  1. The RH franchise turning nasty is something we've been seeing for years and it's only getting worse, it will be the death of the shows, you can be guaranteed of that. We've seen it kill RHOV, it will happen to all these shows if there isn't a turnaround.

Yeah, I think they will be getting a whole new cast, maybe even in another city or area of Van.

Well, they covered the entire Greater Vancouver region through the two seasons, so it's either Van or they'll move the show to Toronto, which wouldn't surprise me. There's plenty of famewhore social climbers in Toronto.

The thing with Vancouver is that, in terms of social life, it's a small town, everyone knows everyone and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the producers can't find anyone in the city to appear.

Well RealityTea is saying that it's a done deal. Either way, they might as well end RHOV. After Reiko and Christina left, that show went to the birds.

RealityTea is simply taking the Shaw statement in an opposite direction to JackPeyton's stance. It definitely needs fixing and it definitely isn't filming this summer when it has the last two seasons, but it was a big hit for Slice and most importantly, it fulfilled Canadian content requirements for the channel while also being a hit. In Canada, there are a certain number of prime time hours that have to be dedicated to Canadian programming in order for a station or network to maintain its license.

I wouldn't count RHOV out completely, but it won't be back for the foreseeable future.

  4. OC was solid this week, I can see both sides in Gretchen vs Vicki, but I just find (and have always found) Gretchen to be so dumb and so pageant that I can't be compelled to respect her. She thinks she's in the "fashion industry" because she knocks off Hermes designs and slaps a huge G on a vinyl bag?

  5. At their upfront/presentation of what's coming up on their schedule. Canadian TV sites I follow on twitter that are always right posted they asked or confirmation it wasnt cancelled just being retooled. They also announced big brother would def be back next summer.

Very interesting and good to know that it confirms what I had suspected. A friend of mine does PR for a restaurant RHOV filmed at both seasons and she had not heard from the producers at all.

-I can see Shaw wanting to retool RHoV completely with a brand new cast. RHoV was a big ratings winner for Slice. It was so sad the way the show in last incarnation just threw up and died a gurgling, seizured death, and I really hope that Ronnie gets some help for some of the addiction and mental issues with which she is clearly wrestling. Jodi and Amanda can go crawl under a rock for all I care.

My. Day. Is. Made. What a brilliant description. That's exactly what happened to the show.

If the producers don't fire Jody and Amanda they clearly want the show to fail.

  6. RHOV won't be back for awhile. Shaw Media confirmed that they are taking a season off to retool the show.

Not that I don't believe you but where did Shaw Media confirm that? It's been THE buzz in Vancouver that the show isn't filming this summer (when it otherwise would) and that the network felt the show became way too toxic.

  7. Just because Lisa has money doesn't mean Nene wouldn't tangle with her. Nene tangled with LaToya and she has money. Same with Star. Same with Kandi. Same with Phaedra. Same with any other heffa that has/doesn't have money.

You miss my point, Lisa has the money to walk away from Nene, she would never have to engage with her, it would be Lisa's move. LaToya, Star, Kandi, Phaedra and whoever else Nene has dealt with have always been working with her and have been financially tied to her through their common ventures: Celebrity Apprentice and RHATL.

And let's not equate LaToya Jackson or Star Jones' "money" with Lisa's...she's worth $65 million.

I am not that impressed with Nene. I understand that Andy adores her because she makes him laugh, but she seems too arrogant and takes herself more seriously than she should. If she really feels that she is the boss she shouldn't feel threatened by any new wife and she shouldn't get jealous of their projects.

I don't see why her opinion of the other wives on every single show is that important anyway. If someone said about her the things she said about them they'd be "haters". The only reason she didn't name Lisa as the boss of BH (she propably means the face of the show; I can't believe she thinks she is the boss; one fight with Andy would turn her into the next Adrienne or Sherree)is because she is threatened by Lisa, who has something she will never have; class and wit.

Oh, yes I totally forgot how NeNe mentioned the need to recast a handful of OC ladies. So so true. And I loved her point about NJ's darkness as well.

Yay! NYC is finally filming! Can't wait to see those ladies back onscreen.

I think NeNe omitted any Beverly Hills lady as being "boss" because it's relatively new compared to the other cities which are up to season 5, 6, 7, etc... Although I did detect a lil vibe when she mentioned Lisa's name, like she doesn't care for her but is smart enough not to diss her.

Absolutely. Threatened by her but too smart to tangle with her because Lisa is the one woman that Nene would lose to because Lisa has the power and the money to just walk away.

  9. BH: 3

OC: I agree with Cat that it's jumped the shark and returned to greatness at least twice, it has a certain nostalgia given it's the original.

    NJ: 2

    NY: 3

V: 1 (S2 was like a totally different show, even though all the producers stayed the same the 'angle' of the show changed dramatically and for the worse)

    ATL: 3

  10. RHOC...

I think Tamra is the problem with this show. And that's coming from someone who hated Alexis last season. Tamra is so angry and it manifests itself in her attempt to humiliate each and every person she comes in contact with, just as Vicki said.

Vicki and her family are what the franchise, originally, was all about and I would be crushed if she wasn't a consistent part of this show. I really think OC would benefit from firing Tamra and replacing her with Jeana Keough. Bring this show back to what it was.

Gretchen speaks very poorly and was clearly itching for a fight with Vicki and it just doesn't show her in her best light, her concern for Slade and his son was an example of when Gretchen shines, but those moments, frankly, are too few and far between.

I feel like all the Teri/Heather drama is beyond contrived. It rings so hollow and that's not good for the franchise because then it starts taking on a NJ tone and that't not what's needed.

Alexis is a baby, but she isn't without a point in terms of how she's been treated, Lydia, obviously, saw things the most fairly because she hasn't been involved in any of it.

  11. I think Taylor has value, as Cat perfectly said, because amid the wealth and glamour there is always a shady character or two and that's the role Taylor fills. If it was all glamorous women having petty fights it would be boring, Taylor stirring the pot in her rented house with her fake Birkin bags saddled with the hell a suicidal grifter abusive husband left behind is another facet to life Beverly Hills.

Taylor was dead right about Adrienne in her blogs. Really, her blogs were the best of the season and I wish she'd outright said what she wrote in them because they were so erudite. Even drunk off her ass, flipping her middle fingers high in the air at Lisa's tea party, Taylor had balls of steel and called out whoever she wanted.

If they're looking to get rid of dead weight, they need not look further than Kim Richards. She has the same conversations with Kyle every third episode and her trifling ass is just a waste of a Bravo salary that could be spread between the other 'Hos who work for their money.

I think Camille is pretty much done unless she's willing to be Season 1 Camille, the REAL Camille.

  12. Thrilled to hear Duchess Yolanda and, yes, Taylor are both returning. Taylor was hilarious last season with her drunken antics calling people out on their nonsense. To me, she completely redeemed herself. She kept her nose clean when it concerned The Queen, who even seemed to like 'ol Taylor...so I am all for her returning.

I just want to see the complete and utter destruction of Splits on the next season.

  13. Yeah Wig was lying a lot back then, I remember I think it was Reunion S2 when Lisa told Wih straight out "I will fly over this table and beat your arse, u dont want to fluck with me" as she was sooooo done with Wig and her lies L:OL!

Which was rich considering Sharon Lisa Wu Sweat Hartwell's past...
