Really enjoyed Thursday's episode with just having the vets on. Just having them sit around and talk about the past and love for John was great way to end this tribute to John/Drake. Superficial note: my God, Kristian Alfonso and Missy Reeves were so freakin beautiful back then. Kristian with the the model looks and Missy with the girl-next-door looks. Just wow.

DAYS: June 2025 Discussion Thread
Today's episode was excellent, especially the recreation of the garden of flowers with John/Marlena's voiceover from 1999 - that was brilliant. I also liked how two things that were John's big traits were mentioned: his eyebrow lift and "That's a fact." LOL I think out of everyone's eulogies (I enjoyed them all), the one that hit me hard the most was Paul's, mainly because of Christopher Sean's tears and emotion. These last three episodes have been an amazing tribute to John/Drake. The little girl playing Rachel is really good. I think she's going to be a huge star one day.

That's for the update. I liked JDB's script too. So that makes it two short stints at two different soaps now for JDB. Maybe daytime isn't for him. Will be interesting to see who replaces JDB and Lynn Martin on the SW team.

That was one of the best grandslam finals. Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break. And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots. What a battle!

Add Dr. Montgomery to list of fine women on this show! I hope the show goes forward with Madison/Chelsea and then once they're developed, bring back Allison, who is now divorced or a widow, for a Madison/Chelsea/Allison triangle. It would definitely be the hottest triangle in daytime.

ARTICLE: Veteran Soap Opera Producer & Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient Edward J. Scott Retires After Nearly 50 Years
That's a pretty good speculation. End her daytime career the way she started. Kind of like Ed here. Congrats to Ed on his retirement. He is a daytime legend that's for sure!

Thanks for the updates, @glfaninnyc and @VelekaCarruthers. First Skyy Sandifer, and now Christian Streaty, looks like DAYS was testing out some black writers who are new to daytime.

@janea4old I'm sure eventually Canada/USA will air the same episode, but I'm really surprised it has gone on this long.

Amanda Setton and Rena Sofer was once again really good in today's episode. As a Lucky/Liz fan, I didn't like their scenes either. And they are nowhere near a proposal because they haven't been given a real story.

DAYS: June 2025 Discussion Thread
John and Marlena's love story is over. As I started watching in 1993, and they became my favourite couple because of storylines like The Affair, Maison Blanche, The Possession, Aremid, and The Secret Room - just five straight years of amazing stories. The funny thing is, in all of those stories, John and Marlena were never truly together, but I was fine with that because I knew how much they loved each other - Deidre and Drake just had so much chemistry and made it so believable. Deidre was fantastic today, especially in that last scene where Marlena told John it was okay for him to rest now. I agree with @j swift, that having a body for Marlena, and everyone else, to say goodbye to was the right choice, as well as just having Marlena there alone as John dies. Marlena: John, I love you so…. John: I love you too, Doc. Marlena: I need you to listen to me. You have put up the bravest fight I have ever seen. The thing is I….I know you’re weary, I know you’re suffering…..If you need to go, it’s okay. I know that you’re worried me, about the children….You have given us all the love we will ever need. We will always have you in our memories. We will always hold you in our hearts. So…it’s okay if you rest now. You can rest now. Bo and Hope are my second favourite couple, so for them to be part of this episode made it even more special. I loved the inclusion of Zack - in the flashback and in the family scene at the Brady Pub. John dies and Bo wakes up. Two great love stories intertwining and showcased (loved the flashbacks!) in today's very emotional episode. Great recap @Bright Eyes

Canada is still a day ahead. Hmm.... No spoilers but Tamara Tunie is really good in tomorrow's last scene. I was surprised by the ending.

Yeah, not showing us Chelsea coming out to her grandparents was bad. Hopefully things will get better in terms of structure and story telling. We have to remember the show isn't even 6 months old yet. There's still a lot to figure out. They've made some changes to the writing staff, so maybe that will help? I hope they figure out the editing issues and music issues as well. We'll see.

Don't know if CBS is aware of it or not but I'm positive Canada won't be one-day-ahead forever. CBS/CHCH will probably in sync tomorrow, Friday or Monday. That's just my guess.

DAYS: May 2025 Discussion Thread
Tuesday: I loved that Melinda/Sophia/Sophia's mom scene where Melinda told them about her own teenage pregnancy and giving her up, and Haley's death. I thought it was a great choice to include Melinda in this adoption story, at least just for today. Tina Huang is always great whenever she's used. I hope she sticks around under the new writers. You need supporting characters like Melinda. Wednesday: All of Carrie's scenes with Marlena and John were so good and emotional. "You are my daughter. And you are John's daughter as well." ".....family is who sits in your heart, who brings you to life, who makes it worthwhile, and you, my darling girl, will always be our daughter." 😭 Loved Abe's scene with John too. I smiled when Abe called John "partner." I started watching DAYS in 1993, so Abe/John will always be "partner" for me, not Abe/Roman or Steve/John. "I'm so honoured to stood up for you. I'm holding out that my son will marry your granddaughter, and we will stand up for them together.....because we're family, John. Family. You always will be. Always." 😭 God, such a good script today.

BTG: May 2025 Discussion Thread
I don't think she is. I think she just created some really boring characters and for some reason doesn't know what to do with them. But let's say that she is being force to write these characters that she doesn't like or want to write for.......that's a really bad sign that the creator of the show is being told what to do from the very beginning. With so many EPs, I was worried there could be too many cooks in the kitchen, too many people giving notes - all those EPs are representing companies who have a stake in the show. Canada continues to be one episode ahead. Thursday's US episode is another lacklustre episode, even with Leslie in it. We'll see if Friday or Monday's episode in Canada will be a repeat.
