  2. Whitney takes on Stacy Francis the night before the death. From Radar.

During Whitney Houston's wild night out in Hollywood on Thursday, the troubled singer was downing tequila and threw a tantrum when another woman got attention from Ray J -- and RadarOnline.com has exclusive details.

After taking the stage at Tru Hollywood for a short performance of Yes, Jesus Love Me, Houston exited the stage to find Ray J talking to former X-Factor contestant Stacy Francis, 42, and became irate.

“She ran over to them and began screaming, ‘This is my man! I’m a cougar! B*tch, get away from my man,’” a source told us. Ray J tried to calm her down, telling Houston that Francis was a “longtime family friend” but Houston still pointed and screamed.

“The other artists in the area tried to surround them so that people wouldn’t begin coming into the area where they were and taking photos or video,” the source explained.

Francis tried to calm Houston down, too. “Whitney, I love you baby. It’s not like that. Calm down, you’re causing a scene,” she pleaded. Houston then shoved Francis in her forehead and Francis shoved her back.

“The other singers had to jump in and separate them. People were pleading for Whitney to chill out. It was embarrassing,” the source disclosed.

Francis acknowledged the incident on her Twitter account in a message she later deleted saying, "oh boy. .... She and Ray J are a couple and she thought that Ray was interested in me. So she asked who was I to him.."

"Whitney was drinking tequila the entire night and appeared to be highly intoxicated," an eyewitness told RadarOnline.com.

At some point during the madness, Houston scratched her leg and blood began to stream down. Kelly Price had to stop hosting her own Pre-Grammy bash to come backstage to mediate the situation.

“Kelly told Whitney that it was okay if she left and thanked her for coming. She had someone take Stacy to get her something to drink and help her freshen up her makeup,” the source added.

Francis later joined Price onstage to sing Etta James’ At Last and sung as though nothing ever happened.

Though those in attendance said there was no evidence of drug use by Houston at the party, she was drinking tequila the entire night and appeared to be “highly intoxicated.”

“She drank from the same cup all night, but her assistant and Ray J held the cup and kept people from photographing her with it,” the source closed.

    Francis response:

Former "X Factor" hopeful Stacy Francis has called her run in with Whitney Houston on Thursday a "misunderstanding."

"This is a sad time for me. I loved Whitney Houston with all my heart. She was such an amazing musical influence for me," Stacy Tweeted on Sunday night. "I deeply regret the events that led to Thursday's misunderstanding, but I respect and love her more than I can say."

"Whitney maintained a genuineness in this difficult profession and I will always admire and respect the courage that she lived," she Tweeted. "At this painful time, I would like to express my support and most sincere condolences to Whitney's family in learning of her sudden death...I will always remember her to be a deeply humane person and wish her spirit to rest in peace."

  3. When you think about it, it makes sense.

I guess it sort of does.

People can only assist in changing you so much from the person you really are. Bobby's Whitney (as opposed to Clive's) was probably much closer to the real Whitney than many of us would like to believe. Including myself for a time.

Take away the drugs, I don't have much of an issue with that person. But it is really two different images. That being the public and personal image Whitney was giving off in the 80s and early 90s and the image she was giving off later with the cameras on or "off."

  4. Oh, no question. Twitterverse went all Amber/Glee > J. Hud/Grammys after the performance, too.

It is really one thing to do it live and another thing to do it in studio, but I still have to give this Amber chick mad props. That may very well be the best performance of I Will Always Love You, studio or live, I have heard since Whitney Houston was able to belt it out without problem. I loved the layer of emotion she added to it. You could really feel the words. (Kudos to Dolly Parton for writing such a beautiful song). It almost made me cry each of the 3 times I watched it. Wthout initially meaning to it ended up being a better tribute than the Grammy's offered. That song and a simple black and white screen with "Whitney Houston: We Will Always Love You."

  5. What I sort of hate about the VIP package is they don't tell you what seat you're getting. (ETA #3: I feel kind of stupid talking about seats. I just realized when you're on the floor everybody pretty much ends up standing. I don't know if I'm tall enough to enjoy that experience). They just tell you you'll be sitting within the first 25 rows of the floor seats. When you come in they'll show you to the seat. On top of that, I'm not sure if I want to do the Thursday or Saturday concert and VIP tickets are in blood. JP, any thoughts on which concert day may be better to attend?

Right now, I think I may be within 25 (or 30) rows with the first concert. With the Live Pass I ordered last night, I'll get a free tour poster or laminate of the tour schedule. I probably could get the rest of the stuff they're offering while shopping there. Probably everything except maybe the commemorative ticket which I'd like but eh.

I think I'm just going to get two more Floor seat tickets for Saturday at 11 today. I'll sell 2 of those 3 floor tickets for a nice profit as those are the money tickets. I'll barely break even on the non-floor seats. That'll most likely pay for my ticket plus any crap I want to buy.

