GH: October 2025 Discussion Thread
I honestly don’t get it. We know FV is obsessed with OLTL alums. So he unceremoniously dropped Charles in favor of OLTL grad Chris, then got LW to lie about it on social media? Am I following this correctly?

Yes, they absolutely used Duell’s departure as an opportunity to revamp Michael as a character.

LLC is definitely disadvantaged by the show’s wealth of great actresses over 50. She’s as good as Watros, West, Kerr, etc., but at a certain point the story can only serve so many temperamental rich ladies who look great in a midi dress. I kept thinking this week what a disaster it would’ve been if JE hadn’t agreed to come back full-time a couple of years ago. As good as SB has been, there almost would have been no way to honor Monica properly without her.

I thought the scenes with Anna, Felicia, and Nina were surprisingly well done—playing into the eerie, almost sci-fi quality of Nathan’s return. Their reactions reminded me of the great French TV show Les Revenants, about a town in which the dead return and try to live their lives normally as if nothing ever happened.

I thought the Tracy/Lucy scenes were great. They allowed the writers to acknowledge Monica as she truly was, especially her turbulent history with Alan. It was far more meaningful than watching actors who never shared scenes with Leslie talk about what a saint Monica supposedly was.

Bring it on! And sorry, I loved the dark and stormy night. I wish they hadn’t gone out of their way to exclude Kai and Trina as suspects.

Yes! Watros is such a hoot. As for today, I liked the Ava/Alexis/Kristina/Ric stuff and didn’t think it was too campy. It’s an example of what the show is still much better at than, say, Days: weaving a narrative over a period of months that culminates in this Mexican standoff of blackmail in which everyone has something on somebody else. I also liked Anna getting loaded at the Brown Dog by herself. It made her seem human. (Although it kind of made me wonder what Emma and Gio were doing on their own back at the condo lol.)

Today’s episode is a testament to the fact that GH’s biggest asset is its deep bench of veteran actresses. I find this Maxie storyline annoying because it’s another case of GH bending story to accommodate an actor’s offscreen needs but Kristina Wagner has grounded every moment in authenticity. Maura West never misses, even when the writing for her character is nonsense. She delivered some great comedic asides today. But the MVP of the episode was Nancy Lee Grahn. I love how she played the confrontation with Drew—white-knuckling it so as not to lose her temper, yet occasionally letting the rage slip out. Brilliant stuff.

The story doesn’t involve Sonny, Carly, Jason, or Drew, so it gets crammed into the edge of the frame.

I chuckled at the “Clint/Delilah” reference and don’t mind the OLTL callbacks in general but they do contribute to the overall “Frank playing with his dolls” sense of randomness that’s constantly undermining the show’s momentum. For example, rather than continuing to develop stories that were gaining steam (Lucas and Marco caught between Sidwell and Sonny, the Emma/Gio romance, Ava and Ric blackmailing Alexis, etc.) we’re watching: 1.) Sonny flirt with the ADA because Frank met Carlo Rota’s wife and decided to create a part for her. 2.) Everyone freak out over Maxie having a heart attack because Kirsten Storms decided to move to Nashville but didn’t want to leave the show. 3.) All of this Five Poppies nonsense because Steve Burton needed a love interest and his fiancee(?) suggested that Kelly Thiebaud come back.

How does the Metro Court still have a license to operate considering the number of assaults that happen on the premises, including by the co-owner?
