  1. Another wonderful Sharon episode. Her scenes with Lucy were so touching and sad. I felt Sharon's loss, pain, and lonely over losing Dennis. I hope that Ian does not give up his businesses and properties to Lucy. She will probably lose it all. Shirley is such a doormat for Phil. She is so desperate to keep him.
  2. I did not like those Shirley/Ben scenes either. I thought Ben trying to pull off Shirley's ring was comical. However, I am glad that Shirley knows the truth.
  3. The kidnapping was rubbish, but Sharon was wonderful in yesterday's episode. The scenes with Phil, her instant spark with Jack, and touching reunion with Ian were well done. It is great having Sharon back. I am looking forward to seeing her champion Ian and making connections around the Square. She and Jack are a promising couple. I am watching regularly again.
  4. Other than peeking in for Nikhil/Gennie and David who are rarely ever on, I am done with Emmerdale. It is rubbish.
  5. I have liked Andrew from his other work and I think that he does a great job as Rick. It is hard to play the good hat, always agonizing over making the right choice. It is much easier to be the villain like Shane or even ambiguous like Daryl. Yet Andrew has done very well with Rick as he underwent the transformation into the Rick that killed Shane and then exploded at the group for challenging his decision to stay put in the finale. I completely agree. I have no problem with killing off characters if there is emotional turmoil that takes the show and its characters in another direction, but randomly killing off characters for no reason is just laziness. Of course, it is unrealistic that everyone will survive in such a dangerous environment, but really the most likely to die are the children and elderly who are by far the ones unable to physically take care of themselves. So I would expect that Herschel and Carl would be the ones most likely to die next. As Lori's pregnancy advances, she too will become extremely physically vulnerable. She will be unable to run or maneuver quickly when zombies or human attackers pursue them.
  6. I will be crushed if Glenn dies. Last time I checked he and Maggie were still alive in the comics. I bet Kirkman killed off Glen for no reason, same reason that he would even consider killing off RIck. This is one time, I hope that the show does it differently. I can't believe that I am saying this, but I rather that they kill off T-Dog die. He is the minority character that they don't give anything to do. I really hope we see Morgan and Dwayne again. I love Lennie James who played Morgan. I am glad that you are healed of your gore aversion. There is nothing more fun than cringing and partially covering your face as you watch a zombie eat off someone's face. LOL!
  7. [!@#$%^&*]. I just watched the trailer for season 3. Now I cannot wait. TWD rocks! Season 3 looks like it is going to be even better than the last one. Full of violence, action, drama, and betrayal. Merle returns. We get 16 episodes. October 14th cannot come soon enough.
  8. LOL! Nathalie Emmanuel was pretty horrific on Hollyoaks. Let's see how she does on Game of Thrones. Jojen Reed is played by the kid from Love Actually. He has grown up. All this casting news has made me very excited for the upcoming season. Although there are even more characters now. I only watched the first YT video with the introductions. Very cool.
  9. No one else loving Nikhil and Gennie? His proposal was hysterical as he painful eat carbs for love. LOL! Other than David and Alicia (too bad she is leaving for awhile), the rest of the show is a nightmare. What they have done to Ashley is disgraceful! I went from enjoying Chas and Cameron's affair to becoming ill. I don't mind Jai cheating on Charity, but Rachel, come on...
  10. You are right, but here is my final response: No one ever referred to George Bush I or II as "Georgie" or Mitt Romney as "Mittie." It is not a coincidence that you call the President, "Barry" and Charles Rangel, "Charlie." You and your ilk do it because it is killing you that you can no longer call them "boy" or worse.
  11. Dire. The teens are the weakest part of the show at the moment.
  12. "Barry?" Really? Even I didn't refer to the Republican presidents that I disliked like that. These are the moments that you unintentional unknowingly reveal yourselves. And here is a tip, it is called the Affordable Care Act. You all sound like fools ranting on about "Obamacare." I can't even figure out how you jumped on to health care and frankly, I don't care. The rest of the post is typical conservative incoherent rambling. Small business owner? Please. The only business you conservatives love is your fellow corporations and the one percent. You have no use for small businesses. Never have and never will.
  13. More selective editing and deflecting. What else is a guy to do when he is constantly shown up to be wrong. Here something else for you selectively edit. Romney is unlikeable because he is disingenuous 1 percenter who disregard and dislike for the struggling middle class and the poor comes shining through. No one who thinks that corporations are people has a soul and people sense it. Glad that you think that Obama is the "cool guy." I am not his biggest fan, but he is a damn sight better than that Romney which is the grand scheme of things is pretty sad.