    ETA #2:

B4 and 5th row for Thursday. B5 (center) and 14th row for Saturday. Am I wrong in thinking B4 is better? It's almost mid-stage and a bit closer.

    YANKEE.jpg

  6. Being realistic, if he had taken a bus or car it probably would have taken him several days to get from Tenn. to Cali. There's a lot of reason to have issues with Bobby Brown, but I don't consider his time table in getting to his daughter one of them. He was in California within 24 hours of the news.

  7. I don't like Bobby Brown but until he screws up some more publically (and goes all Joe Jackson) in the aftermath I'm giving him some room here. He was already in another city, we don't know his relationship with his daughter - maybe the kid is closer to her mother and her mothers family. There's issues with booking a flight, and then there's your state of mind at a time like that.

  8. I'm going to do the New York concert. This'll be my first concert, so as a child of the 80s, why not start with Madonna wink.png

I got a ticket on the field for a lot of money (about $350-400), which is fine since I bought two extra tickets ($180-200 each) to sell to make up at least half that money, hopefully. Hopefully that newly added second concert in NY won't take up too much of that value.

But I like the idea of the VIP tickets (that comes with the extra loot). The cheapest package is $275 and puts you off-field, the package on-field is $525 (plus I'd have to join the fan club for a week to make sure I get the ticket for an extra $19.00).

I'm wondering if you were me would you try to sell the three 9/6 tickets for maybe $100-150 more each and get that $525 (err $545) VIP ticket for the second concert? Thoughts?

  9. I wanted to see her sing even after the damage that crack did to her vocal cords. Even with that damage, this woman's singing ability is still worlds away from the Xtinas, Timberlakes, Katy Perrys

I can't agree with this. Almost every Live performance I've watched from her after the damage sounds similar to this and for all their WTFCareness, a lot of the young stars today sound better than this...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI2-DoRqSCA

But before the damage, NOBODY could touch that voice. NOBODY.

    LA TIMES

Music channels such as MTV, VH1 and BET — which helped make Whitney Houston a video star but in recent years have shifted away from music videos — were modest in their coverage of the pop star's death Saturday.

MTV aired a one-hour video tribute in honor of Houston at 8:30 p.m. PST, before returning to its regularly scheduled broadcasts, which now include such reality fare as "Teen Mom." Highlighting the irony, the network aired a screen crawl announcing her death during an airing of reality competition "The Challenge: Battle of the Exes." MTV News is pulling from 27-years of video archives for a tribute on Houston’s life to air later this week.

The network's sister music channels, MTV Hits and MTV Jams, however, have been airing Houston's videos nonstop, along with reactions from celebrities and Twitter comments from fans.

PHOTOS: Stars react to stunning news

BET also broadcast a one-hour tribute to Houston, rather than airing a nonstop cycle of her videos (as some fans on Twitter were in search for). Sunday, the network will re-air the tribute, followed by an encore presentation of "BET Honors 2010," where Houston had been celebrated for her achievements. Later in the day, they will air Houston's last televised performance, "Celebration of Gospel 2011." On Monday, "106 & Park" will have a three-hour special episode paying tribute to the singer.

VH1 aired a marathon of her videos Saturday night and continued Sunday morning with her top dance videos. "It takes Whitney Houston's death for VH1 to play music videos," one Twitter user pointed out. The network will also air "VH1 News Special: Whitney Houston: Death of a Diva" on Monday. And next week's "100 Greatest Women in Music" will include a salute to Houston. Later in the week, the network will air a special on the singer's greatest moments. On Tuesday, VH1 Classic will offer a catalog of Houston's videos.

  11. Damn Jamey's making me agree:

    Me too.

VH1 went all night with Whitney but it felt like they only had 5-7 of her songs in vault to take out.

Bobbi Kristina rushed to hospital sad.png

    Poor kid.

The radio stations are playing her songs in heavy rotation, not 24/7 on any particular station, but so much so that there's one of her songs on at any particular second of the day.

This is another good one that I forgot about...

  12. Seriously, the era of 80's/early 90's pop icons is very special to me. People like Michael, Madonna, Prince, Whitney, George Michael, and Janet weren't just your averagerun of the mill pop star, they were inescapable and you couldn't stop and watch/notice them for one reason or another.

That was the last great era of pop artists, and I don't care if that makes me sound old.

We're children of the 80s (and some 70s), but... They're really the last class of singing superstars that really had an INCREDIBLE impact on the industry. They were the last really strong class of creators. Almost every singer today takes something from one of them or the other in their art. Their shadows have been hard to break free from. I don't know if we'll remember that much of Justin, Christina, and even Beyonce 20-25 years from now.

  13. Didn't We Almost Have It All, another great one I forgot about completely.

MTV is airing Whitney Houston videos, sad that it takes her dying for them to show actual videos from actual musicians

    MTV showing music videos?

I changed the channel hoping to see this miracle of miracles and instead saw Jersey Shore.

I think they dedicated a day of music videos to Michael Jackson after his death. Maybe they'll do same for her on Monday or the day of her funeral.
