OK - I saw the day ahead clips and will comment more later. But a big yeah to Kayla's response about EJ hanging flyers. It was the same thing I commented on yesterday - if he really wants to help, then let him put some pressure on Stefano or other Dimera contacts to help find Roman. :)

Another flashback attack episode today. Still, I thought it was pretty good and I can honestly say I enjoyed every single scene of this show. Don't know if the show was better or I was just in a better mood watching it, but whatever. I'm happy. :) I really liked the family interactions (Sami-Uncle Bo, Stephanie-Steve, cousins Nick and Jeremy) and seeing Doug and Julie again. It's been a while.

Also, for the first time in a while, Chelsea and Nick shared scenes and I didn't feel like Chelsea was being THAT bratty and I could see myself starting to like Chick again. And I loved Jeremy's snarky comment about how he couldn't put up with Chelsea for even one day. LOL. Trevor has really grown into this role and Jeremy is really growing on me. Seriously if they just cut Jett out of the equation I could totally dig the younger set right now.

I enjoyed the Stefano confrontation too and am so glad to see him out of his wheelchair. But I'm curious if now that he has that liver does he not need the stem cells anymore?

I liked the random shots of Roman in the coffin interspliced in things acknowledging the poor guy is still in there.

And I seriously can't help it any more. I love Artemis and Demarquette! They are adorable. And Nick's interactions with them are always fun. I don't really see what the point of this story is, yet somehow I am still enjoying it especially now that China Lee is gone. Guy kicking ass in Panama hat >>>>>>>> than yet another ex-hooker blackmailing Nick.

Sami-Andre was good and Andre was fun and creepy as ever. It's weird, because this scene sort of reminded me of when EJ made Sami come to meet him at the cabin and I don't know if that was intentional or not. In any event, I'm glad Andre is making Sami deal with her feelings for EJ even if this whole thing is sort of messed up, but I just appreciate that he is helping us all move this triangle storyline forward. Thanks, crazy psycho! Although I am confused and intrigued by some mixed messages being sent out by Andre in all of that where at one point he talked about how EJ isn't actually a reformed DiMera yet he also hinted that maybe EJ didn't shoot John Black as he clarified a reference to the shooting as "or so your family maintained." The sheets at the end were kind of lame looking, but from what I understand there were some issues with filming around this time where Bryan and James weren't available the Saturday they were shooting this because the show decided to let Bryan attend Martha's wedding and James attend a fan event, so I don't think that's too big of a deal.

The only bad thing is... the elephant in the room with Stephanie and Max's scenes NEEDS to be addressed! I don't care about the adoptive uncle-niece stuff as long as they write the awkward into the storyline, but when the show tries to just brush it aside and ignore it *I as a viewer* cannot ignore it because I am just sitting their thinking oh Steph's Uncle Roman is missing and that's Max's brother. Or they talk about Grandma Caroline and I am just thinking, oh that's Max's mom. Ugh. Fix it, DOOL. Oh God. And now Stephanie is comparing Max to her dad when she has been comparing Jeremy to her dad too. Not that I think it's unrealistic for this show to give a character like Stephanie daddy issues, but jeez, incestuous undertone overload!

IMA, I agree 100% that they have to address the uncle/niece relationship with Max and Stephanie. I don't understand why they don't acknowledge it, get it out in the open, and then they can declare it unimportant because of them not being blood related--I just want it addressed! Ignoring it makes it worse.

I liked Nick and Jeremy at the beginning; they would make good roommates. Again, IMA, I agree that this younger set is growing on me--with the exception of Jett. Give them a decent story and a little less airtime, and I will be happy.

Good episode. I loved Stefano up and walking around instead of in a wheelchair. Crazy Andre is so much fun in a very creepy, psycho kind of way. Panama Hat Guy is mysterious and interesting. Roman in the coffin is making me claustrophobic. Keep it up, DAYS.

    • The sad thing about SC being a great actor is that his character has never worked. Ever. And yes if I don't know what Liam is about and just focus on acting... I can appreciate him. But as soon as I connect him to Liam... I cringe.  Maybe SC should run till he is still young and find himself a role where he can shine.
    • As I've said before I don't believe the fact that both sisters have cheating husbands (one in the past, one more recently) is a coincidence or anything random. It's pre-thought and pre-planned and the message is clear. Cheaters can be found in all shapes, forms and sizes. Some do it in the most blatant way, they are known serial cheaters and their wives know of their past hook ups (as Dani has already said... she was willing to forgive Bill for his previous mistresses... till Hayley came) and some are more masterfully disguised in the image of the perfect husband. The fact that Dani was jealous of her sister Nicole's happy marriage in the first episodes was not a coincidence. I knew it the first second I heard it. It made me wonder and think what is beneath Nicole and Ted's picture perfect life. The show painted two very different sisters and then gave them the same crisis. It was intentional and dramatically focused on how these women acted after that... How they kept or did not keep their dignity. The contrasts and the similarities are not random. They connected the two stories very well. Telling us that beyond the gates there are secrets... lies and betrayals. And sometimes the happiest ones have the biggest skeletons in their closets. Is all of this a cliche? A soap opera serial cliche? Yes. Does it still work? Yes. And did we need to start with something that is more universal and easier to stomach by the mass audience? Yes. This is only the beginning of the show in terms of stories and themes. We will have years ahead of us to explore different aspects of these people. The first couple of months it had to be a classic sex and betrayal story that makes more people hooked. It's universal. Again. Nothing so far about both husbands being cheaters is coincidental for me. It's too early for that.

    • Yes!!! Mona feels  like one of my aunts, love the way she carries herself. Loved seeing Eva pop-up at the gambling place.  Monday was all around good soap. Can't remember the last time an entire episode held my interest.  Loving the fallout and reverberations from Ted and Shea-Butter Sheila's affair

. Tricia Mann Grant is 90s early 2000s quality FINE. As nice as it would've been to see Anita embrace Eva, I'm glad she didn't because we can squeeze a lot more years of conflict out of Eva, Leslie and the Duprees.   Lauren & Sheila, Viki & Dorian, Katherine & Jill all gave us good conflict for decades. Hopefully this follows suit. I understand the concern. Right now there's an issue of quality of black representation on shows more so than quantity of black shows. I'd like to see more predominantly black sci-fi, legal, political, supernatural or medical dramas over the typical who is sleeping with who. However, this is a soap, and this is what happens on soaps. White soap characters do these things all the time, but have the luxury of being seen as individuals, not representations of their entire race. Husbands/fathers like Todd Manning, Victor Newman and Asa Buchanan cheat, lie and swindle all the time but aren't seen as a commentary on white men. Black characters like Ted and New Dollar Bill should be able to do the same.
    • And that area of the DMV has a high-end glamorous casino the MGM National Harbor.
    • Even under the new writers, Jamey episodes are the shortest and the weakest A lot of people were unnecessarily clowny and bitchy today. There was a lot of fluff and filler too. And the dialogue was a little… ehhh as well. But welcome back, Kevin! It’s been a long time lol his return still seems really random but I don’t mind it. Philip’s actions make sense to me based on everything that’s happened to him lately and it could possibly set up more tension between him and Xander/Alex. And I wouldn’t mind seeing him and Kevin team up. I thought the actor did a good job too. Too bad that they couldn’t get Robert Benvenisti back though. I didn’t realize it in 2001 but he was hot

And, we got the word that Arianna wants to come home. I’m looking forward to that, and seeing her relationships with Gabi, Marlena, etc. on display and I hope that

As for Rachel’s birthday party… was Days hinting at something that we’ve been speculating about since EJ was shot?
