  1. Thursday's episode was so poorly written (not the script but the story, outline and pacing).  Jackee's acting ticks can be annoying but she handled the choppy, dumb material fairly well. Raven has a long way to go in the acting department.  Thankfully, we didn't have to suffer through Giovanni.  Sal Stowers has never been a consistently good performer.  But her material in this episode was poor.  She has to stop interjecting "Auntie Pee" into every other line.

This YouTube channel has uploaded quite a few SFT episodes this past week:

Pam Long and her Christmas fantasy episodes. She and Addie Walsh didn't have a clue about SFT. Tomlin shouldn't have been fired. He might have taken the show down with some dignity. None of the McCleary saga made any sense.

    Episode 5 clarification:

The credits have been weird. First three episodes they had "Developed by" then listed Quan as Associate, Myers as Editor, then the "story" and "teleplay writers, followed by the remaining 'staff' writers. Episode 4 changed. They listed Ron at the opening as "written by" but listed all the writers in the final credits in the usual format except listed "Story by" for the outline writer title card and Teleplay by for the script writers. So we don't know who wrote the outline/story/breakdown for Episode 4.

  4. But seriously, WTF with Rinna's face? It makes me so sad to see the extremes some of these actors go through.  I can't watch her.  Interesting that Jeanne Ford wrote the story for this mini series.  It makes no sense to have Days and Beyond running concurrently. They should have launched this show during the Olympics. I'd give the show a C+.  Zach Tinker was the highlight after years of dreadful Freddie performances.  Chad's butt was awesome too.  Leanne is so good.  She should be on Young and Restless taking over the Chancellor Mansion as Kay's long lost sister.  Jackee was phoning in her scenes in this episode. Painful...and I love her but...

H everyone. I have some details to share for Search that you may find interesting. Not sure if these have been shared before so my apologies if so

The 4,940th episode of SFT aired Sep 05, 1970. If there were no pre-emptions and if the show wasn't pre-empted Thanksgiving day then the 5,000th would have aired Nov 26, 1970

    The 6,000th aired Oct 31, 1974

    The 7,000th aired Sep 12, 1978

    The 8,000th aired Aug 16, 1982

I also located some HW info based on newspaper articles and script archive catalogue's for the writers.

    Irving Vendig's scripts start Sep 03, 1951 and end Nov 26, 1956

I found a writer named Milton Geiger who apparently wrote for the show in the 50's and may have bridged the gap between Vendig and the Hursley's or it could have been Charles Gussman, but I could find no info on him.

    Frank & Doris Hursley Dec 30, 1957 - Jun 05, 1964

Julian Funt & David Lesan I could only find one month from Jul 1967 from Lesan's archive. The first mention of the pair as HW of the show is Jul 1966, however general consensus would place them directly after the Hursley's in 1964. The last mention is from Feb 1968. I am pretty sure they took over from Irna Phillips on GL from May 68 (though not sure)

Leonard Kanter and Doris Frankel - Only one mention of them from Sep 1970. Maybe or likely they took over from Lesan & Funt

Lou Scofield - Mentioned as HW in an article from Nov 1970

Robert Soderberg & Edith Sommer - In an early June 1971 article it is mentioned they write both SFT and GL. They are mentioned again along with Eugenie Hunt and Ralph Ellis as writers in Sep 1971

Eugenie Hunt & Ralph Ellis - Apart from the above mention, they are noted without Soderberg and Sommer in Sep 1972 as sole HW's of the show

Theodore Apstein - His script archive catalogue is sparse but mentions Jan 15, 1974 - May 24, 1974. There could be more not housed in the archive

Gabriel Upton is mentioned as bridging the gap between Apstein and Marcus. If so she would have been there one month

Ann Marcus - (June 24, 1974 - Nov 18, 1975) She began with episode #5913. Since we know the 6,000th ep aired Oct 31, 1974. I counted backwards and adjusted for at least three pre-emptions I know occured in July 1974 and it landed me at the week of June 24, 1974. Her last episode is #6274. I counted forward from ep 6,000 and it landed me on Nov 18, 1975. However there may have been one or two pre-emptions so at the very least her last episode would have been that week.

Peggy O'Shea (Approx Nov 19, 1975 - Dec 10, 1976) Information based solely on Irving Ellman and Ann Marcus info

Irving Elman & Tex Avery (Dec 13, 1976 - Aug 05, 1977) Irving's script archive mentions these start and end dates

Robert Shaw - If he followed Elman and Avery then he most likely started Aug 08, 1977 and went to very early March 1978

Henry Slesar - March 1978 - Approx Sep 08, 1978 - John-Michael Reed announced Slesar as HW in a Mar 26, 1978 article. He stated Slesar's first move was to axe three characters Evelyn Reedy and Margaret & Greg Hartford. These characters were gone the week of March 20, 1978. So his start date is no later than that week.

