This is the most I think I have ever seen coming from Steve Burton! He had tears in his eyes, nearly spilling out. His voice conveyed deep feeling when he said 3 things:
Carly?
It's really me.
I'm sorry it took so long.
And, I know you're gonna kill me, but is Gina Tognoni the right age to be a Lulu recast?
Ten years too old & only 11 years younger than Genie Francis
she would have been a good Carly choice back in the day

What's character driven about Anna freaking Devane being a Sonny prop?
I was talking about what was on screen today

A Sly Eckert Mention
Character Driven moments
Laura/Rocco ( That actor is good)
Carly/Danny
Sam/Olivia
Chase/Brook Lynn
Jordan/Portia (Nathan West mention)
Spinelli/Maxie
Maxie/John Jagger talking Mac
This was definite a PM & EK script

Well I think the consenous here is that we want the soap to do well and not rushed.

Outside of episode count and differences in pay, five years isn't actually something I'd worry about. Primetime shows required seven season deals and even with shorter filming schedules, it gave actors limited chances of doing a movie and a series simultaneously. A soap could still manage this similar to how GH is now doing with NIcholas Chavez. The only problem is the actor should remember soaps ARE NOT a stepping stone for "bigger and better things." They are just as much a TV show as "9-1-1" or "This is Us."
Exactly. Is there a reason why ABC went back to 3 year deals on daytime after years of doing 4 year deals for newbies

I'm just going to say this. Personally, streaming is NOT the future of soaps. It's an element of where soaps can be watched. As evidenced by the recent streaming failures across the industry, there isn't truly any shows that will survive long-term on a streaming service. Some of the most watched shows don't even go beyond five or six seasons, if they are lucky, and they only get 6-10 episodes a season.
Yes, of course, it'll be available on Paramount+, or whatever that eventually evolves into by the time the show (hopefully) reaches the air. That's not in question.
I think what bothers me about today's announcement, and this has nothing to do whatsoever with your post or you, John, in particular, but people can't seem to read. I can't tell you how many people asked when is it going to air or where is it going to air when it is clearly stated it's for CBS. Countless people on social are asking if this is going to Paramount+ and I'm like...not even in the PR about it was Paramount+ even mentioned.
Right
A lot of variables here
How long will development take. Passions took over two years. So Im thinking Earliest I could see it on CBS is fall 2025.

Even though The Gates is being developed for CBS, I wouldnt be shocked if it just went streaming on Paramount Plus. I feel streaming is the future for daily soaps.

Thanks, @Vee.
Of course, I shouldn't be surprised that I didn't/don't remember Terry. As I've said before, there are more actors working today at GH than there were at MGM in the '40's.
Was Terry the one who dated Chris Van Etten (the actor, not the HW)?
Yes. Chet Driscoll

Not surprised Patrick Mulcahey is using Terry (Casandra James)

Sure Sonny was helping Karen
B To The S
Also this video is part of Claire Labine's first week as HW at GH

I agree all those things are true.
But Jagger can harp on these facts all day long-it's over. Sonny was horrible and he should be called out on his actions, but how many times a week does Jagger need to do it? It's basically the only thing he talks about as of now. To me this seems more about Jagger's own regrets about Karen/Stone than Sonny.
I do agree some of this are Jagger's regrets for not being there when Stone died. GH Nightshift touched on this in 2008.

Multiple Things can be true at once:
1) Sonny truly loved Stone
2) Sonny did use Karen & gave her drugs to strip & sleep with him knowing she was an SA Victim
3) Sonny latched onto PC's love of Stone to rehab his image.
John Jagger Cates spoke no lies today
When John Jagger Cates spoke to Anna about Robin & her devotion to Sonny, I did not take that as a slight on Anna because she could not be there. I saw it as Cates basically saying Robin has poor judgment where Sonny's concerned. Truth.

Today was great. The Sonny & John Jagger scenes were amazing. That was defintley PM & EK there
Heather, I like Alley Mills but if Heather dies I wont care at this point. Loved Laura knocking her ass out

Fired, I believe.
I think Robin's 'death' was Ron's first credited day, or close to it. They did tweak It on the way in though, because allegedly Wolf's team had planned to kill her for real (via AIDS, I believe) and supposedly FV's first order of business was to declare Robin Scorpio would not be killed off while he worked there.
Wolf was gonna have Robin die of injuries of the lab explosion. RC even said it was outlined that Patrick was trying to revive her on the table. We would have seen her die. Frank & Ron asked KMC if she would be open to robin living and making apperances and KMC said yes so the change was made.
Robin Dying of Aids was gonna be used to write Anna off AMC in 2003 but someone at ABC vetoed it

Even if Some of today came from an outline by D & C, that was not their dialogue . It seemed sharper and more real. Defintley felt EK and PM influence

You can never be too sure about what’s going on unless PM/Korte or Valentini openly come out and confirm the situation.
There have been cases during transitions where both teams are credited in a strange way. When MAB and her Co-HWs were fired from Y&R in 2012, there was a bizarre transition period where the two regimes were credited together for a little bit.
There was also spec that EK began the jason return on her own and then PM joined so that coukd be what we got today

Malone and Griffith also ghostwrote heavily in January of 2003 at OLTL before their names were on it. Guza did the same at GH in 1997.. It was very noticeable in both cases.
Right
But legally wise their names didnt appear until the other writers cycles ended.

Does it work that way? if they're done they're done is usually how it works lol
Not if they still have time on their cycles. Their names still appear

Well, I wonder & elsewhere I have asked, if they would be credited as a legality. Because no matter what this show was written by PM/Korte even if their regular shows do not start tomorrow, if you see what I mean.
Its probably contracts. They have to be credited until their cycle ends. Happened at OLTL when Ron fully took over Dena Higley was still credited for a bit

Good first episode with new writers that was PM & EK, well at least EK not C & D no matter what credits read. Good re-intro for Jason as well. Better dialogue all around
