, unless it's just the photo.
  2. It's about standing up to the evil gay liberal agenda. The far right doesn't care about sick people. They think those people deserve to die anyway. I see a lot of speaking tours in their future. At least they seem less repulsive than the Palins.
  3. Collinson obliterated her, but I think the basic character is still there (although I wish she had better hair). A part of me is surprised Alison King has stayed, but I guess she knows parts for women her age are hard to come by. It still surprises me sometimes that she became as popular as she did, as she could have easily been seen as just the bitter long lost love/other woman of Liam. She and Rob James Collier had so much chemistry (while Samia Smith was just...there), I guess you could easily see them as a tragic love story. At her best she reminded me of so many of Corrie's better ladies.
  4. Yes, but he went back to Corrie in the interim.
  5. If it were me I'd do something surprising and have her with someone like David.
  6. Are they putting her with that old man? Why?
  7. Didn't he leave when Collinson took over? I wonder if there was a falling out.
  8. I know a lot of people think Daran Little is the best. I always tend to associate his style more with Corrie though. I'd say Reason too.
  9. BE I've just been skipping all Carter stuff, unless they're in scenes with characters I like (Tamwar, Sharon). I guess I haven't missed anything. I see that Dean is back, and I guess I should fear for the Carters, but I just don't care. BF who do you think the show's better writers are at the moment, and who are their worst?
  10. I read about that - it's taken me forever to get to see the episode, but I'm looking forward to/dreading that scene. This has been such a difficult story to watch because - and I don't think a lot of viewers "get" this - it's not about her drinking, it's about what a truly screwed up person she has become in recent years, how much she hates herself and hates her life. I'm glad they still remember Daniel in the story but this is likely either going to break my heart or make me want to kill her.
  11. Not that anyone thought she was actually going to die, but it's odd they would reveal this right after the cliffhanger of her life being in the balance. I still can't tell if this means they are leaving the show. I do like spinoff shows and I'm all for EE doing a better job in Ireland than they did the last time around.
  12. Adam "accidentally" threw the phone in the grease vat. Some have said that wouldn't matter, the message would still be there, but I think it's gone. James is OK from the neck down. That's about it.
  13. Ew does she have those Botox veins on her forehead? Nene's work holds up well in comparison to a lot you see on these shows.
  14. Looks like Gale Anne Hurd's project will be funded. I'm happy for her, especially since those "Why does she want OUR money?" types of fans always annoy me, given that it's entirely optional if you want to give her one thin dime. I don't have the money for things like this, but just posting the link again in case anyone is interested, as there are still some TWD-releated things left. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/valhallaent/mankiller
  15. Some news on episode format - they're bumping up the amount of two-parters (which is a long time coming if you ask me). I'm pleased to hear Jamie Mathieson is back to write more episodes. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-04-03/could-doctor-who-series-nine-be-entirely-two-parters
  16. I had forgotten I wrote a lot of that. I don't take it back though Beth's death scene will never make a ton of sense to me. Interesting idea - iffy execution (no pun intended). The idea of Beth and Dawn being alike and having to die is something I would have liked more with a different pen. Angela Kang, who wrote that episode, is not of the show's stronger writers, IMO.
  17. I decided to take a break from early March drudgery and watch today's episode, and I'm not sure if anything can better epitomize some of my feelings about Eastenders. As much as I complain about DTC, I do think he tries to take some stories seriously and at times has a certain faith in the audience that Santer lacked. For instance, Kat's story, which has been poorly paced, but is unrelentingly grim in a way that EE has rarely been in the last 10 years. We've seen everything in her life torn to pieces. The scene in the Vic with her family and Alfie where they were patronizing toward her and wanted to get her to "open up" and she proceeded to tell them that she'd spent most of her life doing anything she could to ignore her rape and now that she had been destroyed as a mother, she had nothing left to stop her from facing her rape - this was incredibly brave, uncompromising material, well-acted by Jessie Wallace. Yet I have no way of trusting this, because Alfie is simpering in the background, and I have to assume this will end in the idea that she and Alfie are back together so that means she's happy and healed. It's the same with Phil and Ben. Phil is the same old piece of [!@#$%^&*] as always, abusing his son in myriad ways, conditioning him, further polluting him. Yet I can't really say that this is going to go anywhere, because when has it ever gone anywhere? Viewers will cheer as he beats his son, the way they always do, and cheer as he gets one over on Phil (the new Dan or Steve or whoever else). Seeing this disgusting old man repeating the same stories that were disgusting 15 years ago just makes me ashamed to watch. Anyway... I like Nancy and Tamwar together. I think they're a good match. Shabnam reminds me so much of Julia Smith-era EE characters. I hope that continues. I'm glad they had that long scene with Carol and the cancer counselor. She really needed it to help conclude that story arc, and Lindsey Coulson was wonderful as always.
  18. I'm not sure if anything on a soap today sums up "love the actress, disgusted by the character" the way Laurel does. Charlotte Bellamy was wonderful today, as was Duncan Preston (Doug), but everything about who Laurel has become makes me uneasy and uncomfortable. Lies on top of lies and a barely hidden rage (like that brief bitching about Donna), and she's just so pathetic. I know Adam's basically just a walking hardon who consistently makes the wrong choice, but his whole quest to erase the voicemail was a lot of fun. Adam's a very believable character, and as much as a piece of [!@#$%^&*] as he often is, I still like him more than I should. I'm also liking that Victoria is in the middle of so many deceptions - it means she might have some great material when the truths about Adam/Vanessa and Robert/Aaron start to emerge. It's nice that Val came clean, but it would be even nicer if more of this was actually about Finn. If we learn that Finn and Darren began dating again OFFCAMERA I will scream. I actually thought they were a nice match but they've barely even interacted and almost every time they do it's just for more forced conflict. Jai is truly a pig. I have no idea why this character is still on the show. Do Ruby and Ali ever kiss on the mouth? I got so weirded out when I thought Priya was sitting in her father's lap.
  19. All they care about is they get a legal right to hate. They know if it doesn't happen they will be seen as persecuted martyrs. If it does happen, they have free reign to spread poison. As we see here, the media is already selling the "backlash of the backlash" narrative. http://www.politico.com/story/2015/04/religious-freedom-laws-conservatives-reaction-116611.html?hp=rc1_4 And all the GOP Presidential zombies are falling into line, other than Jeb Bush, who continues to be all over the place and continues to have zero chance of winning anything but a Bush family horseshoe throwing contest. I have to laugh at the prize hatemongers lashing out at companies like Wal Mart. Good luck getting the "heartland" to abandon that place.
  20. It's difficult for me to call this a happy set when all four of the girls who played the daughters have had some serious struggles, but I wasn't really blaming the show for all their problems - just that their being cast started all of this, and I can understand why they would never want to go back.
  21. They never got to be children. They were cash machines for their parents and the industry. If they'd never been cast on this then I do wonder how their lives might have been.
  22. I wasn't really criticizing them for not participating. I just said they wouldn't. I understand why. They and Jody Sweetin were all badly damaged by their time on this show.
  23. Is he still acting?
  24. Oh and the title sucks.
