Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Mauricio looked a complete tool. "I think it's great what she said." Oh? Really? How is "get the f*ck outta here" great exactly? He's never been the sharpest tool in the shed. Also Dorit "one hundred percent" making it clear that as it was someone else's kid, it was a-ok, but not her own, of course. One rule for the clique, another for everyone else. Erika has these women running scared. But mostly it's about working an angle, and currently it suits Kyle and Dorit to back Diana and Erika if it means sticking it to Sutton / Garcelle. Fools. Like @Chris B I also think Kyle got advance word. She said when this season started that this might be her last, and I wondered whether something was coming up which made her look bad. Well, now we know. And it's two different scenes in the same episode. Oh well. There go our theories of Kyle and Garcelle quietly working together, lol.

...And BH just gets ever more toxic. All this to tear down Sutton and Garcelle.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
The Warlocks of Eastwick cackling over this. Dorit was "sick to my stomach" over what Erika said but now it's a-ok? You know if either Erika or Garcelle ever cussed out Portia or Jagger, the Kemsleys and Umanskys would be in an uproar over how unacceptable that is. Erika's pick-up technique is almost identical to her 'reprimanding children' technique. In other words, pretty bone-chilling. For me, it was Erika's swearing at 14-year old Jax -- who did absolutely nothing wrong and was very sweet to say it was NBD. Erika's drunkenness was probably why Garcelle kept it cool and brief. Erika does need to apologize for talking that way to him. The actual incident could be easily resolved with a sincere apology, but no doubt Erika's bad attitude will turn this A Thing. A rude non-apology-apology beckons, and probably some sneer about how kids are already f**king at 12 and know all the swear-words. Erika will act like Garcelle asking for an apology is the biggest, most personal insult against her ever. Lest we forget how Erika reacted when Eileen dared mention her son:

@Chris B Like you, I think Kyle is waiting to see how the Kathy allegations are received and if Kathy can defend herself adequately in the court of public opinion. Then she will decide if she sides with one over the other. My guess is she is kind of over the Coven and Rinna, and if there were no scandal and she had to choose, it would be Kathy, Garcelle and Sutton. Kyle can see where the popularity winds are blowing currently, and Kathy's addition last year really cemented Kyle's position on the show and brought some goodwill her way. @NothinButAttitude Your news that Kathy will be attending was a complete surprise! It suggests that she wants to fight the allegations. I was so sure she would fold in order to try to make the scandal disappear. Also the leaking to the press about Rinna. I never considered it might be Kathy, but to see this Rinna mess written about on major media sites, outside of the usual RH blogs, is pretty significant. This scandal is attempting to go mainstream and Rinna may find that not all publicity is good publicity. Kyle mentioned something about 2 months ago how this might be her last season, so she could go if the backlash gets too hot. From the POV of the show, I think Kyle leaving would be a major loss. I also think that she would miss it. I have always viewed her as chief villain, but she and her sisters' stories have completely shaped the show since Day One, and I have to acknowledge that. BH would be bereft of that Old Hollywood secrets/New Reality Stardom glamour. Kyle still has the best house and connections out of all the cast. She is practically the narrator of the show. Who can fill that splits-shaped hole? Not Dorit, Erika or Rinna, that's for sure.

@Chris B @NothinButAttitude I also think that Rinna has finally crossed into liability territory for Bravo. I cannot see the network being excited about yet another drama occurring offscreen involving Rinna's poisonous targeting of Garcelle, whom the network promotes as one of its most popular RH stars. My worry is that we are not even halfway through the season and the main event is still to come. Kathy has yet to appear! Rinna loves a distraction and this will be it. Will we forget the attacks on Garcelle as we get absorbed into sister drama and a new accusation of bigotry? I think Kathy will refuse to attend Reunion. Consequently -- and given that Diana and Rinna have been working overtime to bring Garcelle into the Sutton-Crystal-Diana mess -- IA with @NothinButAttitude. Reunion will be a shitshow. Garcelle and Sutton have been strong and tough this season, but I'm worried about the toxicity coming their way. Especially Garcelle! I don't know if I want to watch that. What's interesting is that Kyle is the wild card. @Chris B you touched on this: Kyle & Garcelle's relationship. @Chris B pointed out the likelihood that Kyle told Garcelle about Rinna's comment last season. Now, Kyle likes being on good terms with the entire cast so she can glean their secrets and use them as ammo, but between G and Kyle, there seems to be a silent pact. The number of times this season they have come together to quietly pot-stir in the same conversation, or mediate a fight together, makes me wonder what is going on. Kyle is trying to work Sutton, but came out much more strongly against Crystal than even Garcelle. And she may have briefed Garcelle about Rinna. What does THAT mean for the Coven? Where does Kyle stand regarding Rinna trying to sink Kathy (Kathy, for whom Garcelle has shown support) ? Is she turning against Rinna? Or playing all sides against each other?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
It boggles the mind that this is the hill Rinna wants to die on -- supposedly defending Diana's shitty post, a woman she has little personal warmth or loyalty towards. But Diana has money, so she says, so that absolves her of her behavior in Rinna's mind. Rinna and Erika are as vacuous and as morally spent as that lip-licking fool. I'm not even a Sutton fan, but they are leaving me exhausted with their nasty little agendas. I hope this is the final straw for them.

