  1. I downloaded the previews/samples and I recognized all of them.

    Who Is John Black?:

Played in early 2008 when they found out that John was alive.

    First Kiss:

I recognize it but I can't say for sure when it used to play.

    Theme for a Princess:

Played during the Princess Gina Storyline in 1999.

    Hitman:

Played back in 2005 during the Stan/Iraq story but I think I also heard it in a recent episode, it was either in Dec 09 or Jan 10.

    Kiss of Death:

This one is really weird because I recognized two different cues that blended together in this one. One of the cues played during the Meteor Shower in 2002 and the other one with the female "Aaaahaaaaaaa" is from the Princess Gina Storyline.

    Something is Going On:

This is a pretty new one, I would say it started sometime last year.

About the CD insert you posted, this means that on some of the tracks we won't hear the whole score? Nope, I don't like it.

And I have to comment on the last part: "This is meant to be like this, for it enables you to appreciate the composers craft at creating atmosphere and bring you into the storylines created by the names of the tracks."

I say bullshit on that. I would've appreciated if they didn't mix it like that, it actually ruins the atmosphere. Of course I haven't heard it yet but to me it feels like that. But when I get the CD I will listen to all of it and then judge. I just got an e-mail from Amazon, the delivery date is March 26.

  2. Oh okey. But is "Innocence" the only one from Reilly 1 era? Because on the 1998 soundtrack they left out alot of my favorite cues so I was hoping they would be on this one.

I live in Sweden so it's international shipping. I could have chosen a faster shipping and gotten it after 4-5 days but that would have cost much, much more.

  3. It's official! The soundtrack will be released on February 16 but you can preorder it on Amazon :)

"Presenting the music score from the legendary NBC daytime soap opera Days Of Our Lives. 4. UGH. I HATED that sh!t.

At least your YouTube page still has the Bo/Hope theme from that era on it.

The Bo and Hope theme was in the mid 90s, I think around 95-96. That was after Marty left so that means Corday composed it :D

One thing I don't like about Corday's music (but maybe this is the the music directors fault) is how it keeps getting replaced after a while.

Just to show you what I mean.

This clip is from 1998, listen to the background music.

    This clips is from 2002.

    This one is from 2006.

And a clip from the present episodes.

Notice how the music is not the same? I have no problem with them making new scores but why replace old ones? Compare with B&B that are still playing their classic scores in scenes while also doing new ones.

  5. - It will cover the gamut of many storylines and be 2 cds.,,, the first one will be emotional and sympathetic and the 2nd one will be movement, tension and horror.

    - He also told me it will be like nothing you have heard... the way it is put together.

  6. Yuck!

Unless it's Reilly Era I, who the hell wants DAYS cues?

DAYS has the worst scores of any daytime soap.

If you mean the current ones I agree, though there are a few that sometimes plays in the scenes with the Kiriakis and DiMeras that I like.

I would love a soundtrack with music from the 90s and early 00s.

  7. When will they actually make these available to buy? Seriously just upload them to iTunes. They should while there is still an interest from the remaining soap fans for this music.......

I came in contact with a guy through Youtube and he told me there might be a Days soundtrack coming soon.

  8. I also love most of B&B's music too. I know some here think it's cheesy, but one person's Velveeta is another's gouda.

    I also love B&B's music.

I'm hoping, since we live in an age of digital downloads and iTunes, some of these composers will sell their pieces there. It would be convenient and alot easier, especially since one wouldn't have to go to a publisher directly to get a CD printed and sell the music.

    I hope so too.

I was disappointed too when I bought the DAYS cd. I really hate most of Ken Corday and Brent Nelson's music.

Is there anything you like from them? I loved pretty much all of their music in 1996-1998 (but most of my favorites weren't on the 1998 soundtrack CD) and the music in 1999-2002 was also very good IMO. The music started to go downhill in 2003. The music was without a doubt the worst 2004-2006. 2007-present time is a little better. I have noticed some newly composed music just this past month that have played in several scenes with EJ and Philip.

I think DAYS only has one good cue right now - it's the Santo/Colleen theme (I like all the versions: flute, piano, guitar). But of course Corday and Brent Nelson are just horrible composers. LOL

I can't stand that one. But I think there are still several good cues. Like I said, some new ones that played in scenes with EJ and Philip. I think Corday and Nelson are best when it comes to cues for villains and action-scenes. Marty was better at sad and romantic music.

  9. Next to acting and writing, background music to me is what makes a film or television show. I am glad to know so many others take notice of it.

WORD, the background music is very important for me, in movies and tv-shows. On soaps my favorite BM are on DAYS and B&B. But not DAYS at present time, it was best from 1994-1998. Also pretty good from 1999-2002.
