    CARJACK RETURNS!

It's official! "Jack" and "Carly", known as "CarJack" to fans of the coupling, return just in time for some fireworks! Michael Park and Maura West have been back at the studio for some time now. What exactly did they do during their 3-month hiatus from the show? Hopefully, they did some resting because according to The World Of Oakdale Executive Producer and Headwriter Dusty Alford, they won't be getting much rest when their new storyline takes off. "We have a gigantic story for 'Jack' and 'Carly' coming up in August. Hopefully, it will break the mold for future soap stories like it." Viewers can expect "Jack" and "Carly" to return to Oakdale by the end of this week.

    LEACHMAN OUT!

Cloris Leachman has wrapped up her short-term role as "Nadine Weaverton". Viewers last saw her on Wednesday, but she's not quite done yet. "Nadine" appears to "Roxie" in a dream later this week that will haunt her granddaughter for months to come. One thing's for sure, though. Leachman will be missed. Says one cast member, "She was a joy to work with. She came in and knew exactly what she was doing and nailed every scene, every time. We'll all miss her."

    CASTING CALL!

Word has it that TPTB at The World Of Oakdale are looking to cast a new role. The part is for "Jason", a young man in his early twenties that brings a little havoc into Mike and Katie's world starting in late July. TPTB are calling on YOU to offer casting suggestions for the new role.

Also, rumor has it that TPTB are so impressed with Spencer Grammer's rendition of "Lucy Montgomery" on As The World Turns that they might bring her on board if "Lucy" should ever return to Oakdale again.

Be on the lookout for a news release this coming weekend, announcing the departure of another Oakdale citizen.

The World Of Oakdale announces the following casting news:
Alexandra Chando, Jennifer Landon, Jesse Soffer, and Van Hansis are all unhappy with their quantity of airtime and are considering leaving the show. As a result, the writers have taken measures to ensure that the four young actors stay on board with the show and have assured them that they will be getting more airtime in the near future.
Two actors will be leaving the show in the coming weeks.
Anne Sward has went on recurring status with the show.
After months of deliberation as to whether or not Peyton List will be staying around, a final decision has been reached and List will soon begin filming her final scenes.
Lori Loughlin, who assumed the role of Sierra Montgomery, earlier this year, will be exiting the role by year's end. There are no plans to recast.
Doc Dougherty, who plays the infamous Panzico DeMossi (and played "Butch", the owner of the Galaxy Strip Club on As The World Turns), may soon be leaving the show, though some insiders beg to differ.

    In other news...
TPTB are seeking ideas for a special "1 Year Anniversary" episode, which should air sometime in early December.

The World Of Oakdale is making way for 2007. Cast changes have been coming left and right. New characters, old characters recast, departures, and maternity leaves have left the casting department with one of the busiest weeks this year.

For starters, fans of the classic NBC sitcom "Wings" will be pleased to learn that Crystal Bernard has landed the role of "Dana Hamilton". Dana comes to town right after learning of her father's impending engagement to Oakdale socialite Lisa Grimaldi. According to Executive Producer and Headwriter Dusty Alford, fans will be surprised with what he has planned for Dana. "There's more to her than meets the eye. I won't go into detail, but Dana certainly has a very deep, dark secret that will present itself in an explosive way come February Sweeps."

Also joining the cast is Brennan Elliott. Elliott is probably best known for his role on "Strong Medicine" where he played a doctor. In a surprising twist, he will also be playing a doctor on The World of Oakdale as well. Dr. Chris Hughes, that is. That's right. The World of Oakdale has cast the young stud as Bob and Kim Hughes's son, Chris. Fans may remember seeing him making a brief appearance as the same character during the Thanksgiving holiday a month ago. And according to Alford, fans can definitely expect Chris to put a kink in Andy and Emily's ever-so-complicated romance.

Sadly, The World of Oakdale has chosen to dismiss Guiding Light alum Marty West, as well as his on-screen sister portrayed by InTurn finalist Geneva. Their last airdate is scheduled for sometime in early January. "We wish them both the best," says Alford.

And lastly, Maura West will be going on maternity leave sometime in mid-January. Details of West's exit aren't known quite yet, because of Alford's inability to decide whether or not to recast the role of Carly during Ms. West's maternity leave. Alford supposedly had a big storyline planned for Jack and Carly to begin sometime in the early months of 2007, but due to West's upcoming maternity leave, he isn't so sure he wants to pursue the dramatic storyline without West.

