We're getting election observers from the United Nations and the conservatives are unhappy. http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/263141-international-monitors-at-polling-places-draw-criticism-from-voter-fraud-group Of course, when it comes to voter fraud the Republicans are fond of saying that if you aren't doing anything wrong then you shouldn't be bothered by voter ID laws so what's bothering them about having observers?

They're trying to scare. It will more likely energize. At least here in Ohio it will. Mitt Romney is basically trying to Jedi Mind Trick voters into thinking that he has it all sown up but in reality he's starting to ask his supporters to vote early per the clip I heard on NPR this afternoon so the internal polling is clearly telling them something different than what they are spinning. It's interesting because the GOP has painted any increased access to voting as something that only deadbeats and criminal want, hence the attempts to curb it in every way (voter ID laws, curtailed early voting, threatening billboards, etc...) so for Mitt to start suggesting it at campaign appearances is just another flip-flop of sorts. In other news, say hello to Ohio's newest poll monitor, Yours Truly! *bows* I signed up today! If you're in FL, MI, NV, OH, PA or WI there's still the need for more volunteers. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to buy some fresh pepper spray and a stun gun.

Let them keep saying it. It'll help keep the iffy Romney supporters home because they think he's doing fine without them and it'll help energize the Obama voters.

This link says that the reports she was wearing an Obama shirt aren't true and while I have no doubt the people who did this heinous act were bigots, recent history shows that people who like to use the tag "KKK" are rarely members of an organized hate group. Most hate groups prefer to operate under the radar, you know, until they blow something up. http://www.nydailyne...ticle-1.1189946

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
JR Martinez's book "Full of Heart" comes out next week. Sigh...I love this guy. He's a living, breathing miracle and I revel in every bit of success he has.

What gets me with the religious right is their absolute HATRED for the poor. How can anybody look at the utter selfishness and toxic Ayn Rand misanthropy of the right-wing and think they are even remotely Christian. Stephen Colbert nailed it years ago, "...if this is gonna be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we've got to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that he commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition -- and then admit that we just don't want to do it."

Same here. But honestly, most people who claim to be Christians just mean that they believe in God. Not any of the actual principles of the various denominations. I long ago wrote off Chris Matthews. He's just so knee jerk and shrill.

Agreed. I think the race was going to tighten up after the first debate regardless just because certain people were going to see Romney on TV and simply decide he looked presidential no matter what he said just because he was on television. Claiming that the debate single-handedly did it is IMO a case of people seeing causation where there's more likely correlation. JMHO. Regardless we are now firmly in the "hysteria reigns supreme" part of the race.

Maybe they're trying to appeal to the U.K. crowd?

I read one review where they suggested that using a bunch of old TV and soap stars helps rental prospects.

"Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson’s office said there was no indication that the activity was widespread in their jurisdiction and said the conduct “appears to be limited in nature.” If we use Republican thought processes that means that this one incident of voter fraud is only hiding millions of other cases, right?

Ugh. I hate the Instagram effect everybody uses on pictures these days. When people are on a red carpet I want to be able to tell what they are wearing.

Are we sure he's serious? Because that's some of the most insane reasoning I've ever seen. Obama's at least smoked pot, Romney doesn't even drink. Does he really think Romney is going to be better for the legalization community than Barack "Intercepted" Obama?! Maybe Adams should cut back on some of the bud.

I'd like to see someone ask Sasha and Malia what it's like to hear people call their dad an un-American, black nationalist Muslim who hates women and white people. Or what it's like to hear people refer to their mother as an ape. Or their grandmother as a slut who had sex with a dog. Life outside of the bubble is kind of tough, isn't it Tagg?

The economy is only the number one issue when they want the women, gays and coloreds to stop talking about other things that matter to them. The Libya thing just isn't going to get much traction because, sadly, Americans no longer really care about foreign affairs. If we did, we'd be freaking the [!@#$%^&*] out about the fact that we're still at war in Afghanistan. We're no longer a nation at war, we're a nation that sends people to fight wars. If we don't care about the people dying in Afghanistan, then why does Romney and the Foxbots think we're going to storm the White House over Libya?

You know what I like about this statement? You quantify it. You didn't go down the road of hyperbole on top of hysteria that we see when the neocons talk about Obama.

Exactly. There is no other motivation for birtherism than simple-minded bigotry. The proof of Obama's birth has been provided and verified numerous times and birthers refuse to accept it because they simply don't want to. It's another example of people who willingly choose to be stupid - not ignorant mind you - STUPID because the reality of a black man in the White House is too untenable for them. They're children who think turning on the pretty white night light will make the big, black boogeyman go away.

When you speak of Romney's plan for the economy to what specifically are you referring? Because from what I've seen his plan is basically cut taxes on the wealthy, cut the social safety net and increase military spending and that's been a proven failure.

There were more than 1,100 abortion-related bills introduced in 2011. It's a major part of the Republican platform. The idea that Romney's flip-flopping on this issue isn't important isn't borne out by the amount of time and attention the GOP has focused on the issue. Do you know what projection is?

Maybe. I'm not sure. We're talking about the Rick Santorum Republicans. They're extremists who don't believe in compromise and they don't believe in middle ground. Mitt acting too moderate will make some of them angry.
