What I really don't understand is, the other month they had this scene where Brooke made a sudden PR move to declare herself and Ridge co-CEOs of FC. Whatever happened to that idea? Did they just drop it? Because a FC power struggle would have pitted Steffy and Brooke against each other in a major way (even though it was introduced in a way that made no sense whatsoever).

I concur with what everyone said. And I do agree it is for the best that they moved Brooke out of the romantic leading lady role that might come off as silly now that she is a bit older (still beautiful and all but the stuff she used to do that was already immature would look ridiculous on a woman in her 40s/50s),

I personally think they are not leaning on the Steffy/Brooke dynamic enough. There are enough good reasons for them to eye each other warily, enough ties between them that they can't walk away, and enough resemblance between them that the animosity could make a lot of sense - and it would mirror the show dynamic where Bell is clearly writing Steffy as the lead the way he used to with Brooke.
They are only exploring it in the context of Hope and, Brooke as marital counselor, setting aside the (dis)merits of her advice, is not really compelling material.
I really wish they would find ways to pit Steffy and Brooke against each other in ways that cut deeper and that have nothing to do with Hope or Ridge (although they'd get dragged into it) the way the Stephanie/Brooke dislike ended up being driven by many things other than Ridge and Eric over the years.
That would be my vote for the "counter-Brooke".

I was intrigued by Thomas VS Brooke in 2019, but Steffy vs Brooke if written write coulda been a serve. Or Katie VS Brooke, but the refuse to let them hate each other.

I never said VICTIM. Brooke needs to be constantly embarassed and harrassed, because of her BAD actions. She needs to be causing drama and conflict, because KKL knows how to play this. I don't think she is that OLD, that she can't be exciting messy character. Right now, Brooke is BORING. For the past couple of years the character has been sleeping and not acting like herself. The Slut From The Valley needs to re-awaken, because this is the staple of the show, like it or now. I don't like matriarch Brooke, it just doesn't work.

And again I will repeat myself, the biggest problem is LIAM. He sucks the air out of the show. He is not a Bold and Beautiful character.

Hope, needs a re-vamp. She needs to become the new ultimate slut, after some kind of horrible drama. I would so watch a show about a mother and daughter, both trainwrecks... wrecking everyone. Bridget couldn't do that. So... why not Hope.I know Hope isn't meant to be like that, but Brooke didn't start like that either.  This is a soap opera. I don't want to see proper behaviour... Sorry. I am here for Real Housewives type of drama.

But what I want will never happen.

The show will repeat and repeat, till the material is so stale, 5 people are watching in the whole world.

The last time I had a... OMG, what is going to happen moment... sadly was... 2010.

I agree Hope needs some type of revamp, but I feel like she js needs more she and substance, I don’t rly need them to like done complete 180 though. But I think her and Thomas would be a good messy dynamic. Also I get what you’re saying about Brooke, I don’t rly like this matriarch nonsense either. Ummm I woukdnt mind her being messy but not doing the same mistakes she did in her 30s, I think she need to evolve while staying interesting.

We need an older woman... Stephanie... type or even Jackie... just very older... who is obsessive and villianish-like, but not the Sheila type. We need a strong female conflict... and not Hope and Steffy. Maybe Brooke and someone else, because Brooke THRIVES when she is being abused. Donna and Katie need to dissapear for a while. Liam has to die. Bill needs to sleep with Hope. And thats when the show will be watchable again.

I feel Brooke is too old now to be the victim, i want a equal rivarly. Honestly, if they had revamped Katie after brill I think her Vs Brooke coulda been good

I think they need to stop playing and but Thomas with Hope. They have chemistry, the best in the set.