So he's calling on the fans to make a decision for him. You may write to him either though commenting this blog entry or provate messaging him. Like in any case, feedback is greatly appreciated.

Rue McClanahan Enters A 'World' Of Her Own

It can now be officially confirmed. Rue McClanahan has joined The World Of Oakdale on a short-term basis as "Millicent Hamilton". In a soap stunt much like Hunter Tylo's infamous return to The Bold & The Beautiful a few years back, Rue's arrival on the set was kept very hush hush. "They had me so disguised I looked like I just came out of that Dana Carvey movie The Master of Disguise", jokes McClanahan.

The Golden Girls alum is no stranger to daytime. She portrayed Caroline Johnson on the now defunt soap Another World back in 1970. However, this time around will probably be McClanahan's most memorable. She's portraying Millicent Hamilton, the sultry vixen ex-wife of Grant and the cold, un-nurturing mother of Dana. Fans will come to realize in the coming weeks that Millicent is a force to be reckoned with. And they'll also discover the reason Millicent is the way that she is. "Life hasn't been fair to the poor girl", cackles McClanahan. "And that's all I've got to say for now."

McClanahan started airing on Friday, Februrary 9th. Her last airdate is rumored to be Friday, March 2nd.

    Mantegna's world starts turning!

Joe Mantegna joins the cast of "A New World Turns" in the role of Michael Peretti, beginning April 9th. Michael is the older brother of the deceased Casey Peretti, whose wife Lyla and daughter Katie reside in Oakdale. A well known cancer specialist, Michael comes to Oakdale when he is asked to head the new cancer center at Oakdale Memorial. Mantegna is a Tony-award winning actor who recently landed a lead role on CBS's "Criminal Minds". Luckily, ANWT producers were able to work out a flexible schedule with Mantegna who shoots "Criminal Minds" in California. "Joe will be traveling alot, but it's something that he was able to cope with," says Executive Producer and Headwriter Dusty Alford. "We're ecstatic to have an actor of Joe's caliber here with us and we're excited about the story that he'll take part in". Mantegna's first episodes were with Don Hastings and rumors hint that Michael will be working with Anne Sward, Marie Masters, Terri Colombino, Elizabeth Hubbard, and Colleen Zenk Pinter.

In other news, Marie Wilson ["Meg"] has been let go from "A New World Turns" due to storyline-dictated reasons. "It was hard learning I'd be leaving," says Wilson. "But I'm excited for more opportunities to come. I feel no hard feeling towards any of the staff at 'ANWT'. They've been so great to me, and I totally agree with them. I think 'Meg' has run her course for now." Wilson's last airdate has not yet been decided, although it will probably be early April.

Martha Byrne will be sticking around alot longer this time around. "When I was with 'ATWT', I opted to sign a one-year contract," says Byrne. "After the regime change and the name change, I wasn't sure if there was still room for me in 'ANWT's hearts, but thankfully, Dusty showed me that there was and now, I'm sticking around for 3 years!"

Lastly, a casting call has been sent out for "Shawn". "Shawn", a handsome young man well into his twenties, is a short-term role that will kick off a big story.
  8. Actor87
Eric William Morris has been cast in the role of "Gabe". Morris made his debut in Episode 85, although the character's name was originally written as "Brock". "Gabe" will interact very closely with "Sofie" and "Casey". The role is short-term, but as always, there's a possibility the character could return later for a more extensive stay.

Justine Cotsonas will be exiting the role of "Sofie" sometime in late June.

Karl Girolamo has been offered a one year contract with the show. He will be reprising the role of "Kevin Davis".

Depite rumors, Martha Byrne and Cady McClain are going NOWHERE!

Two surprise returns have been booked for the 100th episode. No further details as of press time.

Daniel Ahearn will be reprising the role of Iris's ex-boyfriend "Stan". The length of his stay has not yet been determined.

