dragonflies don't let them put you down!
I'm reading 4 books at a time.
- re-reading Aggie's memoir. Picked it up again the other day & am almost through it for a second time. Not as bothered by errors this go-round.
- Both of Me by Mary Stuart
- No End to Her by Martha Nochimson: Soap Opera and the Female Subject (SB's Julia & Mason on the cover & illustrations)
- Whistling Girl by Ann Marcus
- The Monkey on my Back by Debbi Morgan

Salem alums took to Twitter to acknowledge the passing of John Clarke (ex-Mickey). “Rest in peace #JohnClark!” tweeted Wesley Eure, who played Mickey’s son, Michael, from 1974-81. “John was a great television dad when I played #MikeHorton on #DaysOfOurLives. In one scene I kept flinching when he was supposed to hit me so for the final take he hauled off and hit me really hard. I was reeling. He could not stop apologizing! Ooxx.” Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami) tweeted, “I was so sorry to hear of the passing of John Clarke. He was such a talented actor, and as an original cast member of @nbcdays, he’s forever a part of the show’s rich history.” Maree Cheatham (ex-Marie) posted, “I was very sorry to hear of John Clarke’s passing. He played my Horton big brother on DAYS OF OUR LIVES. I lift his family up into the healing light of love!” Christie Clark (ex-Carrie) tweeted, “RIP Mr.John Clarke. You were always kind to me. We shared our love for our family, @nbcdays, OC living and cool last names. Thanks for always having time to check in and connect. Big kisses to Mindy Clarke and family.” Wally Kurth added, “As a fellow UCLA theater grad, we had a good start to our friendship. I didn’t work w him as much as I would have liked. Sadly. He was a pro and he will be missed. RIP John.”

CG was my favorite Kelly, too. It was jarring when she was replaced since she seemed to fit the role so well.
I loved both Eden and Robin. I just wasn't fond of CG.

It was tough that NBC penalized Robin monetarily over The Princess Bride. She should have been able to be in that show without a money penalty! No one else had a monetary penalty. No matter what it remains one of my favorite shows. I have it on DVD. And, I have Cary Elwes anniversary book, As You Wish.

. That story was too brief because of Born's fight with Rauch.
What in the world was the clash between the Dobsons and Roscoe Borne?!
Was that one of the times when Borne just walked off of a set? How many shows did he do that off of? Jim Thomason off AMC? SB's Quinn Harding? OLTL? Y&R? DOOL? PSSN? GL? ATWT? City? RH?

He didn't get the part. Brian Green AKA Singing Sam did. As for Mitch Longley, he came in September 1991
He was good as an attorney & he was involved in Caroline's art gallery & he played tennis. Did he have a romance? After AW he was on that prime time show Providence with Melina and with Tyne Daley as a Social Worker.

@Donna B It was posted in the "They Almost Became" thread that Terry Lester was offered Buzz but turned it down to take Royce on ATWT. I think I remember Terry himself saying this in an interview around 1992 or 1993; maybe someone has the Soap Opera Digest/Soap Opera Weekly/TV Guide w/ this interview.
Thank you, @kalbir! Royce was a very exciting role.

Susannah. Was she born on AW or Somerset?
Christopher Schemering's Soap Encyclopedia indicates Sam's law partner Ben Grant who was married to Ellen. They had two children, teens, Jill and David. Are they these people? These people are listed in Somerset.

Last year it was Doug & Julie who got the Lifetime Achievement Awards. This year it will be who gets it this time! Big deal Award!

I am a big fan of both of them. Beverlee was a complete package. Carmen was the Chief!

Complain if you want; it's just ordinary stuff about a great person in a state of readiness. They were amazing!

It was Jane Wyman who demanded (and got) a director's salary every time Robert Foxworth got to direct an episode. That set must have been a ton of fun.
Agreed about Barbara Stanwyck. I know she was on The Colbys, but I wish she would have turned up on Dynasty for a scene with Linda Evans (who had played her daughter on The Big Valley).
They were so good together on The Big Valley!

To this day, I remain in awe not just of Barbara Stanwyck's talent, but her professionalism as well. By all accounts, she was on a first-name basis with the crews on every one of her movies and TV shows; and never once did she suffer those who came unprepared.
Yabbut is it true that Barbara Stanwyck was gay? Not that she shouldn't have been if it made her happy! She was SO talented!

My B&B favorite will always be Joanna Johnson. So regal, and pretty, yet never the typical weepy/dull soap heroine.
Love Joanna Johnson & so proud of her for coming out of the closet early on! So proud of her now for being 3rd Exec. Producer.

Let's do game divisions!

Melody Thomas Scott
Michelle Stafford
Larry Hagman
Joan Collins
Jane Wyman
I want to say maybe Erik Estrada( when he did that Telemundo soap). He has been a Diva since his Chips days. Larry Wilcox was pretty much forced off the show by the last season. Estrada also got rid of several other cast member he felt were a threat to his popularity.
Brenda Dickson vs. Farah Fath
Eric Braeden vs. Larry Hagman
Joan Collins vs. Melody Thomas Scott
Michelle Stafford vs. Carolyn Hinsey
Jane Wyman vs. Debbi Morgan
How's that for a start?
