How do you check that based on a single image from a thumbnail than by watching those entire episodes? Some sort of technology? Thanks

I compare the thumbnails to the German episodes. In these episodes, the characters, locations, clothes, or hair don't match the German episode. (That is, I actually watch ffwd through the German episode in search of the thumbnail and if I don't find it, it has to be from a different episode.)

poor Macy was hospitalized.. but did she die? or it happened offscreen?

The last time we saw her, she was in a coma.

Then there was a scene where Deacon and Stephanie talked about Macy having been taken off life support, but only Sally was actually there when it supposedly happened, and we never heard Sally talk about it.

So all we have to go on is Sally's word. Sally who referred to her ex husband Adam Alexander as "dead" when he wasn't. Sally who told Clarke she had terminated the pregnancy when she was expecting CJ.

In other words, Sally has lied about this exact same thing before, so the truth is we don't actually know what became of Macy.

The actress said fairly recently that Macy is still in a coma.

Thanks A LOT. Do you think they will continue with skipping the real two episodes they mislabeled or just continue with the next one, but with 2 numbers ahead.

Yeees. He is a true icon and in these situations his work can really save us.

Judging by the thumbnail, it looks like episode 3153 is correctly labeled. So it seems like they just skipped 3151 and 3152. Unless they fix it, I guess we'll have to wait for Videoland to get those in English (they are in German in the Vault).

Can you guys please tell me the exact dates of the last episodes so I can upload them to the right folders in the vault. @Videnbas - thank you so much for this.

    JESUS.

The one labeled as episode 3151 is episode 3104 (Aug. 4, 1999)

The one labeled as episode 3152 is episode 3109 (Aug, 11, 1999)

So this is already turning into a mess... I am getting really annoyed.

The last two episodes are not even from this season. I can't do this detective work every day. I was sure they are doing this again to troll us like they did before.

Now if the whole season is full of these missteps... They will again deter most viewers away.

Shame on killing every opportunity you have to draw attention on Bold.

People were really starting to watch and like it and bam... Two episodes from last season.

I watch live every day so if this happens again I will let you know! The next few thumbnails on Youtube look right to me.

There's still 2.5 weeks before S8 completes on YouTube, but yes I'd agree they would probably already have started advertising S9 as starting soon in the banner.

I would more than happily trade losing S9 for now, for HD episodes from 1987 at 3 episodes per day!

    ****

In other news, the YouTube channel has just put up episode 3104 from Season 12 and labelled it as 3151 from Season 13.

This is why we can't have nice things.

And now 3152 from S13 airing right this minute is actually episode 3109 from S12. Sigh.

I was just going to comment on that! S13 is so good, why do they have to do this? I hope they will correct this and upload the right episodes (not holding my breath though).

0 quality loss. I will do this. :)

Amazing! Thank you so much! I created some new empty folders for the new S13 episodes.

By the way, do we know if the Angel who has been uploading the 1996 episodes from Videoland is able to continue with the 1997 episodes?

i did a little trick as i have most episodes in german. I uploaded them to youtube and let them check for copyright.

they uploaded until episode 2119, but nothing between episode 2120 and 2371.

they have uploaded from the end of S12 (around episode 3115) until episode 3687 completely.

so we will get at least 500 episodes starting with season 13.

i think they stop with episode 2119 (seems the end of S8) and i hope will repost from the beginning again.

    ————

i found this out because youtube checks for copyright and so i can see the source of the copyright. And there is shows the title of the content uploaded.

I wonder what that means - the first episode they will show on Friday, March 1st, is 3135 (that is, the start of S13), so I don't understand why they would upload the last episodes from S12 without showing them. It is, however, GREAT news if they will upload S13 in its entirety - I've been waiting for this season in English for many years!

For everyone watching late 1995/1996 - I would love to hear your thoughts on the stories, characters etc. :)

I have slowed down my watching quite a bit and am still in March 1995 just days before episode #2000. I rewatched 1996 one or two years in its entirety and am ready to jump from Xmas 1995 to Xmas 1996 as soon as Videoland/our gracious Vault angels provide us with the respective episodes...

I'm currently at episode 2247, right at the beginning of the mercury storyline!

Here are my thoughts about the storylines of late 1995/early 1996:

Sheila's storyline: To me, Sheila is the best thing about this time period. Late 1995 (after Anthony's exit) was almost unwatchable to me until she returned - there was virtually no drama and all the storylines led to a dead end (Taylor/Eric, Dylan/Maggie, Sally stealing designs, Rick's tantrums, Taylor's stalker). But things are so much better now that Sheila is a major character again.

Bridget's paternity: This much anticipated reveal has shaken things up and brought a lot of drama. Some of it is quite contrived (like everyone believing Brooke bribed Dr Peters with very little evidence, Brooke conveniently leaving town, Stephanie suddenly encouraging Eric to go for custody of the kids despite him apparently being unable to take care of them in his own home, or Ridge immediately giving up his role as Bridget's father) and seems designed to make Brooke the heroine and Stephanie the villain, but it's interesting to see the whole thing unfold, mainly because of Sheila's involvement.