Trent Dawson and Ewa deCruz have been released from the show. Their last airdate will be sometime in July.
  9. Actor87
'ANWT' Came "Colin" for 'GL' Alum
'GUIDING LIGHT' alum Wes Ramsey has been cast in the role of "Colin Taylor". Although he was originally intended to be a dayplayer, Colin's importance in an emerging storyline prompted the powers to be at 'A NEW WORLD TURNS' to cast Ramsey in the recurring role. Look for Colin to be a love interest for one Oakdale dame who is currently going through a romantic drought and a menace to his adoptive sister. His first airdate is October 1, 2008.

    The Doctor is Back In
Paul Korver is back in the role that he last portrayed from 1999-2002. Although "Chris Hughes" was last seen being played by newcomer Dylan Bruce, the powers that be wanted to ask an old favorite to return. Korver will only be sticking around for a short while, but his short-term appearance will play an integral role in two ongoing storylines on 'A NEW WORLD TURNS'. Chris returns October 2, 2008.

    Emma's Got a Boyfriend
As most readers know, Emma Snyder, the Oakdale matriarch long known for her heart-to-hearts and warm apple pie, has been sneaking out of town for almost a year now. And as seen recently, she's been going to see a mystery man. Well, this week, that man gets a name when Holden tricks "Clark Allan" into coming to town. Most recently known as "Asa" by 'OLTL' fans, Phil Carey steps into the role. His first airdate is October 8, 2008.
  10. Actor87
Word has it that an actor has been chosen for the part of "Heath" but no names are being released at this point.

Zach Roerig ("Casey") has been released from the show. His last airdate is said to be unknown at this time.
  11. Actor87
Fans may be worried about the absence of Ben and Jessica and Jack and Carly. A few may even have concerns about Tom and Margo. But have no fear. All the actors are still on contract status and should begin resurfacing by the end of the month.

Though Peyton List was only supposed to reprise the role of Lucy on a short-term basis, the powers that be are re-thinking the tenure of List's stay.

Rumor has it that the fan fiction has two top secret returns to the show. "Top secret?", you may ask. Well, think of it like the bombshell surprise return of Hunter Tylo to B&B back in 2005. It's kind of like that.

Two actors are going home sometime in November. These two actors' departure dates have been set back time and time again, but this time, the decision is final.

Agim Kaba and Jessica Dunphy ride off into the sunset again on October 26, but don't rule out any future returns just yet. Perhaps the next return could be a little more lengthly.

A name for Dusty and Meg's baby has been chosen. At least, that's what insiders are saying. And also according to them, the name is a nice tribute to ATWT history.

Setside sources are saying that more new characters are coming, but other sources say that half of the new characters that have been brought onto the show since its creation in December of 2005 might be out the door by year's end.

    Craig and Lyla Return!

The World of Oakdale recently dropped two huge casting bombshells on its Halloween episode. The returns of Craig Montgomery and Lyla Peretti were two casting returns that were definitely kept tight under wraps for a while. Says TWOO HW/EP Dusty Alford, "We wanted the readers to be left breathless after the Halloween episode and I think we achieved that with the returns of Craig and Lyla".

Block, who left the role of Craig back in 2005, was more than happy to return to the show. While Alford contemplated bringing current Craig Montgomery on "ATWT" aboard (Jeffrey Meek), it was Block's indescribale talents that made the decision a rather easy one. However, don't expect for Craig to be kidnapping his daughter or switching babies so that he can raise his biological child from a one night stand with his ex-stepdaughter any time soon. "While I love Hogan, I think the biggest mistake he made was making Craig a villain," says Alford. "I mean, yes, he is a force to be reckoned with, but nothing like they protrayed him on 'ATWT' ".

As for Sward, the actress hasn't been on the show since 2000 when she tried to convince her youngest daughter to end her marriage to Simon Frasier. Since then, Sward has been relaxing. But when TPTB came calling, Sward was immediately all ears. "I just loved the story and I adore Terri [Colombino, "Katie"] and Ellen [Dolan, "Margo"], so it feels right to be back," says Sward.

While Block has inked a contract with the show, Sward will only be recurring...for now.

According to the latest issue of Oakdale Digest, a final decision has been made regarding the upcoming maternity leave of The World of Oakdale's Maura West and a fresh, new, controversial storyline featuring West that the headwriter was said to be writing soon.

Headwriter Dusty Alford had planned to pen a special storyline this spring which would heavily feature Maura West, who plays the role of Carly Snyder, but due to West's maternity leave, some changes had to be made. Alford felt that the storyline was really special and was debating whether or not to continue his plan of writing the story with or without Maura West.

