  1. I was looking in a Digest from May 1995 and they said Lauren Koslow had a good shot of taking over as Kate.

That did happen, in early 1996 (February? March? I can't remember). I wonder if they asked her not to take any other big jobs until then, or if they auditioned people all over again in late '95.

Her first episode aired in January 1996.

  2. Always a good sign to see President Obama with some fantastic endorsements... the one from President Francois Hollande of the French Socialist party is fantastic, but to receive an endorsement from the likes of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is a real coup.

Makes one wonder what all these leaders might have in common...

They don't like Obama and his politics if that's what you think. What they and many others have in common is that they consider the democrats to be the lesser of two evils.

  3. Well the world hates jews. That's why they created Israel in the first place.

Israel isn't a country of saints, they did a lot of crappy things to the Palestinians en route to becoming a country and treat them unfairly today. Whoever came up with the map for Israel and Palestine had to have known it was unworkable. That said, Israelis don't go around knocking down skyscrapers, make videos of decapitations, and generally behave like savages treating their own people like crap. Israelis don't stone you if you want to send your daughter to school, they don't kill you if you are raped. israelis don't behave like mindless animals anytime someone makes an insulting cartoon of Moses, they don't go attacking embassies when someone puts up anti jewish youtube videos, and they don't tell you god is good when someone kills a few dozen people. Israelis don't kill you because you are gay. Israel's jews do not issue fatwas and do not demand that any citizen adhere to jewish orthodoxy lest they suffer the consequences.

All of that is strictly an arab thing, and that the world looks the other way while the Arab world engages in this behavior but is sickened by Israel refusing to give up their country sort of speaks to the hypocrisy of the entire world.

You sound like Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer.

No it is not strictly and arab thing. Not all muslims are arabs and not all arabs are muslims. The things you desribed aren't done by normal muslims, the are done by wahhabists. They are a sick, extreme branch of Islam and they hate everyone else. Especially shia-muslims which is why they are now in Syria fighting Bashar al-Assad who is not only an alawite but also a secular arab socialist and nationalist. Things they all hate. If the wahhabists (that the western media calls rebels) win, they will rule Syria the same way the Talibans did in Afghanistan in 1996-2001. But they won't win since the Syrian army are better trained.

  4. Bin Laden is dead, something George Bush didn't accomplish. Troops from the surge just left Afghanistan, plus the Iraq War was ended awhile back. Allies that were alienated under Bush came back into the fold. That's good foreign policy. No President has a perfectly flawless term when it comes to anything, but there has been plenty of success. But, apparently, the none of that counts because of rabid partisanship. Give credit to where it is do, had there not been a change in policy, Bin Laden would still be alive and troops would still be in Iraq.

They are are still creating wars and conflicts in the ME. The difference is that they aren't sending in american troops. Last year NATO bombed Libya and helped the wahhabists to murder Gaddafi and take power. They destroy old Muslim mausoleums, Christian graves of British and Italian WWII soldiers and murdered all black africans that had immigrated under Gaddafi's rule. Some would say it's karma that the attacks two weeks ago happend in Libya. Then you have the current war in Syria were US allies Turkey and Saudi Arabia pay one-way tickets for terrorists to Syria.

  5. I'm not playing this game with you, Wales. Obama has a miserable foreign policy record and no amount of baiting one-liners can alter the fact. The man who claimed there would be peace in the mideast as a result of his election has anything BUT peace. In fact, we're hated more now than before he took office.

Don't take my word for it... refer to the brutal rape, torture and murder of our ambassador to Libya. Our closest ally in the Middle East in Israel and the President will not meet with its leader. It is inexcusable and that you have no issue with that boggles my mind.

It's your close ties with Israel that makes you hated by many in the Middle East. Israel may be your closest ally , but before Israel was created America didn't have so many enemies in the Middle East.

  6. Ah, the warmongers emerge. Always ready to send other people's children off to war to be killed and maimed and do the same to others in a drop of a hat. Anything to waste lives and make profit for their allies in the military industrial complex.

Here is a tip to the warmongers: Netanyahu is doing a favor to support his friends, Sheldon Adelson and Mitt Romney, but he is NOT the President of the United States. He does not get to dictate when he meets with the President or the foreign policy of the United States. If Netanyahu wants to bomb Iran, I don't see what is stopping him. But I think that his government and our supposed allied Arab governments have killed and/or contributed to the deaths of enough Americans to last a lifetime.

Like when 14 of the hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis and somehow Iraq that was the real problem.

Well said. It's ridiculous how necons always make Iran out to be the bad guy when the biggest sources of conflict in the Middle East are Israel and Saudi Arabia.

  7. I was watching Nick Corelli's murder the other day and I felt like the writers treated him as an afterthought in his own murder storyline. So I was wondering if anyone who watched back then know if Nick's murder was originally supposed to be tied to Steve's death, with Jo being Nick's killer or if that was a rewrite? I thought Conrad Dunn was really good in the role but I guess in the writers mind, a pimp like Nick had to die sooner or later. I just wish they had done more with him leading up to his death.

  8. It's actually weird to see how much he has (visually) aged since 2006. He's filled out a lot but looks great. He seemed soooo much younger when he started on Days.

I think he looks bad now. He's aged alot for the last three years or so. Though he did look like a young prettyboy when he came on in 2006. I would say he looked best around 2008.

Days didn't get much (if any) ad space in UK magazines (AFAIK), but here's a rare full page from Inside Soap.

I wish Joe still had those thoughts about Stefano.