I can't remember what country it was, perhaps Greece (?) but Caroline was so popular that the show was either called "Caroline" or nicknamed "Caroline"...this could just be an urban legend, but it's a distinct memory of mine...my memories are JJ quit as Caroline, and thankfully gave enough notice that they played out her death over sufficient time. Who knows either a lack of other work or the lure of extra dollars brought her back. I quite loved the way they retconned Faith/Karen into existence...for me, it worked really well except for the horrid wig! As for $Bill...too many mentions from Bill Snr referring to Mark Lynley/Garrison as "the son I never had" poopoos $Bill's retcon into unbelievable territory, unless $Bill was an affair baby that Bill Snr didn't discover until many, many years later, much in the same way as Liam and Wyatt were introduced. It was never properly explained, and I resent the show's writers for not providing some plausible clarity. Long-time viewers were pretty much asked to swallow it and shut up. As I've always held firm especially this past 10-15 years or so, the show writes under the assumption that the audience is revolving, the audience come and go, or to not give two hoots about the history in order to meet a story agenda.

We really do need a $Bill mother backstory...could be a chance to bring in an elder actress of calibre to give something meaty for $Bill to deal

I thought 2015 January to august was good, because the show js seemed more balance again, and diverse, more a real fashion soap, also some great casting. but yeah I didn’t like how Brooke was back burner but I would put it over 2011. 2013, was kinda soapy to me too, but also kinda had the same rinse and repeat.

I pretty much agree with your assessment, but do admit to liking 2009-2012 which is when Dollar Bill joined the cast. I love that he can make my blood boil one minute and have me in stitches laughing the next. He has some great one-liners and Don Diamont has great comedic timing. I liked him with Katie in the beginning and found his flirtation with Donna, pre-Katie, to be amusing, as well.

Can't wait! Thank you for doing this, btw!!!! Hope things are better for you, as well.

Yeah I think Kim Matula, Don Diamont, and the avants cast helped the show a lot those years

    • 1987-1991: 4/5⭐ There was a pretty long and also good introduction, but there was not too much dynamic in this period. The storylines were much more magical and significant than ever, but also interesting and we wanted to see much more.
    • 1992-1996: 5/5⭐ The show became more dynamic and much more interesting - more storylines put together at the same time and those storylines were great with so many different directions and much more unanswered questions than ever - Sheila & Lauren, BeLieF battle, Taylor's death and comeback, so many new characters and also many catfights made it really enjoyable to watch.
    • 1997-2002: 4.5/5⭐ The show became dynamic as hell and still very interesting, also much more shocking but everything became less significant and we could start felling that everything goes a little too quickly without the full expend or develop, which could have been done there (children growth or mariages/relationships duration). But anyway there were still great characters and very good storylines. The only thing is that something more dark and scary was missing (better executed in the previous period) and also some of the characters were going through some changes (for example I believe they screwed-up Brooke's character then, but on the other hand she became even more fun to watch, so that's not bad I think), still we could see most of the original cast and that was great.
    • 2003-2007: 4/5⭐ This is not bad period at all but the show became too funny at some point in 2003. Most of the storylines were still good, but not that great executed. Even the fashion shows became very poor with less audience. There were some really great points and the whole story which kept us watching but also there were some questionable recasts, the storylines went a little flat and overally that was a little bit less interesting period of time compared to the previous two. And I have to admit that I didn't like the new opening, as I loved those old/new pictures from the original one.
    • 2008-: 2/5⭐ Personally I stopped watching in 2008/2009 - still checking from time to time what's going on, but I couldn't care less. After Hope/Liam/Steffy or Jackie/Owen/Bridget triangles I've said "Enough!". There was nothing interesting for me at all and everything was on one note, also became very flat. Even Stephanie's death, Quinn's introduction or Sheila's comeback couldn't help it. Almost everything what I loved in this show was gone and I stopped being curious, as there was no storyline which I liked and wanted to follow. Also we missed the original Ridge (the new one is a great actor, but he's not Ridge), also Thorne is missing (Winsor Harmon was ready to play and they just dumped him) and much more... I'm not really suprised why some actors left the show for good.

    @BoldKara

Trying to sign in, cancelling registration, waiting for like few hours (till my username and email will become available again) and signing up again worked for me and I received the confirmation email in few minutes. But please note that it will probably be in spam folder.

