My understanding about the departure of Picard and Provo:
Procter and Gamble discovered that they were a same-sex couple, and the company disapproved. They were removed from writing this show (that they had created, along with Concerning Miss Marlowe) and never wrote again for Procter and Gamble. Roy Winsor hired them later to write Love of Life. I think that they also contributed some scripts to The Doctors before that show became serialized.

It probably should be pointed out that Constance Ford, when starring on the soap opera Woman with a Past, played the mother of actress Felice Carmargo, and Ms. Carmargo and Ms. Wyndham are sisters. So, the two actress probably had thought already about one another.

That does NOT resemble Carol Roux as all to me.

Wasn't Beverly Todd on Dark Shadows?

I read that she was on the show in 1994, playing the role of Louise (mother of Jennifer Griffin).
But, if you are asking about her role on A Flame in the Wind/A Time for Us, I cannot confirm that she ever appeared - just that this was announced.

Her work was extremely wordy, and I read that the performers were not allowed to change anything - it had to be said exactly as written. And it was written horribly!

I am not positive that Rex Ingram ever appeared on The Brighter Day. I know that he was hired, but was the show gone before his character could be introduced?
Also, Billie Allen (The Edge of Night, As the World Turns) was hired to appear on A Flame in the Wind/A Time for Us, but I also have not accertained that she indeed appeared.

The show, I understand, did not want Jack Stauffer to leave. They offered him and his wife contracts which would have made them the highest paid couple in daytime television. But, it was she (Rene Jarrett) who wanted to return to Hollywood (where she had starred in the NBC sitcom Nancy with Loving's Celeste Holm). I don't know what role they offered her. I am thinking that it may have been Claudette.

In the scene in the restaurant with Cecily and Josh, I did not recognize any of the other characters. Chet or Chad had more lines than any of the other characters, but I do not remember him. Cecily was evidently smitten with Sean Cudahy. I think that the show was trying to emulate the Liza/Marion relationship with Cecily/Bitsy.

Branigan must have been the first daytime role for the late Anthony Herera (As the World Turns, Loving).

Also, concerning the article above, there had been African-American performers on The Secret Storm prior to 1968.

Jeanne Lang was great as Carol Lamont! I don't know why she disappeared after having played that role.

Flora Campbell later played Margaret Garrison on Love Is a Many Splendored Thing. Nancy Coleman was later on Ryan's Hope as the nun.

The above article mentions the first executive producer, George Lefferts. I wonder why he left the show so soon after its premiere (only a few months).

I was going to add that Pricilla Pointer was the mother of Amy Irving, but someone did it before I did. I will add, though, that Amy was the first wife of producer Steven Speilberg, whose second wife is Kate Capshaw (Jinx Mallory #1 on The Edge of Night).

Two other older performers on the show were Clarice Blackburn and Lou Jacobi. Molly Picon left her role, which was recast. I am thinking that Clarice Blackburn may have been recast in the role. Lou Jacobi, I think, was also on the show. Coincidentally, his grandson appeared on One Life to Live (possibly during the same time).

The character was named Frieda Lang. I cannot remember much about the storyline (probably because I did not care for it and did not watch). This was when Roy Winsor began writing the show. He, rather than adding a lot of young characters, added a lot of seasoned characters and performers: Jane Rose, Abby Lewis, Molly Picon, Polly Rowles, etc.

Lee Meriweather was also on The Clear Horizon before she was on either The Young Marrieds or All My Children.

Concerning Ernest Thompson and Dick Shoberg: Ernest Thompson wrote the play West Side Waltz starring Katherine Hepburn. In the Broadway and National Touring Company was Julia Barr (who played the wife of Richard Shoberg on All My Children).

The question was asked earlier about Ike Harding. Ike Harding was actually Harry Wilson, the biological father of Tony Cooper. Jasper Delaney had not approved of him or his relationship with daughter Laura. He left town while Laura was pregnant, and she married Rex Cooper (at the direction of Jasper). Sam, who was defending Robert Delaney of the murder of Jasper, was invited to speak at Somerset High School. He arrived early, and was looking at the chalkboard. On it were the names of U. S. Presidents. Suddenly it came to him that Harry Wilson could possibly be Ike Harding. Ike had moved to Somerset to work with Gerald and Marsha on the Riverboat. No one had recognized him as Harry. He went to see Jasper, and he killed him. I cannot remember if Marsha had married Ike, but I think so (making Ike the step-father of Pammy).

Yes, you are right about Ann Wedgeworth wanting to leave soap operas to work in California. I had forgotten everything about the pregancy until I was reminded about it several years ago.

Isn't this the same actress who changed her name to Peg Murray and was on Love of Life, Another World, and All My Children?

Could someone post about The Nurses?
It was an ABC soap opera that began as a primetime CBS series.
Doris Quinlan produced the daytime version.

Oh yes, after Missy left town, Peter eventually was written off. Jasper died, and I think that it was after this that Peter was dropped from the show. Dr. Stan Kurtz remained a character. His brother and niece came to town, and the niece eventually married Tony Cooper. Stan later married another doctor named Terri (whose maiden name I cannot recall).

Did From These Roots and Our Five Daughters end on the same day?
I noticed several performers from those two shows who were either in the original cast of Another World or were in the cast as replacements early in the run of Another World: Jacqueline Courtney (from Our Five Daughters), Leon Janney, Audra Linley, and Vera Allen.