  14. Seriously, are we supposed to cry over Romney's Republican bigoted racist base have no enthusiasm for him and not voting hm? As they say, you dance with the one's who brung ya. Romney can't win, period. It doesn't matter that he is a Mormon or who he picks to be his VP. Romney and his 1% friends are trying to buy this election, but they won't succeed. They can't fight that he comes off downright unlikeable or that his love for his fellow people corporation is scuzzy or the reality of the changing demographics of this country (there are only so many white males to rally around him). Btw, Charles Rangel is not any better or any worse than his fellow corrupt politicians in Congress (read the Washington Post's ongoing series on the financial dealings using insider information by members of Congress). I guess, whinging over him makes you happy. I'll add about Rangel. He was a great man once. He was active in the Civil Rights Movement and risked his life to march with Dr. King. Goes to show how almost anyone can be corrupted by power and money.
  15. Riley definitely does not come off well in this story, but I am giving him a break for believing Mercy because it is a plot device and I am willing to think that it is guilt on his part. After all, even Mitzeee is not sure what happened. Mercy is playing them both at the moment. I just adore Mitzeee. I love how she goes from looking glamorous to looking like the girl next door with barely any make up and sweats. She really is a sweet girl. Riley needs to man up and show that he is worthy of her love and devotion.
  16. I am loving Hollyoaks at the moment. I just love Mitzee and Riley. Mercedes stalking Mitzee and stabbing herself is a great story. My only problem is what the actress who plays Mercedes has done to her face. Now we have the murder mystery over Lyndsey's death.
  17. Frankly, I think that the Democrats and their supporters have been amazingly restrained about commenting on Romney's religion. Polls have shown that there a large swaths of people in this country who don't believe that Mormonism is a Christian denomination and many believe that it is a cult. In fact, the most virulent attacks on Mormonism have been from evangelical Christians, the Republicans' base. If Romney was a Democrat, they would never hold back like the Democrats have with Romney. Those evangelical Christian pastors would be ripping Romney apart much like they did questioning if Obama really was a Christian. Republican politicians would be making snide comments and remaining silent with tacit while their supporters asked questions and made ugly comments about Romney's religion.
  18. No one should take Politico seriously. Like the rest of the mainstream media, Politico needs stir the pot to keep people from both sides reading. All the articles and many of conservative opinion columns in the NY Times, Washington Post, etc. are trying to find the positive for the Republicans. if the decision had gone the other way, the articles would be about how the Democrats are now galvanized to right back and the enthusiasm for Obama's re-election had increase, yada, yada. So predictable. For what it is worth, the Times and Post's editorial did completely support the SCOTUS health care decision. Roberts is getting the positive publicity that he obviously craved with his vote. It should buy him so goodwill as he and his conservative cronies continue to vote in favor of corporations and their allies over the 99%.
  19. Reagan was a horrible president so that he is any type of hero to the Republicans is appropriate. I cringe with Obama flatters Reagan, but then again, Obama makes me cringe a lot so that works. Demonizing has nothing to do with it. Roberts is a right-wing wacko. The fact that he went the other way on this ONE important judgment does not change the damage that he has done in previous rulings like Citizens United which basically sold the every politician and election to the 1%. Besides given how the opinion was written and the rumors swirling suggests that Roberts was looking towards his legacy fearful that the lack of respect of the court and its low reputation would continue to grow.
  20. Kudos to TPM
  21. Shocking decision, especially after that ugly courtroom drama. Roberts voted to make it a majority which is an even bigger shock.
  22. But Cersei does not sleep with Jaime or Lancel out of dynastic necessity. She does so because she has some weird pathology. She and Jaime kept their sexual relationship a secret because they knew that it was unacceptable. She was unfaithful to Robert and produced sons for her brother. If Robert had found out, he would have put all of them to death and the kingdom would have cheered. I am putting the rest of my comments in spoilers because they relate to the book. Historically, while incest is taboo in most societies, there have been periods where incest was practiced by ordinary people as well. Incest with full-siblings is rare, but marriages of half-siblings and first cousins have occurred far more often than most people think. We just know the famous ones.
  23. Tyrion is the best as is Peter Dinklage. I love how Peter Dinklage does that speech. There is this amazing moment after he says, "those are brave men knocking at our door." He pauses and gives this painful grimace and then says, "let's go kill them!" I was literally standing up and cheering. I hope that Peter is nominated in the Best Actor category this time and that he deservedly wins another Emmy.
  24. What Julia said. I was guilty as well. However, I think that you can easily skip those posts.
  25. Glad that you have discovered the wonderfulness that is the Game of Thrones. It is one of the best shows on tv right now. I just love it. Yes, there is some book talk on the thread, but not too much.