Ha! Ariel and I have something in common. Thank you for the book recommendation. I like that it deals with loss on a daily basis via practical advice.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Rinna's obvious hatred of Garcelle and overwhelming need to steal the spotlight got her into this mess. She couldn't leave well enough alone -- this was Diana's mess, not her's, but I guess seeing Garcelle on WWHL set her off. She knows Garcelle is popular with fans, Andy, and Bravo, and it clearly drives her nuts. Confronting Garcelle is what she is dying to do. She referenced it in her IG post. Then decided to take a shot at Dubai, the lower-performing franchise which features black and brown women. She's too cowardly to cite Atlanta or Potomac, of course. But I think we can all surmise why she mentioned that show in the context of Garcelle. Rinna is really trash.

@Tonksadora I'm so sorry Omicron took your BFF / sister. I wish hospital treatment had been able to save her life. This is not a benign virus, no matter how much we and our leaders wish it were. I hope your grief eases and that your wonderful memories of your friend provide solace and strength. I hope your writing helps you to commemorate her and brings you peace. @Taoboi @DramatistDreamer Thank you so much for your kind words! I am better now, and i count myself lucky to have been vaccinated 3 times. But it has made me more on guard again. I let my guard down and convinced myself this was now no big deal, it was 'bad cold' status. It was only after testing positive that first time and having to call family, colleagues, friends I may have been in contact with that i understood what it might mean to be inadvertently responsible for another person's misfortune. Luckily it turned out they were negative, but it could have been a different story.

BudgetGhislaineMaxwell going after Garcelle this morning -- not sure WTF triggered her! She seems to think that her philanthropic efforts are somehow common knowledge. Sorry for posting so much today -- Twitter is throwing up lots of RH stuff. The RHusbandsONJ calendar IN FULL:

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Diana has flopped from the get. However, she really solidified it with this week's episode. I had some sympathy when she talked about her brother buried in a mass grave... and I can also see why Diana might interpret Sutton trying to bring the convo back to herself. But she lost me with this obsessive targeting of Sutton and, strangely, Garcelle whom she views as "Sutton's bodyguard." 🤔 Diana is too blinkered and stupid to realize that (a) Garcelle is running the show with her expert pot-stirring -- on a par with Kyle's -- and (b) G is not impressed by or interested in Diana in any way. IA with both of you that BudgetGhislaineMaxwell gives off this dark spirit -- a moral hollowness, like GM herself. She has acquired things instead of a personality. Walking into Garcelle's party with her mail-order toyboy, both dressed as ghouls, hissing "It's dead indeed" ? Irony is lost on her -- she's the dead-weight on the show. If I didn't believe the rumors before, I do now. London is full of them regarding her ex-husband and a divorce settlement (allegedly) involving dubious foreign money. Sheree came on and fired up her scenes. She has real potential.

The fact that BH has this rep amongst the other RH franchises of fakery, pulling its punches and fearful of confrontation warms my evil little heart. It restores balance to the RH universe.

Africa called and they want their lips back This is why I love Chanel Ayan! I'm so glad some of the Dubai women threw it right back at her. We get it, BH gets the big ratings, and Dubai does not. Why sh!t on them for no reason? Trust and believe BH's ratings are not because of Rinna. She wasn't even on last episode. Which is probably why she pulled this 'not racist' issue out of her ass on social media -- because nobody missed her. But way to shine your anti-racist credentials by taking a pot-shot at both Garcelle and RHODubai.