Jessica/Sly: This whole storyline, like everything involving Jessica, is the weakest link. Jessica just isn't a compelling character, and her plan to "teach Sly a lesson" by pretending to be pregnant after he almost forced himself on her doesn't ring true at all.

Maggie/James: I'm not really feeling this couple. Maggie is like nails on chalkboard to me, and James just isn't fit to be in any kind of romantic role.

The Spectra storyline: The Spectras have been backburnered for a while, but I am looking forward to Clarke's return and the strange storyline that will follow. I still remember those creatively ugly designs quite vividly!

Lauren is a good addition although she doesn't quite have much of a storyline right now.

Sounds like the first half of 95 will be quite exciting, with both the Anthony and Sheila stories approaching their climaxes!

Yes, the first half of 1995 has a lot of action!

Then the second half of 1995 has no exciting storylines left and we're left with dull storylines that go nowhere - Maggie's relationship with Dylan that just ends without Jessica finding out, Eric's flirtation with Taylor that just ends without Stephanie finding out, Taylor's stalker that just stops stalking her and I don't think we even find out who it was, Rick throwing tantrums that go nowhere, Sally stealing designs but changing her mind after Eric's fake proposal and then the whole thing is forgotten with no lasting consequences for anyone - just a whole bunch of anticlimaxes and no payoff.

Sheila singlehandedly saves the show by returning in late 1995 and breathing new life into it.

I’ve been skipping through late ’93 to early ’95, only for the Sheila story. But the Anthony Armando story is slowly catching my attention. I am a HUGE fan of Knots Landing and Michael Sabatino’s stint as Chip Roberts. I know what a compelling psycho he can play.

Throughout ’94, Anthony seemed rather innocuous, but now that we’ve entered ’95 and Macy has rejected Anthony to be engaged to Thorne, I see Anthony scheming and putting his plans into place… how do events lead to Anthony murdering his new love interest Ivana?? Color me intrigued.

    = = =

As mentioned, I’ve been scrolling to get an understanding of Sheila’s story during this time period. I am shocked and disappointed to realize that nothing of any significance happens during this long stretch of time of late ’93 (post-Catalina) to early ’95!

Of course Sheila’s story was interrupted by KB’s maternity leave in Jan '94. But she returned April ’94 and nothing important happens for almost a year!

The only events of note are a couple weeks in June ’94 when Jay Garvin dies, and then Sheila sleeping with Connor to get pregnant with “Eric’s baby” which winds up being a big zero, and a couple intriguing eps in Dec ’94 with James grilling Sheila in Big Bear before he is called away to Taylor in Morocco. .

Nothing happens after that for another two entire months! That’s a long time. I’m finally at 1982 2/22/95 and Sheila’s story is heating up.

Perhaps the writers felt that the Sheila/Lauren story needed a “rest” for 1994? I can’t help but think that’s an entire year of much wasted potential.

    = = =

Adding my thanks to the Angel for the continuous uploads! It’s a dream come true for the complete BnB ‘90s archive!

I find the Anthony Armando storyline of 1995 absolutely fascinating! It's one of my all-time favorites, for many reasons. It is just brilliantly structured (it is Anthony's introduction storyline played backwards, combined with clever variations on many major plot points from Thorne and Macy's previous storylines), it has hints of Faust, Shakespeare's Othello, and folk tales like Little Red Riding Hood, and Michael Sabatino is great as a psychotic villain.

It's probably the most vocal Hunter was about flat out hating a story. I mean, it goes nowhere and is abruptly dropped because she tells them she's leaving for Melrose in late 95'. They totally drop that story and promptly bring in Lauren to be a foil for Bridge (which IMO made them look terrible - Ridge making out with Taylor would be one thing as they were married and had history, but him being as tempted as he was by Lauren while he was with Brooke was a mess). But even all of that became a total waste of TEB's talent

And it shows - both HT and JM look so uncomfortable in their "romantic" scenes together.

So I've made it to this Eric/Taylor thing, and I'm curious, were people fans of this back then? Because I'm not lol

To me, Eric has just come off as creepy and obsessive the whole time. A vibe that I didn't really get when Eric/Brooke were becoming a thing.

I'm at that point too and it is VERY uncomfortable to watch! It's like even the actors don't like it. I am just waiting for it to be over.

The show had very little going on during the fall of 1995. Now Sheila is back and it's finally getting somewhat interesting again with the whole One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest thing. But anything involving Jessica or Rick is barely watchable to me.

B&B is in a lull from when Bill Bell passes the reigns to Bradley in 1993 until Fall 1994. All of Bradley's storylines culminate from Fall 1994 through the first half of 1995, then the tanking starts in the second half of 1995.

This was the same time frame that Y&R/B&B time slot rival Reilly's Days took off then blew up in the aftermath of OJ and I think that really shook up Y&R/B&B.

