  1. Scary. Everything else seems trivial and petty when side by side with a neo nazi.
  2. Hmm, I know where to find Knots seasons 1-3 and the first dozen episodes of season 4, but after that to my knowledge it isn't available.
  3. Did Falcon Crest ever come out on dvd? I always consider that the step-child of the prime time soaps. I don't think anyone under 25 would have ever even heard of it. The Knots dvds must have done poorly or else they would have released more. I wish if there wasn't a demand they would do something like kickstart it or say they will produce 1000 dvds when they get 1000 pre-orders. There are now ways to finance things if you really want to get them financed.
  4. Ted Skackleford looks terrible. His face is now skin and bones. Joan Van Ark of course looks terrible but thats to be expected. I guess it sort of speaks to the lack of interest in the show that it' 35th anniversary was celebrated on a show most people never heard of on a channel most people would probably have trouble finding. Sad.
  5. To be honest, I only knew the name Janice Dickenson, and even then only vaguely as someone marginally famous from reality TV. I have no idea what show she is on, but I would never watch it and I am shocked you are so familiar with her and whatever she is that she is famous for. I honestly dont know why you talked about her all this time. Anyway, I don't think Beverly Johnson broke the dam, the dam was broken weeks ago the moment it went on the front page and not the gossip page. And I don't know who everyone here knows, but since the story broke I have yet to meet even a single person who even pretended to think he might be innocent. It was obvious the guy was guilty all along the moment more than three people came forward.
  6. I love the theme from the early 80s. I loved so many, but two that always stand out for me are Eterna and the two Bos. Eterna gets a bad rap, but it is straight up, unashamed, movie serial shenanigans from start to finish. The Two Bos featured the wonderful Lois Kibbee as evil Elizabeth Sanders and a death trap I loved: all the Buchanan men trapped in a room with sliding doors and walls sealing them in as poison gas gets pumped in to kill them.
  7. Great episode for the most part. I think my favorite scene was Dawn and Beth vs the cop and when Dawn screamed for Beth to help. The actress who played Dawn was really good. I felt sad when Beth died because she was truly nice and it seemed like she was about to be rescued but then Dawn had to have a final act of malice on Noah. Still, better Beth than Carol. Father idiot I took his crying solo scenes as a sign to go to the bathroom. Completely worthless character. He is in competition with Tyrese and Abrahan for not only worst characters on the show, but perhaps on all of TV. Tyrese actually isn't ashamed to admit he let that guy from Terminus go? I would be. Nice to see Maggie get that scene at the end and the actress did a good job.
  8. It's different. Sean Penn has the rep for being crazy, society allows rock stars to be drug addled messes who break laws routinely. Bill Cosby's persona was sainthood and sitcom dad, and you watch, society will not tolerate the behavior out of him that it would out of others.
  9. Does it really matter? We got to watch Lori, Andrea, Merle and whoever for two years or longer so their deaths and the characters reaction to them resonate. One of the best scenes of the entire series was Daryl seeing zombie Merle. You say Karen died a few weeks ago? I don't even know who Karen is. Is that Tyrese's phantom girlfriend, the under five role? Be honest, do you remember anything about her? So, since the role was so inconsequential, it is foolish to devote so much time to characters reacting to her not being here anymore. She wasn't even here when she was here.
  10. What a dull episode, it was like a who's who of who is depressed. Tyrese was bad enough, but his sister seems to be dumber than he is. That's his sister, right? I honestly don't know why Rick would recruit these two losers and leave Carl and Michonne home. Then we have to cut to dull as dirt Abraham, who apparently has very durable knees. His pain is ridiculous. Then if that isn't bad enough it's time to check in on the perpetually on the brink of suicide priest and his bullshit. Not a single one of these characters offers anything to the show except Readers Digest depth one dimensional faux-angst. I still don't know what Tyreae babbles on about this great love he lost--a great love who appeared in one episode and got a dialogue and a half tops. The sister knew Bob maybe four episodes and yet this is her defining moment. Meanwhile, Carl shot his mother and you don't see him yammering on boring everyone he meets. I really hope all four die so the show can get to showcasing exciting or interesting characters, not refugees from some ersatz Oprah self analysis symposium of crap.
  11. That was how Lance Armstrong did it.
  12. Isn't the telltale sign he is guilty the fact that he isn't threatening to sue everybody and every media outlet for slandering him? If these were lies he would be fighting back hard.
  13. Obama's place in history is secured: He is the first black president. Other than that he will not be seen as a terribly great nor terribly poor president. He tried to accomplish his agenda, he had terrible relations with congress, got saddled with a terrible crisis, and in the end he did the best he could. He won't be up there with FDR or Lincoln, if that is what you hoped might happen.
  14. I never said I should be on a jury. Juries are for courtrooms, common sense is for everyone else. According to the jury O.J. Simpson didn't kill his wife, I know better than that jury and I have no proof. You wait and see until you have seen enough. I've seen enough. If I am wrong, I am wrong.
