Khan, I am pretty sure that the 1985 story showed the split in Viki's personality was due to her catching ol' Vic in bed with Irene, and the 1995 version had Viki having all those nightmares and recollections about Victor, one of which was him arguing with Eugenia on the stairs. Of course, the 1995 version makes much more sense. I think there was even a 1988 version where they indicated that Niki was created when Megan was born and Victor took her away from Viki. I don't count that one. I flip flop on this. I thought the original ending of the 1995 story was perfect in having Tori as the one who killed Victor. On the other hand, I HATED that they brought Victor back alive in 2003 and wish that could be undone somehow. Sigh.

And speaking of updates.....here's the latest: "One Life to Live creator Agnes Nixon on her thoughts regarding the decision to make Viki's split personality, Niki, the result of incestuous sexual abuse by Viki's father, Victor Lord: "I had a very, very difficult father, and I based my Victor Lord on him -- and he didn’t abuse me. [Laughs] He was very unpleasant, and he spent four years of my college life telling me I had no talent as a writer, and that I had to take over his business when I graduated. I just didn’t think the abuse story was a good idea. A father’s domination of a girl child is profound -- I know it personally. I don’t think the sex aspect...well, anyway." Hmmm...I recall several articles in which Michael Malone said that Nixon agreed that the only logical way to explain Viki's alters was sexual abuse and that she gave her blessing to the storyline. The interview with Susan Bedsow Horgan on Brandon's Buzz echoes that. I am not sure why Nixon is saying what she's saying now. I mean, up until that point, the reason for Viki's split personalities was that she walked in on Irene Manning and Victor in bed, and that's a pretty lame reason to explain how her DID started.

Faux Bo! LOL!! Carl, were you watching OLTL when that story played out? I thought it was great fun. For me, it was probably the last gasp of the great Paul Rauch era. I have some old clippings from magazines and OLTL tied with Y&R for number one in the weekly ratings for the climax of that story. Do you remember the "shocking" ending of that story?

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
And in more ex-GH-er news, here is an interview with Mary O'Brien who played Heather Webber. http://tvmegasite.net/day/gh/q&a/05-28-08o%27brien.shtml There's also a link to a Brooke Bundy (Diana Taylor) interview there. Both interviews are interesting for their perspectives on the early Gloria Monty era.

Don't ask me why, but I was wondering what ever happened to Renee Anderson, who played Alexandria Quartermaine on GH. Here she is! http://www.linkedin.com/pub/renee-anderson/b/2a4/a1

Not to hijack the OLTL thread with GH talk, but I actually remember the Ice Princess story to be well plotted and paced. It was a long storyline that started with the arrival of Alexandria Quartermaine in October 1980 and ended with Luke saving the world in September 1981. All was going well until they got to that island and we were introduced to the mad scientist trying to freeze the world. Up to that point, the IP story was quite a snazzy little caper story. The Solaramite story on OLTL was just an attempt to ape GH's fast paced adventure storylines, but it was a bust. The Ivan Kipling brain chip story was playing concurrently with the Solaramite story - it was a low point in the program's history, IMO.

LOL! OK, let me see if I can recall this.....Tony Lord returned to Llanview in late 1981 and he brought an associate, Georgina Whitman (originally played by Ilene Kristen!) with him. Tony had discovered that there was an alternate fuel source under Llanfair and he came back to Llanview to mine it. It was called Solaramite. Bo became Tony's partner, and because it was such of a dud of a nowhere storyline, I really can't remember what it was all about. There was something about Tony and Bo testing Solaramite in race cars filmed on location and there were bad guys who wanted the Solaramite...and...and....zzzzzzzz.- One Life to Live Tribute Thread

You're welcome! Funny (or not so funny) story about Shelly Burch...... In 1997, Soap Opera Digest reported that Ms. Burch had been brainwashed and joined a cult and was feared dead. I kid you not! There were no quotes from any authorities or former cast mates. Yet, I was still worried, as I thought Ms. Burch to be a lovely and kind woman based on interviews she did. Well, in 1999, I was fortunate enough to attend the OLTL Fan Club event, and I asked Mr. Bob Woods directly about Ms. Burch. He shook his head in disgust and said that he too had read that story, but was happy to report that Ms. Burch was alive and well and had never joined a cult. He confirmed that she IS a nice and warm woman, and thanked me for asking about her. If you are interested in seeing for yourself that she is indeed still living her one life to live, check out her website. The woman still looks amazing! http://shellyburch.org/gallery.php- One Life to Live Tribute Thread
