  1. The cast photos where I got them from are labeled by Season, rather than year. For example, Season 9 is is labeled as 1995-1996. We are currently in Season 24 and that is 2010-2011. So while a photo might be taken in one year, it was encompassing the season, which overlaps across 2 seperate years. I only put the one year instead of both to simpliy things. Hope that makes sense

I know what you mean: just wanted to stress that e.g. the pic for the 1995-1996 season usually only has those actors in it which were still part of the show come January 1996...

  2. This has probably already been addressed, but how seriously did Bill Bell consider curing Hope's blindness? Is that why she returned in 1996 even though they had no story for her? I remember Signy talking about it in interviews at the time. Did they write her out because they decided not to do the story?

No idea but from what I remember story-wise it was never much an option for hope to gain eyesight. They talked about visiting a specialist or even saw one but it was always clear that is nearly impossible to cure her blindness.

By it it was also more powerful that those sluts Nikki and Vickie kept spouting ther insults at Hope for "trying to steal Victor" and "connocting a powerful scheme to get into Victor's life". How I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATED both of them during that time.

Nowadays I would wish that Vickie would trigger any emotion... LOL

  3. Nobody. It was dropped.

They did not even bother. It was just not mentioned after the dinner. One of the lamest plot devices ever. And one of the reason why I liked Kay Alden taking over because Bill Bell had some issues of laziness in 1996/1997...

  4. It was meant to humble & semi redeem Jill which it did (to an extent).

Like for 5 seconds before she started to piss EVERYBODY in town again. This was the time when Brenda was at her divaishest. The story was fantastic (as it not only rejuvenated Kay/Jill but also Jack), although the conclusion/reveal was kind of unnecessary and boring.

  5. It starts up again from 7/6 all the way up to 10/5/92. I think AW was preempted for Wimbelton on 7/2 and 7/3 because even the AWHP recaps for that week lists it as 6/29-7/1/92.

    Indeed.

Continue watching, Cat! You won't miss an episode there - AW was pre-empted on these days and ALL episodes are up till 5th Octorber 1992...

  6. Must be my mistake, sheilaforever. I guess I still have that Jossip rumor involving RPG and Rick Hearst stuck in my sub-conscious!

Not to mention that Ricky Paul and Christian LeBlanc were roommates back in NYC in the late 80s... There's just no end to it - especially when you have Dean pulling his best Freddy Mercury impressions. ;)

  7. Jenna & Dean = super cheesy but at least they are promoting safe sex. And they are hot together. RPG may annoy the [!@#$%^&*] out of me (and did he really date Yasmine Bleeth? I thought he was gay) but he brings out the best in Alla Korot.

    LMAO.

But seriously - isn't he married (to a woman) now and even having a child (from his wife). One cannot stress certain things enough.

Judy Evans as Pualina is so different from what I've seen else of her. Paulina is so rootable.

  8. Did you two like Die Schwarzwaldklinik? Was it any good? Did it deserve the fame and the following it got?

Never actually watched it. Was too young during it's original run to remember anything. And the show has the feel of a limetime movie-of-the-week. It really aimed for a female audience was effective at that, but the writing did not stretch for complexity. It was mostly a series about a hospital with lots of backdrop of the Black Forrest mostly dealing with romance and medical cases of the week.

It was no great show by any means, just mass compatible and sth. fresh and new when it premiered: the lush geographic setting, the more upper class feel (They are chief doctors at a hospital and hence have to be well off, you know ;-)) and of course it was one of the first medical series. A genre which alongside sloooow crime serials is well-liked by the audience.

  9. A true primetime soap in the wake of DALLAS and DYNASTY was "Das Erbe der Guldenburgs" (The Guldenburg Legacy) which aired on the same network as "Die Schwarzlwaldklinik":

The show had great writing and a fabulous cast which in two cases shot to mega-stardom not soon after (Iris Berben &Christiane Hoerbiger) although they alongside most of the rest of the cast were already quite famous when the series started.

A scene with the most prominent characters and the family holding a council as to who is to run the family enterprise:

  10. Heather Locklear was on two primetime shows at the time, Dynasty and T.J. Hooker. She was one of the lead roles on Hooker from 1982-1985 for 4 seasons. Thats why Sammy Jo appeared sporadically on Dynasty as a semi-regular. She did not become a full time cast memmber till 1985. We're lucky they let her remain part time and worked around her schedule, writing Sammy Jo in for a few episodes here and there rather than dumpnig Locklear and recasting the role.

Sami Jo was a fun character which worked best during the on-and-off-seasons

  11. I was kind of surprised by how fast they got rid of Sammy Jo in season 2. She married Steven, then started to show her true colors, and she allowed Alexis to buy her off. And that was that.

The show had extremely crappy writing over most of its run...

The dialogues were fun and some characters, too. But the writing left much to be desired. Overall the last season which is very un-Dynasty-like (and penned by someone from DALLAS, if I remember correctly) is the best. In between is some good stuff but the show is very uneven, IMO.

  12. Lost Hope is, indeed, exquisite.

Don't know the track's title but my favorite one is basically two times on the soundtrack, a very vampish cue which I totally associate with many Victoria Rowell scenes of the nineties. As soon as it was Neil & Dru romancing they played this score, although it was quite often used, also becuase that one "tune" is apparently used for two different scores...

  13. I just don't get why intrigue/business/etc scores are not selected. But B&B was my second most-wanted soundtrack release... now, if only they do Y&R and put the really good stuff on it. Now THAT would be great.

Share your feeling but have a look at my previous.

BTW, if you don't have the Y&R soundrack yet, check eBay... The compilation is a tad too swoonsome for my taste but it opens beuatifully with Nadia's theme and closes with the long closing titles...

  14. I'm just stunned they actually did this. I guess enough people requested a collection of themes or scores or they at least saw enough interest from hardcore fans to do it (given that DAYS just recently did one through LaLaLand Records). I hope they do another one with some of their other cues, their more dramatic/suspenseful stuff.

I doubt they do one with the drama scores, GH and Y&R both excluded them as well when they released they soundtracks in the 90s. My guess is that the target group is woman (once again) and they think they'll only be interested in the romance department. Maybe if sales are ok (an ITunes release must be dirt cheap so each sale should mean $$$ for the show), we'll get another one.

Ah, c'mon: that Rick & Steffy theme has such a nice rhytm. It's not artistic in any way but has i's appeal. I wanted to convert that Jackie M-theme as my ringtune but ITunes totally cut my plans. I always get some error message - and yet Apple is always considered superior. Whatever. (I still love my IPhone though)

  15. Bought it - actually the first time that I bought anything from ITunes - and love it.

It's worth the money, they really produced long scores and not just those short snippets like on Y&R's soundtrack (which is still good). Each track is about 3 minutes and makes great listening, I particularly like the modern scores for Jackie and the Rick&Steffy theme. They are just sooooo raunchy. LOL!

However, they left out the Ridge&Caroline theme (the Ridge & Taylor one as well) which is downright criminal because it is one of their best scores. I was also surprised the title theme is NOT on this recording but maybe it was not composed by Allocco & Kurth alone?
