  1. Whatever beef they had seems to have been hashed out a while back.
  2. Likely a just a bunch of disgruntled Brenda Dickson fans, but hey, everyone’s allowed to have opinions. 🤷‍♀️
  3. One could be because of audio fidelity (old tape cues will need to be digitized, or if the sound sounds too low quality it won't be good enough for broadcast, etc.) but also most likely because so many things needed to get chopped from the episode, you would hear the existing cues get chopped as well. Additionally, the commercial breaks are at different points in the episode than originally aired so keeping the cues would mean you would hear the cue from the previous scene bleed in as it fades from black. I noticed this with the 2004 episode as well.
  4. Click here for the rebroadcast of the episode dated 1990-03-01! Not posting to YouTube to avoid getting a Copyright Strike. This copy is from the cloud vault I just created.
  5. Other than the low quality 1996 one that has been circulating, I'm SOL. Had I known that it would have disappeared (probably because of copyright or something, I would have screen recorded my PVR recording right away. I'm working on getting the 1990-03-01 episode uploaded soon!
  6. Try using the browser in incognito mode!
  7. Click here for the rebroadcast of the episode dated 2004-07-05 from Canada! Not posting to YouTube to avoid Copyright Strike. This copy is from the cloud vault I just created.
  8. Here it is! I had a feeling the music cue was changed because the 2020 rebroadcast uses a cue not used until 1994!
  9. Hey friends! With the rise of Sony adding algorithms to episodes about to re-air being copyrighted on YouTube (even under uploading them as unlisted), I wanted to create a backup plan. Per my Twitter handle, I decided to create a cloud-based Y&R Vault! I've already shared this on the Facebook group, "The Young and the Restless - The Classic Years" group, so I'm inviting you guys to access as well as contribute to the vault! Best part - no registration required, just click on the link here and it's easy as dragging and dropping! If you're having trouble accessing the site, try using your browser's Private Browsing or Incognito mode. For full disclosure, I bought a OneDrive business account via eBay. This gives me a "lifetime" 5TB of storage. The only main concern is that it's very possible that the account may cease to work down the road - however from what I've read from other people who've done something similar, Microsoft is unlikely to be diligent about auditing these accounts that are sold. I'm also not terribly concerned about the data on this, considering it's just a collection of videos with no sensitive information. I will, however, continue to research some solutions for backing this up in the event it goes down! I've added the link to my signature so the link stays easy to find instead of sifting through hundreds of pages of threads. Perhaps I'll evolve from ChickenNuggetz92 to YRVault down the road...
  10. I got it! What I mainly wanted to see if some music redubbing was done and as it turns out, I was right! Will post later.
  11. Damn, I wanted to see the March 1, 1990 episode to see what was cut out but apparently I can't because of copyright blocking (damn they're fast haha). Is there another way it can be re-uploaded somewhere else?
  12. Agreed, this looks like a great week! Although I'm part of that "Y&R The Classic Years" Facebook group and people are still bitching and moaning that the episodes aren't old enough, like really???? 🙄 Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.
  13. False alarm! Turns out that residuals cheque was for Married With Children haha. I'm still holding out hope that they show some Tricia-centric episodes haha.
  14. Ryan was shot and killed by Tricia in November 2001 and that's how they were both written off. Nina left in earlier in 2001 to pursue her writing career until returning back to Y&R in 2009 in time for the mess of a Phillip III is back from the dead storyline.
  15. This was me inquiring about it! I'm YRVault on twitter haha. I was so surprised when he replied with a short composition, I was just expecting the name of the cue at most so that was pretty cool of him. Dobson is partially the reason we're hearing some of the old cues again. He's the Musical Supervisor, with RC Cates co-supervising (also composing). He was fired by JFP in 2012 but came back to Y&R in 2017 under Sally Sussman Morina and Kay Alden's leadership who had planned to bring the music back - however when they were pushed out in favour of Mal Young, and he had a different vision. It wasn't until Tony Morina was hired as EP that he started to slowly and sparingly bring the old cues back. I don't think it's fair to pin the blame on Dobson - his partner/EP likely have a hand in how much of the cues they use.
  16. A legion of longtime Brenda Dickson fans will fight you on that haha. Did a quick Google search and 4707 is the 1991 Masquerade Ball.
  17. Lit! Do you have the episodes where Nikki gets kidnapped by Bobby Marsino's enemies?
  18. Ugh, somebody must have flagged him. I keep forgetting there are people with no lives who live to flag videos for copyright on YouTube. I have a lot of his clips up until when he started uploading direct digital versions of the clips he used to record the screen off of. Hopefully he resurfaces and is a lot more subtle.
  19. Yay you found my twitter! Enjoy this goodie!
  20. I personally feel like while Sheila's 2005 storyline was executed well, it was very cartoonish in the writing itself. It just didn't make sense that all of a sudden she would redevelop an obsession over Scotty while most of her life before then was around raising Mary/Erica whilst supposedly raising Massimo's baby. And Sheila during her 90s run on Bold sort of humanized her in a way while raising hell. 2002 was mildly cartoonish, but the context of where the story came from at least made sense.
  21. I too think Sandra Nelson portrayed a deliciously evil Phyllis. With all this SN talk, here's one of the gems I grabbed from YouTube back in the day. Gotta love her screaming through the elevator at the end LOL. I personally wouldn't have minded Michelle Stafford back in the role of Phyllis, my biggest problem was how it played out. Gina didn't deserve to be pushed out by an actress that left their originating role twice and the whole debacle just left a sour taste in my mouth (although I blame Anthony Morina for that, not MS). I, too was exhausted by MS's portrayal as Phyllis by the end of her run because by that point, all I feel I got out of Phyllis was coming off as obnoxious and smug - not qualities I necessarily like to see in a character all the time. I will say that when challenged and when the writing warrants it, Michelle Stafford can be extremely versatile as an actress. I was watching a few clips of the short-lived Aaron Spelling primetime soap Pacific Palisades (the role that caused MS to leave Y&R the first time). There she plays a good-head-on-shoulders type character and is incredibly refreshing to see compared to her Daytime roles.
  22. Also quickly threw together a comparison clip of Sharon and Phyllis' stairwell confrontation comparing Michelle Stafford and Gina Tognoni. I will have to cut Gina some slack since she didn't have the experience of taping scenes leading to the buildup, but she did pretty well for starting raw. Best experienced with a set of headphones or earbuds.
  23. Glad I could help, @BoldRestless! On a side note, I'm not sure if this counts as "old" per se, but since many of us are mourning the firing of Gina Tognoni from the role of Phyllis, I thought it would be in good taste to commemorate her work by posting one of my favourite scenes from her run as Phyllis. I f-loved GT's chemistry with Sharon Case. Kind of makes me wonder how Michelle Stafford would play off these scenes.