Is Kyle's ass-kissing as horrific as Erika's brown-nosing in the hopes of free jewellery and a job in Room 24? I haven't watched the episode yet. Kyle's M.O. has bee the same for years, and I'm stunned she hasn't modified it. After carefully cultivating the Sutton relationship for +3 years, Kyle is a fool to throw her and her solid Pimco billions over for the (potential) legal liability that may one day be the Budget Ghislaine Maxwell.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Agree on both Vicki and Dorinda. I can't really stomach Vicki now, whereas about a week ago, I was advocating for her return to OC. Her negativity is exhausting, and her dark aura is subsuming Tamra. Dorinda? I was worried I'd be like "Dorinda can stay gone from RHONY" but I still have some time for her. Not sure she has learned from her last season on RHONY, but I do think she is trying to be someone who embraces other people. When she loves you, she loves you, and when she hates you, it is over for you! We still have about 6 more episodes of RHUGT2 to go, though. You are so right about Taylor's 90s Bobbi Brown dark lip -- I also cannot wear that color. It sucks all the light out of your face and ages you a good decade. Other than that, I enjoy her Voice of Reason. Brandi was on WWHL yesterday and basically named Jill, Dorinda, etc., as the thirstiest cast members wanting to return to Bravo. It's ironic that she did not name herself. She actively campaigned for a return to BH (the audience backlash was huge re: the Demise rumors) and later went on WWHL with Kelly Dodd where they pretended to be BFFs so she could get on OC. Do you think negotiations include having her return to RHOA? Weren't there the BET Awards on Sunday night also? That may explain the ratings for RHOA. Good for Nene and College Hill, though! As for RHOA, I am enjoying the season thus far. The shift between Kandi and the other women is holding my interest. Marlo is working overtime to be messy, which is a little much. The season in some ways is more light-hearted and enjoyable than last year -- it's a breezy watch, but it needs a little fairy dust (I think it needs Porsha or even Nene to pep it up). Like Sanya talking about having a baby with her husband... I tuned out. How many times has a scene like this been on a RH show? Drop It With Drew was LOL. Drew is the butt of everyone's jokes this year (mine included), but her nerdy, earnest energy this episode was kind of fun to watch.

I'm sure Robert Earl and the iconic Mr. Chow -- both of whom have built billion-dollar companies and with whom the Kemsleys would die to do business -- LOVED hearing that. PK always runs his mouth without thinking, and now he has insulted 3 important people at once. And let's not pretend PK isn't in LVP's decade. He was born in 1967 and she in 1960. Only 7 years separate them. (FYI, Robert Earl was born in 1951 -- PK & Dorit were desperately kissing his ass in Season 10 -- and Mr. Chow in 1939! So Mr. Chow is 83 years young and STILL very much thriving. It's a boomer world and we just live in it). LVP just needs to not say a word and live life well, because that is the best revenge. The campily-grifting Kemsleys will, I am sure, trip up yet again.

I have no problem with OC packing the cast, as long as they pack the cast with quality. And for God's sake, bring back Tamra and perhaps someone else (Alexis? Gretchen?) from back in the day, because newbies on OC can't seem to tell their ass from their elbow. As for TayShanna, I think there was a feeling that she brought a lot of darkness onto BH, and that everything in her life had an aspect of questionability. Certainly in S3 she was viewed as the weak link: Brandi and Yolanda targeted her (she was BFFs with Linda Thompson, so Yo was triggered) and Kyle threw her under the bus to make herself look good. I remember Pam/Dana telling her "These women will never love you because they are too busy loving themselves" (ICONIC moment). Given the dark mess of S4 which followed, yeah, I would have kept Taylor as she struggled with going from Kyle's pawn to finding her own voice and strength. Instead, it felt like 'Oh, Russell is no longer beating you? OK, you can go.' ETA: I admit back in the day, I was part of the problem. I didn't know what was good for the show. I thought Taylor and Russell were grifters in S1-2 (with good reason). The social-climbers trying to get in with a fancy social circle and pretend they were something they weren't. Taylor asking Adrienne to be 'godmother' to Kennedy exemplified this. However, in S3, as she started being phased out, I was like 'oh wait, no!' I realised that having a vulnerable yet determined social-climber on the show wasn't such a bad thing! BH was -- and should have stayed being -- about the haves and the wannabes. The feel of the show had a touch of the original 90210 that way. When it got into glam squads, fake TV wealth and scripted talking points in place of power dynamics between women -- that is when the show went wrong. Clearly, cast members were renting fancy clothes and Ferraris to pretend they were a lot richer than they actually are. It's fine to be middle-class in Beverly Hills, you know? It's still better than 90% of the country, and there's no need to pretend to be ostentatiously Super-Rich all of the time. Apparently, according to her PR, Diana is the richest person to ever be cast on BH? And yet she is giving me zero energy and zero taste! Anyhoo, in conclusion, i would love to see Taylor back on BH or OC, lol.