Exactly! The first half of 1995 has a lot going on, and then suddenly after the summer, ALL the major storylines (Taylor's return from the dead, Sheila's goodbye party, Ivana's murder) have culminated and vanished, and we're stuck with the D and E storylines (Jessica/Dylan/Maggie, preteen Rick throwing tantrums, chemistry testing Taylor with Eric) and nothing much else.

  15. I like early 1995 too! I think both Sheila's and Anthony's storylines are well done and suspenseful. The thing with the letters has a dark Faust/Othello feel to it that I'm enjoying. It's like Ivana just signed a contract with the devil by writing that letter and then losing control of it as it takes on a life of its own. And of course it is a nice continuity nod to those letters that Keith wrote to Macy two years earlier.

Oddly, for me it's the "A storyline" (Taylor coming back from the dead and S-L-O-W-L-Y revealing herself) that I find the weakest. It just went on for way too long, and at some point Taylor's increasingly contrived disguises and accents became a running joke.

  16. So I just made it to episode 2100, and the year 1995 has been exactly the way I remembered it. It kept the momentum up until the point where Sheila and Anthony got written out (and I thoroughly enjoyed watching both of them go off the rails), but then it dropped DEAD. There is literally nothing going on. The major conflict is the poorly built triangle between Jessica, Dylan and Maggie (with Maggie supposedly being more in love than ever before in her life after knowing a guy for a few weeks). The rest is basically things wrapping up (Thorne/Macy planning a wedding, Sally/Jasmine getting out of the hospital, Taylor divorcing Ridge and moving into the beach house while Ridge and Brooke are happy together) or very very minor plot developments (Rick and CJ getting into a fight at baseball practice - oh, the drama!).

The first half of 1995 I really enjoyed watching because of the dark "twin storylines" of Sheila and Anthony. They felt like the final acts of two story arcs that had been developing for a long time - Sheila's past with Lauren in Genoa City finally catching up to her and driving her to take extreme action, and Anthony's obsession with Macy (which was there from his first episode) finally coming to a head in a storyline that (cleverly) was built almost entirely on twisted fragments of Thorne's, Macy's, and Anthony's character histories. There was a sense of long term storytelling, structure, and payoff to those two storylines.

Taylor's return from the dead, however, had well and truly lost its momentum by 1995. It had been dragged on for too long and at this point her disguises and phony accents were ridiculous rather than intriguing. And her revelation to Ridge - the culmination of 10 months of storyline - fell flat.

And since Jessica was such a lackluster character, putting more focus on her by setting up a triangle with her and her mother was a mistake in my opinion. Especially since Dylan is a far more dynamic character when he's away from Jessica (he even has more chemistry with Sally).

The fall of 1995 is the first time I feel like the show could have ended and I would be okay with that.

#1809 – here is it: the one event that probably kept me watching this soap as young teen: the end of Jay Garvin. In retrospect I would have expected much more build up because it happened all so fast. James is suddenly on Sheila’s trail. The motivations remain sketchy; the writers claim that James is digging deep because Sheila is Brooke’s assistant. Dear James: Stephanie and Brooke both have some skeletons in their closets, too. But maybe this turned him on? ALL of James’ lovers on this show were rather complex (read: devious, crazy or off-the-rails) women at one point or another if I think about it… LOL

Anyway: the first of many balcony falls in B&B history (is anyone counting???) was just great TV with Sheila being cornered and well Jay taking a deep fall. To my utmost surprise the rest of the episode had some super boring stuff: Eric and Stephanie have lunch and discuss basically nothing. Jessica speaks with Ridge about his skimpy swimwear and is then introduced to Brooke. Talk about nail-biter material. NOT

There are some things that are definitely working really well in Summer 1994: the acting of Ian Buchanan and Kimberlin Brown. The wonderful conversations between Sheila and Mike – and basically every scene featuring Sheila. I have only seen Ivana’s first episode in which she bantered with Dylan – and it was GOOD. The Spectras are losing steam and my best guess is that Sally and Macy will soon make up after suffering a nasty fall-out due to Anthony. The story was a lot better than I remembered it. Now it is time to move on quickly, though, ‘cause Sally and Macy have to be at good terms – they have such a sincere relationship, IMO.

I remember the whole Ivana/Jessica storyline so differently from how it actually played out. The way I remembered it, Jessica was good and innocent and Ivana was the mean girl. But watching it now I find Ivana a LOT more interesting as a character than Jessica. Ivana is mischievous and jealous but still in a kind of relatable way, Jessica is just an annoying kid who thinks she's more mature than she really is.

And I actually liked the fallout between Sally and Macy (although it was for a silly reason) - what I didn't like was how the (inevitable) reconciliation seemed to be over and done with in just one episode, as if the writers were in a hurry to push the reset button. I would have liked to see more of a gradual realization on Sally's part.

Sheila and Mike are always a joy to watch!