Fans were left with the opportunity to decide whether or not West should be recast and ultimately, whether or not the story would take place. But in the end, Alford decided to write an exit for West and wait until her return to pen the storyline. "I just can't see anybody else in the role of 'Carly' and I want to wait a while", says Alford. "I ask that the fans please be patient and know that once West returns, The World of Oakdale will kick off one of its most controversial storyline's ever".

West has definitely been a mainstay on the Oakdale backburner over the past few months, since her return from three month hiatus in 2006. Some nay-sayers may be prompted to believe that this exact situation may be repeated when West returns, but Alford promises otherwise. "I really want the fans to trust me on this one. They won't regret it". West's last airdate is January 16th.

In other casting news: Marty West [Jason] and CBS InTurn finalist Geneva [Erin] have left Oakdale a little sooner than expected. Their last airdate is January 5th.
Rumors of the return of Andy Dixon and Denise Maynard's interracial daughter, Hope have been laid to rest. "Ther aren't any plans to bring her back", says Alford.
Jesse Soffer [Will] and Jennifer Landon [Gwen] are in some rather heated contract talks. While some say that Landon would like to pursue her music career, others say that Soffer doesn't feel like being on the backburner much longer.

He also gives Meg a card that Iva sent for Meg to open on the day of her wedding. Emma presents Meg with a card from Caleb and Julie, as well. An ancy Meg asks her mother if this is the way she felt when she married her father. Emma says to take what Meg's feeling, multiply it times twenty and that was only a smidgen of how nervous she was. In a touching scene, Emma, Holden, and Meg all pray to God and Harry that the wedding goes smoothly and that Meg makes Harry proud of his little girl...and grandchild.

Meg walks down the aisle with her brother at her side. John is at Dusty's side and Emma stands waiting at Meg's side. The preacher begins to speak and asks if anyone knows why these two should not be married.

    Episode 214Dusty & Meg's Wedding: Part II

Josh* tells everyone that he can't let Meg go through with the wedding, not until she hears what he has to say. Holden holds a furious Dusty back, as he swears he won't let the bastard ruin his wedding. Meg tells Josh that he doesn't have to explain anything. They had grown so distant because of her supposedly not being able to have kids and because of Josh not wanting to adopt. She then goes on to say that by the time that it was revealed that she could have children, it was too late. The damage was already done. Meg becomes overwhelmed and Emma steps up to the plate, telling Josh that he has caused enough problems for one day. Lily speaks out and wonders aloud why Josh is just now telling Meg this...and in such an inappropriate setting. Josh explains that he didn't mean to hurt Meg, but once he heard that Meg was getting married, he didn't think she could fully move on with her life until he said what he had to say. Dusty tells him that he must have been wrong, but Meg says that Dusty's the one wrong. She tells of the heartbreak she suffered when Josh filed for divorce, but not wanting to spoil her return for her or her family, she looked for Dusty as a way of keeping her mind off of it. Dusty takes it like Meg got him on the rebound. Josh explains to Dusty that Meg has never fallen out of love with him. He admits to finding Meg alone one night, crying. He tells of how he later went into the room once Meg had left and found an old picture of Dusty and Meg from when they were teenagers. He tells an emotional Meg that he knew she had never completely been his, because half of her heart still was with Dusty. Dusty is touched and invites Josh to sit down and enjoy the wedding, but only for Meg's sake. The wedding continues...as everyone gives Josh the evil eye.

Meanwhile, all the commotion over Dusty clearly upsets Lucy and Sierra goes chasing after her. Lucy cries to her mother that no matter how hard she tries, she can't shake Dusty from her system. Sierra tells her daughter to be strong and go back into the church. She tells Lucy that she knows it's hard but she has to do it, if she ever wants to completely get Dusty out of her system.

In a Boise, Idaho warehouse, Katie begins looking for a way out and vows revenge on her captors, saying that no one can lock Katie Peretti up and get away with it. However, the beam that Katie tries to knock down ends up crashing down on her head, knocking her unconcious. Meanwhile...Mike, Tom, Margo, Henry, and Jason all arrive in Boise, Idaho...looking for Katie.

