Twin Peaks
I am not advocating for her return at all, I don't think I could deal with the second hand embarrassment of watching Lara's face in all honesty. That's true, she's still a spitfire. I'm not sure why, it just feels wrong to me. I would be more than happy to be proven incorrect though. I think Peggy Lipton is all but confirmed, between her tweets and the (unconfirmed) assertions that Everett McGill was indeed tracked down and is in. I think Amber would work. I know a lot of people are petitioning that Alicia Witt (who played Donna's piano-playing younger sister Gersten in one episode) should "replace Donna." I believe David has used her in at least one other project of his. Mark Frost also recently followed her on Twitter and if Mr. and Mrs. Hayward are going to make appearances? It could be possible. Other than characters whose actors have died, I expect that some other characters have also died in the last 25 years. I'm afraid for Bobby.

I found the recent picture of Lara Flynn Boyle and David Lynch. This was taken on May 17, 2013. Filmmaker David Lynch was the man of the hour at the Orange County Museum of Art’s annual gala, Art of Dining, held at the Balboa Bay Resort. The multi-hyphenate creative who trained as a painter and is also a musician was joined at the fundraiser by Twin Peaks cast members Mädchen Amick, Lara Flynn Boyle and Ray Wise. One almost expected to see stacks of donuts spaced two inches apart on a dessert table, in a nod to the famed spreads created by the police dispatcher on the television show known for its cult following. A quote from someone that attended. Sounds like she still speaks highly of her time on the show when asked: I enjoyed meeting two of Lynch’s Twin Peaks cast members at the party – Ray Wise and Lara Flynn Boyle, with Wise saying the experience “was the high point of my career,” and Boyle beaming, “It was pretty cool to be on the cover of Rolling Stone.”

That tweet was sent to me. I'm glad to see they are in. Check out these other tweets from Kenny Herzog, writer for Rolling Stone, Vulture, SPIN, A.V. Club: October 15: It could be coincidence that I've spoken with Piper Laurie, Mary Jo Deschanel, Kimmy Robertson and Michael Horse today. Or it could not be. (Am I the only one that, despite my deep love and adoration for her, doesn't want Piper Laurie back? I don't want to see an older Catherine, possibly defeated and not in her prime. That is one character that age would be hard to work with IMO.) October 16: It could be a coincidence that I spoke with Warren Frost, Carel Struycken and James Marshall today. Or it could not be. October 20: Believe it or not, when you chat with Catherine Coulson, who played The Log Lady, you do spend a lot of time talking about wood. October 21 (today): Just about rounded out a recent slate of interviews by chatting Laura Palmer with Sheryl Lee. Looking forward to sharing the results soon. To me, excluding Harry Goaz, the biggest question marks are: Sherilyn Fenn The biggest question mark but she would seem like the easiest to nab, giving her a chance to reunite Audrey and Cooper, plus she is on Showtime now in "Ray Donovan" and had her own Showtime show back in the day. Dana Ashbrook How weird would it be to have Shelly back without Bobby? Lara Flynn Boyle (or Moira Kelly) Will Donna make an appearance? Wendy Robie Big Ed and Norma without Nadine?! Russ Tamblyn He had a bit of a health scare but was at the blu-ray premiere event and is close with David. Miguel Ferrer How do you not bring Albert back?

Not only everything that Vee said but I think the fact that she was probably one of the furthest removed, if not the furthest removed, character from Laura's orbit, mostly because she wasn't her friend, barely knew her and wasn't in the high school scene anymore. Her story was also the prime/initial example of the darkness and seediness that live beneath the surface of the town (beyond the obvious cheating that consumed everyone it seemed and the criminal elements). The story of Leo being physically and emotionally abusive toward her was the first one to victimize another character on the show (outside of the obviously dead and tragic homecoming queen Laura). I think people felt really bad for Shelly and rightly so. To be fair, Shelly was definitely a supporting cast member in terms of who the main cast consisted of. Arguably, she was the least "important" of the main cast women. She never appeared on the magazine ads like all the other girls did (outside of the "Rolling Stone" cover which was not in-show if that makes sense). Audrey was definitely the defacto lead female character while Piper Laurie and Joan Chen were the lead actresses (just by billing and high profile). Then you had Lara Flynn Boyle shoving herself into every story and monopolizing screen time with James so Shelly and Norma were definitely supporting roles to all of them (and Norma probably even beats Shelly there with Peggy Lipton's obvious prior fame). I think this is also why Madchen was David's favorite - she just didn't play the fame game (how could she compete in all honesty with everything I just said). She was there to have fun and make money. No muss, no fuss.

Amick is definitely in, look at her two most recent tweets. She has quite a few more in a row about the show, Rolling Stone ranking Shelly #21 of the characters, etc. https://twitter.com/auntwendythecat/status/522231341513850880 https://twitter.com/auntwendythecat/status/522231074814844930

Twin Peaks
So confirmed (more or less) so far: Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Ontkean, Madchen Amick, Ray Wise, and Richard Beymer. Catherine E. Coulson I believe was also confirmed from a side source. Others I expect: Peggy Lipton, Sheryl Lee and Grace Zabriskie. Everyone else seems like a toss-up at this point. God I hope Sherilyn Fenn comes back, she's been looking healthier and more like her Audrey-self lately. Plus, I need Cooper and Audrey reunited to rectify the previous tragic misstep.

Twin Peaks
Pretty good ranking and surprisingly insightful comments. Sad to see Big Ed, Norma and Nadine didn't get any love though. http://www.rollingstone.com/tv/lists/30-best-twin-peaks-characters-20141010 THRILLED if the news about Ontkean is true. We haven't heard a single actor say they will absolutely not be back or have no interest. I love it. Even if they can get appearances by most of the former cast, which actors do you see as the series regulars in most of the episodes? I think MacLachlan and Amick are shoo-ins, being two of David's favorites and having aged so gracefully.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Did anyone mention Bree Williamson on "True Detective"? She played Matthew McConaughey's date. Looking forward to CBL on "House of Cards"!

Revenge: Discussion Thread
So I watched the first two episodes and thought it was ok but wasn't overly impressed. The acting (especially from the side characters) is VERY meh. Emily vs. Victoria seems to be the only reason to watch. Do the side characters get any more interesting or worth watching? Declan and the Grayson daughter are particularly heinous. Also the dark skinned friend/assistant/whatever to the Graysons - the girl Emily knows. How pointless can one character be, I mean, WTF, seriously.

I've always wondered for anyone's that's read the OLTL 30th anniversary book - are the recaps/storylines/character descriptions accurate? I only ask this because writers have always been known to retcon elements and I wonder how much of that is represented in the book. Also, does Gary leak any of his feelings into descriptions of characters or couples? Or maybe even "pimp" the ones ABC was big on, a la Rex and Gigi level? I got the book about two months ago and read the first few years summaries but haven't gotten super in depth with it yet.- One Life to Live Tribute Thread
