You're giving them too much credit. 100% the story was intended to last a lot longer than that and the contract negotiation breakdowns is what rushed the ending.
Even with the terrible plotting and pacing of the writing team, that Tara story surely was intended to have a more explosive ending than this one-episode limp deal and done.
Because if this was the plan all along, yeesh.

It was horribly rushed, but I agree that they didn't have a lot of choices.

You’re both right that their hand was forced by the contractual issues. They really bet on the wrong horse with this story because it’s absolutely dominated the show over the past few months, and they’re left with… this.

Tara was such a dreary miscast that I can’t imagine this being drawn out for months and months. (I feared they’d latch her on to Jack to save the character. Glad they weren’t that invested in her.) Usually, low-energy actors spark when their characters go from good to bad, and EL still flatlined every scene she was in after Tara went full-on villain.

They could have had Sally target Nick, but if they’re going there, they’re doing a pretty crappy job of moving in that direction. This is the second or third time this year they’ve had to bail on a story because they had issues with the cast (the Chabby marital drama surrounding the baby being the other, and we see how they’ve tried to salvage that one).

Dammmnnnnnnnn 😍😍😍😍 I really need to take a trip to China 😂

I’ve heard very good things about the clubs in Shanghai. Although I think I’d prefer Taipei. Great gay scene without the authoritarianism lol.

We have talked many times about Bell's pacing but imagine how much more powerful Sheila's appearance would have been if we had been slowly treated to the mystery of his origins for months. If, even in a throwaway scene during the whole whos-the-father story, it had been hinted Finn might have a secret mother.
We literally met Finn's parents and even heard anything about his history three days ago. This is such bad pacing and plotting, sorry.

Word. Things just feel thrown in (see Justin’s sudden plot against Bill, which at least made *some* sense, yet it’s been seemingly abandoned). “Make it up as you go along” feels like the CBS way these days.

Why do I hate him? I just do. I never cared for him.

That’s a shame. He loves you. He’s knitting you a jumper.

I don't really have an opinion on Tom Daley, but I do think his relationship with his husband sets off a lot of red flags.

I’ve always found that relationship strange.

So glad that Tom Daley didn't win gold in the 10m platform.

The Chinese divers outclass everyone. But why do you hate Tom Daley so much? Lol. If he had blond hair, he’d be firmly in your twink wheelhouse. 😉