End of 'World' for McCouch & Wilson
Dusty and Meg are set to exit Oakdale this week

In a shocking casting decision, The World Of Oakdale has let Grayson McCouch and Marie Wilson go from the show. Fans might be shocked, as well. "I expect they will be," says Executive Producer/Headwriter Dusty Alford. "I think the fans loved this couple and I know some of them will hate to see them leave, but really, there's just no room for them on the canvas at this time."

McCouch took the news gracefully, but Wilson had a harder time accepting it. When asking if fans can expect to see Dusty and Meg home for Thanksgiving, the most important holiday for the Snyders, as well as other special occasions, Alford remained tight-lipped. "Mr. McCouch and Mrs. Wilson were very gracious and I, along with the rest of the cast and crew, will miss them dearly," said Alford, obviously dodging the question at hand.

Throughout the past few months, the couple has been through the ringer. Meg told Dusty she was pregnant, only for him to believe that it was her jealous attempt at keeping him from Lucy. Dusty spent one night in bed with Lucy, who left a short time later. He kept it a secret, even after proposing to Meg. The tryst came to light when Lucy returned to town pregnant from her one night stand with Dusty, but Lucy soon miscarried and Meg, feeling betrayed, left Oakdale to clear her head. When she returned, she set a few ground rules for Dusty and soon, the couple found themselves at the wedding altar. However, Meg's ex-husband arrived in just enough time to stop the wedding for a brief moment and tell Meg the real reason their marraige went down the drain and to give Dusty and Meg his blessing. All the commontion sent Meg into premature labor, but the baby (and Meg) came out of the ordeal alright. And now, the couple and their infant daughter are headed to the swampy bayous of Louisiana for a fresh start.

McCouch and Wilson last air on Friday, November 17.

Citing the sour attempt the first time, Henry throws up excuses for a potential second dump at the altar, but Katie shoots them all down. After Katie leaves, Henry decides to make a move.

Leonard stares down at an agonizing Jack and laughs at Carly that her G-Man won't be saving her today. He comments that Starziak should have finished Jack off when he had the chance. Jack, hearing this, goes to pounce at Leonard, but Leonard shoots him in the shoulder. Leonard promises Jack (as Carly cries) that the next time he tries to lunge at him, he'll shoot him right in the heart. Carly screams at Leonard to let her go as Jack eyeballs Parker. "Hey Lenny! Forgettin' somethin'?" Parker shouts. Leonard turns around and stops dead in his tracks as he watches Parker dangle Cowboy Jack near a candle on the bar. Leonard goes for Parker, but Carly's bite forces him to let go of his gun. Jack lies unconcious now, bleeding profusely. Carly finally breaks free from Leonard's clutch and rushes to Jack and Parker. Parker, guarding his mother and father, grabs the gun and fires two shots into an approaching Leonard. Carly stares in horror as Leonard's lifeloss body crumples to the floor and Parker holds the gun in shock.

Jennifer is pleased when Lisa arrives and asks the fashionista to help her with the summer line. Lisa says that she'll do what she can, but makes no promises due to her looming family crisis. Jennifer, once Lisa has left, asks Nick if they have become a couple or if they're just going to keep skirting around the issue. Nick comments that eh thought they made it pretty official when they had sex in the Threaz office and the two begin making love...in the Threadz office...once again.

Lisa returns to the hotel and finds a bruised and beaten Roxie unconcious on the floor. Lisa asks who ddi this to her, but Roxie is unresponsive. Lisa phones an ambulance and vows to make whoever did this to her grandchild pay, which Roxie hears just as she comes to. As she's wheeled down the hall, Roxie flashes back to being brutally beaten just minutes ago by Nadine. Then, she flashes back to her childhood when an enraged Nadine used to continually beat her, claiming that Roxie was the reason behind her daughter's (Roxie's mother's) suicide.

Episode co-written by my good friend and better internet half, P.J.

WHO: The denizens of Oakdale, Illinois
WHERE: The Grand Opening of the Oakdale Memorial Cancer Center
    WHAT: A black-tie affair
WHEN: A quiet June night, Episode 100

Luke and Carrie arrive separately. When they meet up, Carrie admits surprise at the invitation---she got the impression he didn't like her. Luke makes an excuse---Noah will be occupied with WW business most of the night, and Noah suggested they get to know one another. Luke tries to get her to open up a little, mentioning he found out that she works with Carly. Smoothly, Carrie admits working at WOAK, but sulls up when Luke asks what brought her to Oakdale.