    1. 1992-1993(sheilas intro changed the dynamic. great complex writing, fun rivalries.

    2. 2002- very soapy, drama after drama and high stakes.

    3. 1990-1991- good pacing, interesting characters and stories with depth and when the show started to find its ground.

    4. 1999-2001- entertaining and a dynamic era, many blue prints, but the beginning of plot driven writing

    5. 1994-1996- the show became more campier also more fast paced, which in some ways was good and bad for the show, well rounded, and Intro of younger characters,

    6. 1987-1989- slow paced light introduction and setup, relatable stories, the show started moving along more with Sally’s intro.

    7. 1997-1998- a soapy drama filled era but some of the dynamics got tired.

    8. 2015- I actually thought January to august this was a great year and the first time the show tried to be diverse, had potential, ruined it later the 2nd half.

    9. 2003- good drama but ridget kinda brought it done.

    10. 2005- it was meh till Taylor returned that’s when drama started kicking in

    11. 2010- Campy but fun, vixen Steffy and Bill brought life to the show.

12.2007- fun year but at times the writing was bad

13.2008-2009- it was a pretty rounded era but a lotta Hackery and at times writing was wonky. Bills intro helped the show revamp.

    15. 2013- fun and soapy but the Liam Hope stuffy drama was tedious. Wyatt and Quinn’s intro helped revamp
    15. 2016- the avants helped bring life into the show, there was some balance. But ridiculous plot, and some stories were a copy of 2013/2014

16.2004- it had potential but the pacing of the show was slow, and the stakes weren’t high. Kinda boring.

    17. 2006- there was some good drama but a lotta hackery, and beginning of destruction of multiple characters. Also too much Brooke ridge Nick focus.

18.2014- year of romance and location shoots, good attraction to younger demos. however too much focus on triangles that were focused on Brooke and Hope.

    19. 2011-could be fun and campy but it was very ridiculous and not much sensible writing

    20. 2012- Liam Hope Steffy was entertaining to some extent but tedious and took over the entire show which almost ruined it. Nostalgia saved and brought some heart to the show.

21- 2017- had promise but a lotta missed opportunities, the phasing of the avants was disgusting, wasting of vets etc. had potential but flopped.

    21. Post 2018… not even gonna say much.

  10. Hello!! It took me over a year to make this page too. Thanks for all the hard work in this vault!

    2 hours ago, FInrod said:

Donna could've been lying, but the main issue is how supposed she hide it from Katie, Brooke, Storm and especially from her mother for so many months that she's pregnant? Also there were some scenes mentioned above with Mark and with Brooke about the pregnancy/sex/virginity, so it seemed that she was a virgin at that time. But there are much more things like this.

Personally I just hate what writers did to Katie Logan. She was always so kind, warm, silent, patient, very helpful - always helping her parents or helping Brooke with the children (remember how she still was in 2001?). After a recast with Heather Tom she became loud, hysterical, unstable, very rude and most important - bitchy, which she never was and it never should have happened with her character.

Btw. hello everyone, as my registration is taking almost a year and still nothing happens (tried few times), but I just discovered that I can post here anyway (or maybe only write but still cannot post anything) but I tried it for the last time and voila! I'm here! So thank you for all your efford and for this community that it's still alive with so many active members and interesting conversation. Thanks to you again that I can set in order all of my old B&B clips which usually are in horrible quality and there are thousands of them from everywhere.

FYI: I discovered that some of the full episodes uploaded in the vault (for example E956) have no music - no instruments, no theme sounds or any music during the dialogues or at the end of the scenes etc. - there's only the opening music. I'm not sure if this is RTL Lounge's fault/choice but the music originally was there.

Honestly I didn’t mind Heather/Katie I actually think outta all the sisters hers was most in character with how she was before, they js evolved her. I think Katie in general is a kind and forgiving person but I can see why at time she loses it. But the degrading writing for her, always letting bill and Brooke walk over her it’s the problem for me, and the character is now stale.
