Yes, I remember that Sussman interview. And she did indeed say something to that effect.

And I liked that Ravi/Ashley, but I could see why she mentioned that he was a stop to her next love interest. Which I did feel like was Graham. The actor and Eileen I felt had great adversarial chemistry and it would have been nice to see where it went. But I also felt that it would have been better if he had been poisoning Dina rather than going the declining health route.

But I would have like to see what she could have done if she had more time and if Mal Young had not done his coup.

What did Mal do exactly? I read a few places he was eyeing the HW job but idk what's true.

Lynn if I recall  was the only one who had an exit and that was to take care of her mother in Chicago which occurred August 2004.

LOL I don’t remember Miguel’s exit being like that as I didn’t think he had one at at all. I do know in 2008 when Estella took over it was announced Miguel had retired after two years after not being seen at all.

I know Connie Wayne was announced as being retired at Newman when Kevin’s computer hacker girlfriend Natalie said she was taking over Connie’s position. Oddly thought the actresses who played Connie had kept getting younger 🤣

Funny coincidence. Someone just posted these 2008 episodes the other day on YouTube. Miguel left because his aunt got diabetes and he had to take care of her.

Thank you! This helps in my quest to find out exactly when it actually happened. No site seems to have noted her being upped to co-HW outside of @Toups and his handy archive here on the SON Community.

If it helps, when YR returned from thr Covid hiatus in 2020 her name was listed under Josh's for that first episode back in August. So probably around there.

The wife needs to settle on a story.

First it was a slimey backstab, then he was contrite about messing up his covid protocol, and now it is the writers?

She said that writet stuff and them being slimey snakes first.

Burgis video was probably Damage control

  5. Robert made a statement on FB

"Thanks to everyone for the sweet posts and messages about my joining the cast of Y&R. I couldn't be more pleased. I've had great respect for the show and it's wonderful cast for many, many years. I'm happy to be a part of it. I had a lovely zoom meeting with Josh Griffith and Anthony Morina last night. We talked quite a bit about the character, and I'm very excited by the scripts I'm getting so far. I'm scared to death, of course, but I think that's healthy. 😎

It'll be a new adventure and I'm feeling pretty blessed to have the opportunity. Cheers!"

Burgi said "I took the necessary five days that the CDC recommended.  Not within the show’s guidelines, which is a 10-day protocol. So, I inadvertently violated the show’s COVID rules and protocols."

We know that the CDC dropped the quarantine requirement to 5 days before reentering the world. BUT it ALSO added a bullet point stating people who were recently infected should, “Avoid people who are immunocompromised or at high risk for severe disease, and nursing homes and other high-risk settings, until at least after 10 days.”
    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html

I bet that's why Y&R is keeping the 10-day quarantine requirement.  Burgi should not have made an assumption. He should have called the show to ask the rules.

^ and I'm saying that .. *if* you believe his statement, then he still shouldn't have made the assumption.

But I don't really believe he told the whole story.

Yeah, I agree, there's more to it.  He statement sounded very carefully-crafted.

    Damage control for his wife

Shame about Burgi leaving (and something about Y&R scrambling says to me that it was Burgi's decision to leave), but Robert Newman has bags of screen presence too. I'm actually surprised he hasn't landed more soaps since GL ended, because he's good.

I was thinking it was a Michelle Stafford/ Gina Tognoni thing. Maybe Robert was available or somthing so they switched. Because his wife said it was the shows choice.