As Will ushers Barbara into the room, tears of joy run from her face when she sees a plaque on the wall, informing all who enter that this site is dedicated to Jennifer and Hal. Will himself chokes up, but holds his tears in when he sees Gwen approaching. Will can sense the tension and before asking for a private moment with his wife, he warns Barbara not to strain her voice too much. The doctor told her today that she can start talking again, but don't push it. Barbara smiles empathatically, assuring her son she won't. As she saunters over to the table where she's sitting, she catches sight of Carly and Wagner entering. Wagner introduces himself, but gets cut short by a business call. Barbara thanks Carly for coming and Carly retorts that she wouldn't have missed this for the world. Kim approaches and tells Barbara that they'll be calling her up to give a very brief speech, introducing Michael.
As Barbara begins to take her leave, Carrie accidentally spills her punch, inadvertently splashing Barbara with some. Luke tries to calm the situation, seeing how distraught both women are about the incident. Carrie apologizes, as Barbara fumes that Carrie should watch where she's going. In a huff, Barbara storms off. Luke sees tears swelling in Carrie's eyes and promises that she did nothing wrong. Accidents happen. Carrie lightly taps her growing bump and shamefully smirks that he can say that again. Luke, however, is too busy spying on a newly arrived Noah and Sherry to notice Carrie's growing bump or hear her words. Carrie urges Luke to go make himself known, just as Lucinda comes behind him and tells him that making himself known would be the worst possible mistake he could make.

As Luke, Carrie, and Lucinda watch on, Noah pulls out a chair for Sherry who keeps blabbing about her relatives in Minnesota. Jokingly, Noah states that he doesn't think that they've gotten to "meet the parents" status yet. Sherry giggles, pulling Noah into an impromptu kiss. She turns around and coldly eyeballs Luke, reporting to Noah that someone sure knows how to stare. When Noah looks up, he sees Luke walking away from the party. He excuses himself and tells Sherry that he has to go check on something. Sherry smirks as she watches Noah walk away.

Will and Gwen stand beside a splendid ice sculpture encasing the new logo of the cancer center. Will asks Gwen what prompted her to come. Gwen explains that she left Hallie with a sitter for the night and thought that a nice night to themselves would be good for a change. Will coldly asks if the babysitter has short brown hair, a grating New Jersey accent, and a criminal record that keeps on talking. Gwen scoots back, shocked at the acidity of her husband's voice. Will exclaims that he needs to leave before he blows his cool, leaving a flustered Gwen behind. Carly approaches and asks what that was all about. Gwen reveals that she's been taking Hallie to see Iris behind Will's back and she thinks he knows. Carly suggests that lies are no good for a marriage, citing personal experience. If Gwen wants to keep Will, Gwen needs to tell all.

Outside, Noah chases after Luke and admits that although he kissed Sherry, it meant nothing. Luke denies he's upset about the kiss; he just hates feeling like he's thirteen again and sneaking around. Noah explains that it'll all be over soon, which makes Luke roll his eyes in contempt. Noah returns to the table and realizes the next step he needs to take in order to uncover Sherry as the mole. He tells Sherry that Worldwide is planning on securing a million dollar account tonight with UniverseOne after Lucinda speaks with the vice president. After a moment or two of small talk, Sherry excuses herself to the ladies room and rounds the corner. Flipping out her cell phone, she sends a message to someone telling them to meet her outside on the terrace.

Carly smiles as she watches Wagner approaching. Wagner apologizes and says that he has some urgent matters that need to be taken care of back at his office. Carly's smile turns upside down and she excuses him with a peck on the cheek, thanking him for bringing her. Jack approaches as Wagner walks away and jokes that Carly must have scared Wagner off by telling him her ex-husband was here. Irritated, Carly hisses that Wagner left for business and exclaims that she didn't think Jack would make it tonight since he's always hated these formal events. Reaching back for two glasses of champagne, Jack chuckles that Emma pushed him to attend. He denies he "hates" these events---as long as the evening ends on a good note. "Your bribes were the best", he whispers in her ear. Carly flushes red, remembering nights when they had stumbled into the house and made love after parties like these. Dry-mouthed, Carly shoves the glass back into his hand and hastily retreats.

