Daytime Broadcast Ratings For The Week of April 6-10, 2026

Need To Know

  • “The Bold and the Beautiful” ranked No. 1 among soaps in Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, topping lead-in “The Young and the Restless.”

  • “GMA3” sees week-to-week and year-over-year gains in Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 compared to the prior performance of “GMA3: What You Need to Know.”

  • “TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle” was up over the year-ago performance of “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” in Women 18-49 and Women 25-54.

During the week of April 6-10, 2026, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” was not only the No. 1 soap in Women 18-49 (0.27 rating) for the second consecutive week, but the series also ranked No. 1 among soaps in Women 25-54 (0.40 rating), topping perennial leader “The Young and the Restless” in both demographics. This is the third time this season the drama has topped its lead-in in Women 25-54 (including ties).

For the week, the half-hour drama was up +0.01 week-to-week (0.27 rating vs. 0.26 rating) and +0.02 year-over-year (0.27 rating vs. 0.25 rating) among Women 18-49, marking the 18th time in 29 weeks that the show has ranked No. 1 among soaps (including ties) in the category. The soap opera averaged 2.861 million viewers, up +237,000 compared to the same week last year (2.861 million vs. 2.624 million). Further, versus the comparable week in 2024, the series was up +183,000 viewers (2.861 million vs. 2.678 million), up +0.02 among Women 18-49 (0.27 rating vs. 0.25 rating) and virtually on par with its performance among Women 25-54 (0.40 rating vs. 0.42 rating).

With 3.166 million viewers tuned in, “The Young and the Restless” averaged more than three million viewers for the 11th consecutive week, up +168,000 compared to the same week last year and up +78,000 compared to the same week in 2024 (3.166 million vs. 3.088 million).

ABC's "General Hospital" fell below the two-million-viewer mark for the first time in 11 weeks (since the week of January 19-23, 2026), with 1.944 million viewers tuning in to the happenings in Port Charles. That said, the long-running soap opera saw week-to-week gains in both Women 18-49 (+0.03; 0.18 rating) and Women 25-54 (+0.02; 0.23 rating), and was up +148,000 viewers compared to the same week last year (1.944 million vs. 1.796 million).

“Beyond the Gates” marked its fifth consecutive week of year-over-year gains among Total Viewers (+50,000) with 1.607 million viewers tuning in. The soap opera maintained its week-ago and year-ago 1.1 rating in Households, while demographically, it saw the largest year-over-year drop across daytime broadcast, down 0.06 among Women 18-49 and down 0.10 among Women 25-54.

“GMA3” was the only daytime broadcast series to see week-to-week and year-over-year gains in both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54. For the week, the news program was up +0.02 among Women 18-49 (0.15 rating vs. 0.13 rating) and up +0.04 among Women 25-54 (0.20 rating vs. 0.16 rating). With its 0.20 rating in Women 25-54, the program was up +0.02 week-to-week and year-over-year, and saw a yearly gain of +183,000 viewers compared to the same week last year (1.397 million vs. 1.214 million).

“TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle” continues to impress in the key demos, even with its week-ago performance among Women 18-49 (0.26 rating), and virtually on par among Women 25-54 (0.34 rating vs. 0.35 rating). Compared to the year-ago performance of “TODAY with Jenna & Friends,” the retitled fourth hour of the “TODAY” brand was up +0.07 among Women 18-49 (0.26 rating vs. 0.19 rating) and up +0.04 among Women 25-54 (0.34 rating vs. 0.30 rating).

I would never root for The Bold and the Beautiful (which is the worst American daytime soap running); however, in order to really get Josh Griffith out altogether, we need it to continue to outperform The Young and the Restless in demos, so in this case, kudos to that soap. And yay for year-over-year gains for Beyond the Gates! That is AMAZING!

This is why I believe changes were made behind the scenes at The Young and the Restless, regardless of whether the decision was formally (aka "officially") made by Josh Griffith himself.

Ratings still matter in 2026, and while delayed viewership and streaming do factor into overall engagement for the soaps, Live+Same Day ratings still play a significant role in measuring how many people are watching our favorite programs across daytime, primetime and all other day parts.

Plus, I do know CBS does play the classic demos/ratings game where Y&R is concerned, so if they're slipping (in comparison to B&B), then I know they're moving chess pieces. You would have thought bringing in Sally McDonald as co-EP would have helped so Griffith could "focus on writing" (and it did, to a point, as demos did improve), but you cannot band-aid something in the hopes of a long-term fix. I'm praying we get news in the next month that Griffith's exit is a full one.