Joyce & John William Corrington - A Sep 15, 1978 article states the Corringtons were hired and began writing from Aug 14, 1978. it also mentions it takes roughly a month for their scripts to air. Since they are both mentioned as HW from Sep 15, 1978 I would assume they started airing that week, which is one month after they were hired. The week of Sep 25 they axed Slesar's first addition to the show Chance Holliday

This is all I have done so far. At least the 1970's is mostly covered. Once I get more I will post.

ETA: For the record the three pre-emptions I am sure happened in July 1974 were

July 02, 1974 - CBS News Special: Nixon in Moscow

July 24, 1974 - CBS News Special: Impeachment - The Court and the Committee

July 25, 1974 - CBS News Special: House Committee Debate on Impeachment

There are other possible pre-emptions which affected Y&R and may have affected SFT as well. This would change Ann Marcus' start date. So her general date still stands at the week of June 24, 1974 (Maybe June 27, 1974) but all depends on how many July pre-emptions actually affected the show.

Have you reviewed Ralph Ellis script archives at the below link. You might find useful date ranges for SFT as he donated years worth of story projections and breakdowns arranged by date.

And here's a lovely obit for wife, Eugenie Hunt, that mentions their writing careers:

I know this is an old post, but I thought I would add all the HW info I have. I thought Roy Winsor wrote the show in the very beginning? At any rate here is what I have based on the list above. If I find more I will add it. I didn't want to add all the articles as I figured it would just take up too much room.

John Hess - UPDATED - Hess is mentioned as writer at shows premiere Sep 24, 1951 in a variety review. Next mentioned as writer of the show in August 1952. He is mentioned again in a profile in April 1958

Harry W. Junkin - A profile on the writer from Dec 1958 states he has been writing the show since July 1958

Jack Paritz - An article from Oct 26, 1959 states Jack signed a deal to write Love of Life. No further mentions could be found

Don Ettlinger - Only info I could find stated Ettlinger joined and wrote the show during the time Joseph Hardy was a producer on the show which was 1962 - 1965.

John Pickard & Frank Provo - Their script archive lists materials from Nov 1964 - Aug 1965

Roy Windsor - Referred to as writer in 1965, but nothing specific, so I wouldn't take this as much proof of anything, but maybe he did write the show during this time

Robert Soderberg - Only mention is from March 1967 in an article about LOL going to colour

Robert J. Shaw - In a Sep 01 1968 article it is mentioned he has been writing the show for a year and a half. So I assume he took over around Mar 67

Esther & Richard Shapiro - Found nothing on them. Except their own interview which states 1969 as a start date

Robert J. Shaw - UPDATED - First mention of Bob Shaw is Oct 1970 in a sort of gossip column about CBS people hanging out a restuarant and he is mentioned as being with Love of Life. In an article on the shows 5000th episode (which aired Dec 7, 1970) Shaw is listed as HW

Donald Wallace & Paul Roberts - Listed as writers of the show in Sep 1971 in article about shows 20th Anniversary

Loring Mandel (Christopher Bell) - First mention is September 1972 in article about shows anniversary. Last mention is April 1973 when he claims a Writers Guild award for the show

Claire Labine & Paul Avila Mayer - The first mention of the pair is Sep 1973 in an article about the shows anniversary. The last mention is from Apr 26, 1975 which implies their last episode to air is May 30, 1975

Margaret DePriest - Same Apr 26, 1975 article implies new HW's first episode to air will be June 02, 1975. First actual mention of Margaret is actually an article on her husband from Oct 29, 1975. States DePriest is a writer on Love of Life. Only mention of her I could find for this show.

Paul & Margaret Schneider - Only thing I could find was their script archive which suggests their first episode was Dec 02, 1975 and their last was Sep 17, 1976

Gabriel Upton - First mention is during an article on the shows anniversary from Sep 1976. Maybe she started Sep 20, 1976

Jane Holloway - Article from Oct 13, 1978 states Jane is new HW.

Ann Marcus - An article from April 1979 states that Ann will be taking over the show at the end of the month. So likely her eps came on late May or early June 1979. She was the last HW

Jean Holloway not Jane I believe.

Marcus was with Days before LOL so I think she only wrote LOL for six months or so