Running onto the terrace, she brushes right past Lily. Lily stops her and asks where she's off to in such a hurry. Carly musters courage and snaps that she knew she should have never come tonight. Lily invites her good friend to sit down and tells her that Holden couldn't attend tonight either. Carly hypothetically asks Lily why Jack always acts like her husband. He's constantly coming over unannounced, picking up the kids whenever the need bites him, and dishing out advice to her left and right. Lily laughs and tells her that Jack is just doing what he's always known. Being a policeman, he's taught to protect people. And with Carly, the rule goes above and beyond since he's known her and even fathered children with her. Carly thanks Lily, but explains that she still needs a breath of fresh air.

Will approaches the doors of Metro, eyeing his watch and recalling the venom that he just spewed to his wife. He's now more confident than ever that this fake robbery will make Gwen see Iris for what she truly is...a bloodsucking leech that will never change. Stan cowers behind some bushes and Will invotes him over. "Ya got the blueprints", Stan asks. Will nods yes and hands them over, reminding him that by the end of the week, he wants both him and his no-good sidekick as far from Oakdale as possible. He promises that the money will be deposited in an offshore account as soon as they're out of sight. Stan shakes his hand and heads back home to fill Iris in on his great plans for robbing Metro.

Luke walks back in, finally content with Noah's promise that all this sneaking around will be over soon. After searching around, he can't find Carrie and reasons that she must have gone to the ladies' room. Meanwhile, Carrie finds Barbara backstage, prepping for her brief introduction of Michael. Carrie cautiously approaches Barbara and again apologizes. But she assures the accident was just that---an accident, not a deliberate act on anyone's part. Impressed with the girl's forthrightness, Barbara accepts the gesture and declines an offer to pay for the dry cleaning. Shyly, Carrie admits to admiring Barbara's designs and career through the years. Expecting to be hit up for advice, Barbara starts to excuse herself, but Carrie insists she has to return to her date, and leaves. Luke hides as he watches Carrie stop behind a large group of potted palms, pulls out her cell phone and call someone. He tries to get closer, but Jack pulls him out of hiding and asks jokingly if Luke's hiding from his grandmother. Jack explains that she's probably giving some potential client an earful somewhere in the building.

Casey grimaces as Gabe pulls Sophie away for publicity photos. When she returns, she excitedly announces Gabe booked her a photo shoot in Spain. When Casey suggests going with her, she cautions that it's a work trip and that Gabe will be there. Casey storms off, accusing Sophie of being blind to Gabe's true intentions. Margo pulls Sophie aside and asks for an explanation. Sophie attributes Casey's reaction to jealousy, and feeling like a prisoner in his parents' house. Taking offense, Margo barks that she needs to stop selfishly playing two men against each other. Casey doesn't deserve to be hurt again after losing Maddie. His heart still hasn't completely healed. Sophie spits back that it's time Margo let Casey live his own life, suggesting that Margo only issued her motherly warning because she'd rather see Casey with Maddie than her.

As Paul watches Gabe whore himself to the media, Rosanna approaches. After she realizes that it's Paul she's approaching, she makes a last minute turn toward the exit. Paul, much too quick, has been watching Rosanna, too. He rushes after her and grabs her by the arm. Rosanna slings her arm free and threatens to have security called at the drop of a hat. Paul chuckles that this isn't her shindig, but Rosanna defends herself, throwing her board member status at Paul. He quickly retreats and tells Rosanna that if she wants to play hardball, he's willing to take anything she dishes out for a second chance. Fuming, Rosanna splashes her drink in his face and storms out.

Bob and Susan circulate at the party, mingling and accepting congratulations on the cancer center. Kim surprises them both by praising Susan's efforts in getting the center up and running. She even suggests doing a feature for Oakdale Now. Later, Susan privately thanks Kim for putting up a good front in public. Kim tells her it's not an act...she hopes this will ultimately save Barbara's life, and she'd thank anyone who made that possible. As Bob and Susan pose for pictures, Susan makes light of walking in on Michael as he was getting ready. Bob huffs that the last thing Susan needs in her life is an accident like Michael. Kim overhears and assumes Bob's jealous of Susan's obvious attraction to the new doctor in town.