RHUGT 2: Having heard the rumors, I was trepidatious about watching a show devolving into a hot drunken mess. But I was pleasantly surprised by the structure to the HWs' days. And by some of the HWs themselves. Love Eva, Phaedra and Taylor. Eva surprised me: she has the right positive energy and strength to hold the cast together. So does Phaedra. If Phaedra returns to ATL, I'd be down with it. She has the right mix of kooky with reasonableness and humor. Taylor also had this calmness, strength and sensitivity that I always felt grounded BH. TayShana was let go too soon and BH wanting to prioritise wealth and fame has never recovered. On the fence: Dorinda, Jill, Tamra. Dorinda wants to return to RHONY triumphant, and that is clear. Not sure she has reflected enough on her behaviour though I do like her hosting the show. We will see if she goes full pantomime with her RH persona. Jill always worked best as a pot-stirrer one on one. She can't marshall a group, or maybe she has mellowed since RHONY. Tamra is too cautious and wedded to Vicki who drags her down. I wanted Vicki to return to OC, but now I'm not so sure. Negative Nelly. Brandi, I wanted to dislike, and it's early days still. But grudgingly she Is winning me over. When she's not an evil drunken crazy person, she can be charming, winning and funny. A natural heroine almost. I miss that energy from BH. But not her other hang-ups. We will see.

The indignity that those 6-7 justices lording it over us right now include Handmaid Crazy-Eyes, Drunken Fratboy and the sleaze with the QAnon wife. Totally agree! Whose life am I inconveniencing when I go to the pharmacy to get birth-control? Or make an appointment with an OB-0GYN for possibly a check-up, possibly to arrange a termination? Nobody! This is just Christian virtue signalling -- I'm Chrishun, I'm Chrishun! Look how good I am! I'm bossing you around in the Name of the Lord! A distraction tactic to get one over the libs and avoid dealing with the many problems we face today. Total bullshit. ETA: I remember talking with a friend who is a nurse in MO, and she said there is already a shortage of OB-GYNs there, especially those with childbirth experience/speciality. So a ruling like this further imperils women's and unborn babies' lives as demand for OB-GYNs grows. How did he phrase it?

Just horrifying in every way that 5 people's private, cult extremist religious views have now been imposed on a population of 329mn who do not in the main share that view. These monsters pretend to care about the 'sanctity of life' but what about the sanctity of lives lost to gun violence? Or to dangerous, back-alley abortions? It's such a hypocrisy, I want to throw up! ETA: *And by 5, I mean 7, of course. 😥 This whole look screams 1938 Bavarian Master Race cosplay.

BH @NothinButAttitude Diana, aka Budget Alleged Ghislaine Maxwell, does nothing for me either. This bored random with her parched voice and licking lips. She says she doesn't like Garcelle? Does anybody in the cast truly like her, though? Apart from Erika I-need-a-job-and-a-sugar-daddy Girardi. Can we get Yolanda back instead? BH is apparently going like gangbusters in the ratings, though. Kudos to the show! DUBAI I also agree that Caroline Stanbury is doing minimal work (except perhaps when her kids are on-screen). The rest of the cast is putting in effort and giving us their home-life, work, petty rivalries and personal back stories. Stanbury thinks she can coast this, but RHODubai would probably not miss a beat if she decided to check out. I am really enjoying the show and the slice-of-life view of what is going on in each women's lives. Sara's viewpoint in particular (and wow, did Brooks reference Sara pre-plastic surgery? Shady!). The ratings are not high, however. A US TV audience may be largely uninterested in shows set in foreign locales, and it isn't highly dramatic. Ladies of London, too, struggled to find an audience outside of some core fans. I wonder if it would be better if RHUGHT were on Bravo, but RHODubai were on Peacock where a worldwide audience could access it immediately. I think RHOMiami reboot may have benefited from some foreign viewers streaming the show and getting included in its ratings. Every time one of the BH women is on WWHL, LVP gets brought up. It's either Andy being obsessive, or she lives rent-free in the Coven's head. It's so weird! With that text-message mess, LVP was damned if she did, damned if she didn't. Dorit initially tried to say that LVP didn't reach out and boohoo, isn't she cruel. Then LVP ponied up her text receipts. Then the narrative changed to, oh, it wasn't the right kind of text message and why didn't Lisa follow up with a phone call? Leave her be, already. You got her off the show, mission accomplished. Just hug your kids and be grateful that it was only your Fucci (Fake Gucci) collection those people stole.