  15. That looks to be the biggest fairytale movie ever, and not dark like whatever that Snow White movie was. I bet every little girl will love that.
  16. I knew he was guilty yesterday and the day before yesterday. Common sense says he is guilty, unless we are to believe there is this giant conspiracy were these dozen women --who don't know each other--all are part of this anti-Cosby cabal decades in the making. Yesterday you were on some illogical tangent about race politics, but this has nothing to do with race. Which brings me back to my comment yesterday about Whoopi Goldberg and her campaign to defend all celebrity criminals--the guy did it. The only way Cosby is innocent is if Robert Culp's ghost, jealous at the fame and fortune Cosby received and he did not, came back from the grave and possessing all these women to say these things. It's possible I guess, but unlikely. I don't know who all these ladies are, but Janice Dickenson is someone with her own minor fame and fortune, and she is not about to throw her good name away making a lie about a beloved cultural figure that people would not want to believe in the first place. There is no upside to that.
  17. This thread is wildly off topic and there does seem to be an attempt to drive one person off. That's a little naive, Vixen. Everybody on earth knew it.
  18. Whoopi Goldberg is so detestable and disgusting, racing to defend every criminal she can find. 14 women now have come forward and she has questions for the women, and then on a women's talk show to imply there is something fishy because they didn't run right to the police...hasn't Whoopi listened to 20 years worth of Oprah lectures about how often women don't report it? First it was the dog killer, Michael Vick, and how he being the Eichmann of dogs was a actually a black thing, then it was her idiotic defense of Mel Gibson, and now here she is again. How many times must this woman be wrong before ABC asks her to shut up?
  19. You are completely wrong. He's not the first. He isn't even the millionth to pass judgment, and that was his entire point. People can try to excuse everything as "culture" but if you don't think literally everyone who doesn't say "where you is?" is passing judgment on those who do, you're being a little naive. And that was his point. Nobody will ever hire a doctor who says "who you is" and he wants to see black kids grow up to be doctors. And this apparently was a great wrong on his part. As for the rape stuff, probably true, but that doesn't mean anything he said is suddenly invalid or wrong. People fought hard for Brown v Board Of Ed. , and what, they fought so future generations could not go to school and say "why you ain't"? If that's the case those people fought for nothing, and that is the tragedy.
  20. Yeah, maybe they are cutting back on light bulbs to save money or something. Other than that I liked the episode. Daryl and Carol are two of the pillars of the show and an episode featuring both of them together is a treat. They were going to be the romantic couple it seemed like and I don't think they shared two minutes worth of screen time in the past year. She has been saddled with waste of time Tyrese, and he had pretty light story and airtime. They wasted a week on Abraham and mullet man when the show would have been better showing more of Daryl and Carol, or checking in on Carl and Michonne. They make a formidable team, and neither one has to carry the weight for the other and each one can take out walkers and people. It seemed briefly like Daryl and Beth was a direction the show might take but this week reinforced that Carol is the one for Daryl (or should be). I am just slightly miffed that they need Rick's help here, because he will now steal all the glory and cool killing scenes when it should be Carol, Daryl and Beth.
  21. NYC vs Texas? We are healthier in NY. While TX has family values NYers don't divorce as much as the so-called heartland. We are better educated, don't allow Jesus freaks to tell us what should be in text books. We don't all walk around with rifles and submachine guns, and we don't demand that all poor people go to back alleys with wire hangers. We don't deny science, we don't sneer at people who go to college, we don't execute everyone including seemingly jaywalkers. We don't seek to deny everyone healthcare. Our crime rates are the lowest in the nation. We see Sarah Palin is the freak that she is, not someone to emulate. Why anyone would choose Texas is beyond me.
  22. Dull episode. I FFed huge chunks, the Abraham flashbacks and the dark scenes. I just don't care about Abraham and wasn't the slightest bit curious about him or his past. Eugene? Eh, his reveal didn't throw me much because I don't feel Abraham's pain no matter what it is. I felt sorry for Maggie and Glenn, who now have to walk 15 freaking miles back home.
  23. I believe I read that many economists say one of the reason the economy is what it is is that Obama's stimulus just wasn't big enough so it didn't do all that it could. I was reading the country was at its boomiest when the highest tax rate was 70%. There is no actual factual data to show that low tax rates lead to boom times. The whole concept of job creators is a myth, as taxes have been cut to the bone for years and yet unemployment was still sky high.
  24. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are race baiting hate mongers. I don't blame you for voting against them. I am not asian, but if leaders of one party said that crap about my ethnic group I wouldn't vote for them either.
  25. Wait Max, you--a republican--are complaining about deficit spending? The whole Reagan religion is built on deficit spending, creating deficits out of whole cloth all so tax breaks could be given to the rich. George Bush Sr. called it Voodoo Economics, and for the past 35 years this has been the very foundation of conservative economic thought. The debt is up but that isn't going to come down til surpluses start coming--something we had under Bill Clinton but republicans decided what was needed was yet another round of tax cuts, turning the surplus into deficits presto chango,
