DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
I just checked John Lupton's appearances, and his longest stint away from the show was 2 years, 5 months: Last Appearance: 5/11/73, Returned 10/24/75. So, if the pancake story ever actually happened, it would have happened on those two dates. And now checking, I have a synopsis for 2499 (10/24/75), and it states this: Alice enters Tom's office and is startled to find Tommy waiting for her. He begs her to attend the memorial services. She refuses and tells Tommy he is betraying the memory of his sister, Addie. Tommy, grieving, tells Alice she is letting Addie down by not standing by Julie. Alice cries and is comforted by Tommy, and agrees to attend memorial services. On the Anderson Terrace, Tommy comes to tell Julie her grandmother will attend the memorial services. So, being this was a serious episode dealing with David's "death", they obviously did not have Tommy eating pancakes on his return date!

Found these two interesting tidbits when checking on Pat Falken Smith. Never heard these two tidbits about Roman or Tommy before! 3/6/82: Pat Falken Smith: "Roman is from the mountains of Tennessee...We intend to explore the whole Brady family." 9/27/82: One time, Tommy Horton sat down for a pancake breakfast, disappeared for three years, and suddenly reappeared, eating the same pancakes. When Tom Horton asked where he had been, Tommy replied: "In another part of the house." Here's a few of the Pat Falken Smith lawsuit items that I found: 3/27/79 10/3/81: 11/15/81 11/15/81 3/19/82: 7/17/82: 9/23/82

Days recast
I heard from Nathan, who did the podcast, and he says that it was recorded in February, so when Thaao mentions going back on "the 8th", he is referring to March 8, not April 8.

I hadn't seen that. I'll check it out, but I've been posting the exclusive close-ups the show sent me on my FB page for the last 5 years or so. As for Dee, if the numbers hold this week, the character Steve (109 episodes) will actually beat Marlena (108 episodes) for the most appearing character. So, Dee is finally # 1 herself (when you include the Hattie episodes, in which she appeared in a few as Hattie only), but Marlena the character will be just 1 episode shy of leading this year.

Here are John Lupton's monthly stats: 7/67: 6 8/67: 5 9/67: 4 10/67: 4 11/67: 10 12/67: 11 1/68: 13 2/68: 18 3/68: 14 4/68: 14 5/68: 11 6/68: 11 7/68: 14 8/68: 5 9/68: 8 10/68: 11 11/68: 12 12/68: 7 1/69: 12 2/69: 4 3/69: 7 4/69: 4 5/69: 5 6/69: 8 7/69: 10 8/69: 8 9/69: 8 10/69: 10 11/69: 11 12/69: 8 1/70: 5 2/70: 5 3/70: 5 6/70: 9 7/70: 4 8/70: 6 9/70: 4 10/70: 1 11/70: 2 1/71: 2 2/71: 1 4/71: 3 5/71: 1 12/71: 1 5/72: 2 7/72: 1 5/73: 2 10/75: 4 11/75: 3 12/75: 5 1/76: 2 2/76: 5 3/76: 2 4/76: 2 5/76: 2 6/76: 3 7/76: 1 8/76: 1 10/76: 3 3/77: 2 4/77: 6 5/77: 3 6/77: 6 7/77: 2 8/77: 4 9/77: 4 10/77: 3 11/77: 2 1/78: 1 4/78: 2 12/78: 1 5/79: 1 7/79: 1 9/79: 3 3/80: 1 So, June 1970 was his last "big month" with 9 episodes. After June 1970, he never appeared in more than 6 episodes in a month, which makes sense, because production records confirm his contract ended in March 1970 episodes, so he only recurred for the next decade.

Does anyone watch Judge Judy? I just saw an episode from earlier this week about a woman suing a tanning salon for not returning her stuff. She looked familiar and the name sounded just a little familiar. Then I realized that plaintiff Joyette Erspamer is actually Jacee Jule's real name. So, if anyone watched Judge Judy earlier this week, that was Salem's own Patty the Salem Place waitress (and Frances Reid's long-time assistant). Judge Judy was mad that she was asking for two towels back from the new owners of the salon. She needed to sue the former owner of the salon.

"DAYS" CHRISTMAS 1967 VIDEO CLIP PROVIDES FIRST GLIMPSE OF EARLY (AND POSSIBLE) ORIGINAL HORTON ORNAMENTS... With "Days" positing a video clip from the 1967 Christmas episode, there is now confirmation that none of the early Horton ornaments survived into the 1970's. These ornaments were either all thrown out or not expected to be used again after 1967. There is no mention of the named ornaments in 1968 scripts, but they are mentioned again in 1969 scripts (which might be the episode where some of the more well-known versions of the ornaments that were donated to the Smithsonian first made their debut). The 1967 ornaments were all silver balls. "Days" did mention named ornaments in 1966 scripts, which could be the same ones used in 1967, but until a video clip of the 1966 Christmas episode is provided, there will not be confirmation if these truly are the original Horton ornaments.
