No he shouldn't. The only people upset by Biden are the people on the right who are trying to gin up some fake moral outrage. What the right considers to be Biden's "gaffes" is just Biden keeping it real. He's actually quite the asset to Obama because he says what needs to be said while Obama tries to placate. Having Republicans tell black people that they "should" be offended doesn't pass the smell test. Especially when backed up by Biden's life long history as someone who fights for minorities and women.

Wet conditions? I thought most of the country was suffering varying degrees of drought especially in the center of the U.S. I'm willing to bet that if someone digs a little deeper they will find that the contract for the aerial spraying has been given to someone who donated to the mayor's campaign.

I'm astounded by the attempts at voter suppression. Is there anything less American than trying to keep people from the polls? I'm just waiting for the court to set the dates for the arguments in OFA v. Husted (the case where "Obama is trying to suppress the military vote!!1!1" ) I'm planning on going to the hearing and I won't be alone. No matter what I suspect that election day in Ohio is going to make the 2004 voting circus look like an episode of The Martha Stewart Show.

She looks lovely. I love seeing these actors return to their theatrical roots. These are talented people and I'm glad they choose to keep working their craft.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I think she looks fine. I think it's unfortunate that we equate looking one's age as looking "awful." This board has a whole thread devoted to bad plastic surgery. Would it be better if she looked like Joan Van Ark?

I know there's quite a few Judith Light fans here so I thought I drop this link to an interview she gave to Playbill since she's up for a Tony this year. I love JL in interviews. She just oozes grace and gratitude. http://www.playbill.com/features/article/166338-Other-Desert-Cities-Tony-Nominee-Judith-Light-Is-an-Ingnue-At-Last

I loved the finale but it veered into telenovela territory at the end. In fact, I'd really like to see this show dubbed in Spanish. I think it would be hysterical.

I completely lost my [!@#$%^&*] during that scene. Awesome fakeout! I'm also glad we didn't have to sit through the entire trial. Although, now I'm a little confused on the timeline.

That particular bumper sticker doesn't have to be commonplace because it has plenty of company: the birthers, the people who call Obama a Muslim, Joe Wilson screaming "You lie!" during the SOTU, Jan Brewer shaking her finger in the president's face like she was ordering him to bust up a chiffarobe, the insane Fox News meltsown when Common visited the White House...it all comes from the belief that the office of the President doesn't deserve respect as long as that uppity boy is in it. If decent conservatives really don't agree with stuff like this bumper sticker then why don't they stand up and renounce it? With all due respect Max, do you call out your fellow conservatives for their hate? Or do you just accept it and then turn around and blame liberals for thinking conservatives are racist? Decent, thinking, intelligent conservatives would serve their cause a lot better by publicly pushing back against the hate speech but they don't because in the end conservatives, care more about power than principles because in the end they know that all the ideals in the world mean nothing if you don't have the power to execute them. I only wish my fellow liberals would understand that concept. We'd get a lot more accomplished.

Because it's Clooney. Fame is Clooney's superpower and he's chosen to use it for causes that matter to him. I think it shows a nice bit of self-awareness. But clearly I have a pro-Clooney bias. I like when these people just put their hatred right out there like that. None of this, "It's his policies..." stuff. They hate the black man in the White House. Now we know where everybody stands.

It's been intriguing to me to see people act like Kucinich's loss to Kaptur was some kind of great liberal thrashing. Dennis didn't lose because he's liberal, he lost because he's Dennis. Marcy Kaptur is pretty liberal too with the exception of her position on abortion. It's the only thing that kept me from voting for her. It's not like Kucinich lost to Sarah Palin. Kucinich has developed this national profile so people who nothing about this area are looking at his loss as some kind of grand statement. I know people like to say that all politics are local but in this case, it really was local. People have been tired of Dennis' schtick for a long time but the one thing IMO, that has always saved him is that his office was wildly responsive. You could call the guy about a broken street light or a faulty railroad crossing and he would treat you like you mattered.

I thought he was dreadful in this episode. He was chewing scenery like a Marvel comics supervillain. I've liked him just fine up til now but I literally LOLed at some of his scenes in this episode. I had to pause at "It would seem that you despicable people are rubbing off on me" just so I could roll my eyes with all appropriate enthusiasm.

Criminal Minds: Discussion Thread
One of the problems with showing their outside lives is that the show needs to be consistent and I don't think they're very good at that. When Prentiss came on she was basically a mole reporting to Strauss because she wanted a job with the BAU but last season we find out she was a super deep cover agent for Interpol. Then there's Hotch's brother who we saw once and never heard from again even after his wife was murdered. We have Reid's magically disappearing headaches from this season which I guess got cured by the same thing that got rid of his Dilaudid addiction. CM is my favorite procedural (I consider L&O:SVU a comedy now) but they suck at continuity. And yes, big yay for the return of Paget!

I can't get over how different everybody sounds. Even though Noah is the guy who's supposed to be from the streets he has actual diction and clarity. Yet the character still comes through in the dialogue. Nowadays everyone sounds the same.

Glee: Discusion Thread
The only other one I can think of that could do the topic justice is Parenthood. That show has enough 3-dimensional teens on it to do the topic right. Other teen shows like 90210, Gossip Girl, OTH have so many bullies as main characters that any attempt to address the subject automatically become "very special episode" territory. Private Practice touched on the topic by having one of Cooper's patients being the victim of bullying but IMO the only way a bullying story really works is if we see the effects on a main character and if that main character is gay.