Alison and Aaron arrive almost at the same time as Emily and Dusty. Both couples seem to be hesitant of approaching the other until Susan walks up, cheerfully annoucing her excitement in seeing them. Susan sees that Dusty and Emily have come together and incorrectly assumes they're back together. Dusty chuckles that he and Emily have decided to cover the opening together; that's all. Aaron sees Kevin sitting all by himself and excuses himself. Aaron takes a seat and observes that he thought Kevin had moved. Kevin sighs that he returned to Oakdale because of his parents, but he was making the wrong assumptions when he thought he and Luke could just pick up where they left off. Aaron recalls his little brother having a crush on Kevin and judging from Kevin's lackluster attitude and harsh Noah-hate that he'd rather be more than friends with Luke. Kevin fills in the blanks for Aaron, recalling that after he left Oakdale, he came to terms with his feelings for Luke. He pushed him away because he felt like what he was doing was wrong. But now that Kevin's come out to his parents, all he has left to do is come out to Luke. Aaron raises his eyebrow and pats Kevin empathatically on the back.

Carly sees Brad from across the way and sneaks up behind him, asking where that tramp of a girlfriend of his is. Brad reminds Carly that she shouldn't resort to name calling. Carly remembers the hell that Katie put her family through and openly wishes nothing but misery for the bimbo homewrecker. Brad argues that Katie's different now. Seeing that Brad truly cares for her, Carly backs off and apologizes for being so cruel. Brad jokes that since Vienna and Henry have gone to secure advertisers for ViCE cosmetics, he was the last resort when Katie approached him for a date. When Brad reveals that he's been thinking of popping the question to Katie, Carly urges him to go for it. Brad snickers and wonders aloud if Carly just wants them to get married so she won't have to worry about Katie returning to Jack. Carly hisses that she and Jack are through, but voices her pleasure in wanting to never have to gag again at the sight of Jack and Katie together. Brad laughs.

Katie tries to reassure Michael, who's nervously messing up the opening line of his prepared remarks. Katie tries to coach him, helpfully suggesting he imagine all the people in their underwear. Michael tries to laugh, but he admits he's always feared speaking in front of large groups, and he expects a disaster. After Barbara introduces "the man who made it all possible, the man who's saved my life", Michael takes the stage. He glimpses into the crowd past all the applauding hands and sees Doris sneering at him from the corner. He begins his speech, cutting it down to the essentials. Before he can finish, though, Doris barrels through the crowd. Loudly denouncing him as a cheating sonofabitch and slapping divorce papers into Michael's chest, she continues that he should be ashamed of himself for leaving her destitute, when he's off committing adultery. Katie's shocked and confused at the accusations. Michael roughly grabs Doris' arm and drags her away as Susan takes the stage and tries to calm the blabbering audience. Katie follows her uncle, and hears him arguing with Doris. She makes her presence known, only to discover that the woman her uncle is fighting with is his estranged wife. Furiously, Doris lunges at Katie, blaming her for bonking her husband while he' still married. Stunned, Katie returns to the party, and gets another surprise when she sees Lyla, freshly returned from visiting Cricket. Katie starts to fill her in, but Lyla stops her saying she saw it herself. Katie's puzzled when Lyla says she's not surprised by the allegations--at all.

At Lily and Holden's, a dark figure scoots through the yard undetected. A pull of the doorknob fails and the figure retreats to a bedroom window. After finally prying it open, the figure leaps in, startling the girls from their quite slumber. A hand tightly fumbles to cover Faith's mouth as she screams for help. The lights go on and Holden emerges with a baseball bat, but the true surprise comes when the girls look up and find their cousin Jade standing in the middle of their room.

Meanwhile, Barbara comes down from the podium and meets Carrie at the bottom of the stage. Carrie compliments her on her eloquent words and reveals that she even mustered a tear or two herself while Barbara was speaking. Barbara thanks her and heads back to her table. Suffering from a dizzy spell, she grasps at Carrie's arm to steady herself. Barbara snaps that she's fine but Carrie insists that she take a seat. Paul sees his mother in distress and runs to help her. Paul suggests they go home and Barbara nods, accepting her son's invitation to rest. Suddenly, the lights go out. As the hospital drowns in a blanket of darkness, a deep, malevolent voice wickedly calls out, "Don't leave, Barbara...we've yet to say hello...."
