  1. I didn't dislike Danielle like others, at least not at first. I felt they were ALL ganging up on her not just Teresa despite table-throwings and pushing Andy down. From what her friends and family are saying, she's been like this for a while (the bitter jealousy she holds by accusing everybody of ripping her and her husband off in some way or another when they a achieve success) to a point so I can't argue with what you're saying at heart - but I think it's blown up bigger due to certain factors including the show going to her head and the money issues.

I do get your best-friend point, but right now Kyle sucks on-screen so by clique association so does Lisa - at least when she's around Kyle. When she's not, she's still pretty cool.

  2. I enjoy RHONJ, RHOBH and RHOATL, The others are so-so.

Theresa. My theory about why she's gone so balls to the wall bitch is she's doing it to fix her and her husbands finances. Stirring crap makes you more appealing to the magazines. Talking crap in a book sells more books. I didn't think I would like her family members more than her at the beginning of this season but that is how it worked.

Kyle has a functioning brain. Kim doesn't. I somewhat excuse Kim's behavior because of that big difference, she's clearly become mentally challenged for some reason or another. Kyle, on the other hand, enabling and encouraging her sisters stupidity this season? Sigh. Lisa is almost as bad. I don't like saying that about Lisa especially after that great dishwasher line, lol. Maybe it's because Brandi is friends with her former pool boy? Save Dana the pathetic lap dog follower, I can at least tell occasionally that the other woman sense something is wrong with what's going on from Kyle and Kim's end.

Camille is boring this season. I still like her, hopefully she gets a personality outside of Kelsey's bitter ex next season and maybe stirs some crap too.

  3. What gets me is how cracked out Kim is, even in her Talking Heads. It's so sad watching how much Brandi was bullied, yet EVERYBODY seems to be lying when they tell the story of what happened. Then you have Brandi believing it and actually trying to apologize, yet they're giving her trouble. What a pack of wolves. I will say, I do love that with every negative comment Brandi does seem aware and apologizes. Like the comment about Dana's fiance. She immediately apologized and even did again in her Talking Head. That's rare for a show like this.

I wish Brandi was more secure because she'd hands down win the fights with the idiot sisters and their pack IF she was more confident. I'm not talking about in terms of verbal replies, but just by not letting them get under her skin. Kim and Kyle are so wrong (and mentally disabled for some reason in Kim's case) that it's not even worth making the effort.

  4. Michael Cambius story clip heaven put up by RetroBinxMontgomery on Youtube about a month ago. Actually, a lot of clips that are more so Binx related but not exclusively.

This clip I'm bringing up because I could swear the guy with Pete at the beginning is Trevor St. John. No? Yes? The voice is totally TSJ.

  5. Carl, she was, I believe. She was out by the early summer of 2009. Maybe she was paying a visit to the set on the final day?

I'm trying to see if I recognize anybody besides the actors. JBW (Casting Director) is next to Alicia. JHC (EP) is in a corner. Glasses and black shirt/jeans woman (front, right) is writer Addie Walsh, I think, or whatever the name of LB's right-hand woman. Yeah, that's all I got.

  6. My pal sent this to me a while back. This was from the last day of taping in New York. We have some of the actors but most of them are the behind the scenes peeps. I could have sworn she sent me a huge picture of this but this is what I found:

  7. I just got back from Goodnight Pine Valley event. I don't want to start a whole new thread for it. I wasn't going to go due to some personal issues over the last week but then I decided to go last minute.

It was extremely crowded. Alicia, Ricky, Christina, Tommy Michaels, Ben Jorgensen (msp) and the kid who plays Miranda were there.

Ricky was late but very nice, he brought his wife and his baby. Alicia was also very nice and also very, very mobbed the entire event. Timothy looks hot. I was expecting the baby face and not hot. I don't know why AMC didn't bring him back for a scene or two with Amanda.

The event didn't get around to everything like a Q&A and the cake (sigh, missed desserts) because it was extremely crowded (the actors were trying to mingle with everybody) and Prohibition had to open for regular business. The raffle and charity auction all had to be rushed.

This is a good Tad & Dixie one too despite the 2006 material:

  9. In the past year or two, AMC has been very minimal on slaps and, even with Griffin, shirtlessness. Those are staples of soaps. I wouldn't want AMC to be like OLTL in terms of near nudity and wild sex, but a little more wouldn't have hurt.

  11. What is going on in that poodle pic?? And aside from Maria and Kendall who are those people?

The mags used to do "fun" shoots. That was a Barbie shoot.

Others in the picture: Catherine Hickland and Erin Torpey from OLTL. Windsor Harmon when he was Del on AMC.

  12. I take pride in the fact that this show...was a special, special thing for a kid who, at the time, needed another world to escape to for an hour every day.

Sniffle. As a child, my household wasn't a fun place to grow up due to issues of domestic violence (my dad). When I was home sick (or, to be honest, pretending to be sick), the soaps would be that something I'd watch with my mom after a morning of PBS and some game shows. Our thing. An escape.

Adam & Palmer used to scare the heck out of me when I was too young to understand they weren't real people. Then around 1988-1989, when I was almost 10, I started watching more for me rather than because my mother did. Erica and Travis, Erica and Jack, Adam and Brooke, Natalie and Trevor, Skye and Adam, Tad and Dixie (the soap couple that prompted me to buy my first VCR before I hit my teens in the early 90s), Erica and Kendall, Erica and Dimitri, Edmund and Brooke, Natalie in the well, who killed Will?, Hayley and Brian, etc. Some of my favorite stories, relationships and romances. I watched until the fall of 1995. I came back in the fall of 2002. McTavish got me locked in with the rape story turned into family/town love story. That got me back and I'll stick with AMC to the very end.

In my watching, the only writers that really offended my senses to an intense degree were Pratt and B & E. So while I may not have great words for the other writers, I also don't have all that disgust for them either - just for the good times.

ABC Nightly News just did a nice short piece on the cancellations. They read a tweet that summed it up - what soaps mean to fans.
