Marlena took off from visiting Carrie to meet Maggie for brunch at The Continental Hotel. When she entered she searched for her friend but was shocked, and horrified to see Stefano DiMera cross the lobby. Marlena tried to hide, but there was nowhere and the two locked eyes. "Good morning to you, Doctor Evans" greeted Stefano. Marlena knew that smirk he had his face. She hated this man for everything he and his family have ever done to her and her family, but she knew this wasnt the time nor place for a showdown. "Shame, isnt it? That Samantha will be sent to prison for murdering my son. Ironic too" He added before starting to walk way. "Ironic? I can not fathom that even you would have the gall to stand here and say such a thing to me" Marlena responded, against her better judgement. "For the record, Sami has not been sentenced yet and I am confident that she will be found not guilty". "Interesting choice of words, Marlena. Not guilty, not innocent. A telling choice" "You know what Stefano, if Sami did do it then good her her. He raped her. He tortured her. He made her life hell and used her children as weapons against her. He attacked her family. He deserved to die" She stated unable to hide her emotions. "Yet, she loved him. That must really get to you. That your daughter would love such a man, and my son. What one did you hate more? The fact that Samantha made it clear how awful you failed as a parent, or that she was in love with my son?" "How dare you stand here and judge my parenting of Sami when YOU took that right away from me, from her. You kept me prisoner, locked up, for years and made everyone think I was dead. I was not there for Sami growing up and I hate that, but that is your fault and you know it" Marlena lashed out, trying to hold it together. "Too bad she doesn't see it that way. And for her sake, you better hope she is found guilty" Stefano added before walking away. As he walked away he turned back to see Marlena sitting down, sobbing. His queen of the night was breaking. -- Don Craig was walking through the Horton Town Square to meet Riley. The two were going house hunting today for a place to lease for their duration in Salem. He passed by the tree and noticed the plaque of Tom and Alice, stopping to admire it. “They were great people, did you know them?” Maggie asked. “You could say th-“ Don replied as he turned around to face the woman. “Oh my god. Don?” Maggie asked, shocked. "It has been so long! What brings you back to Salem?" "Business, but enough about that - how are you? I see you are a Kirakis and not a Horton now" "I will always be a Horton. But yes, after Mickey died I found myself wrapped up with Victor as our grandkids were dating and... wow. Its really, really nice to see you" Maggie said, awkwardly. "I am sorry about Mickey. I know how much you loved him. Listen, I have got to run but here is my card, call me" Don said as he handed her his card and took off. He wasnt ready to see her, to deal with this. -- “So, what did you and my boyfriend talk about while running?” Will asked, running into Riley on the pier. “I bet you’d like to know, but I’m busy” Riley snapped as he took off. “Mom, I need some advice…” Will said after dialing his mothers number. A half hour later Sami was at the Pub waiting for Will. She could tell he was uneasy and so glad he called her. The two had a rocky relationship much like she had with her own mother. Will joined her at the back table. "What is it? What is going on? How can I help?" Sami asked, desperate yet joyful at the situation. "Well, its about boys and relationships" Will told her, not believing he was turning to her of all people. Sami was visable shocked herself. "Yeah, trust me I am more shocked about this than you are but the thing is, this new guy Riley... he is.. he is trying to take Sonny away from me and I know it but Sonny just thinks he is the nice new guy with no friends" Will added, annoyed. Sami smiled. She was kind of impressed to see that Will did take after her in some ways after all. She sat back and asked Will to tell her everything he knows about the kid and his friendship with Sonny so far so she could come up with a plan. Sami really needed this distraction and she was very happy to be helping Will out. -- Maggie walked into the hotel restaurant and spotted her friend. As she sat down at the table she apologized for being late and was about to explain who she ran into when she noticed Marlena had been crying but tried to cover up. Maggie pressed her on the matter and Marlena explained her run in with Stefano. Maggie tried to be supportive and convince Marlena that Sami would get through this, but she was doubtful herself as it wasnt as if Sami had the best reputation. "Well, guess who I just ran into. You will never believe it!" Maggie exclaimed, deciding to shift the conversation and get Marlena's mind off things for awhile. Marlena looked deep in thought for a moment, trying to figure it out. "Julie?" She guessed, unsure of who to say. "Don!" Maggie practically shouted. "You mean Doug?" Marlena questioned before it started to set in. "No, Don. Don Craig. You'r exhusband, my ex.. whatever you want to call it" Maggie explained "Lover. I believe that would be the proper term" she laughed. "Wait.. what?" Marlena asked, still not grasping the situation. "I dont really know to be honest, I ran into him and he seemed fine at first, but then he said he had to run off and was in town on business and handed me his card before we really got to talk. It was odd how he went from clearly happy to see to clearly making up a lie to get out of talking to me" Maggie explained. "Really Maggie? He was in love with you and it broke his heart when you went back to Mickey, maybe it all came back to him right then as he hasnt been in town, seen, or talked to you since he left" Marlena stated. Maggie started to think back on her romance and affair with Don Craig. Mickey had died, she though, but it was all a set up by Stefano. Maggie hadn't thought about this part of her life in years, but she instantly smiled thinking back on her time with Don. -- "Well, if you are sure hiring another man to make Riley look bad wont work and you refuse to drug him or set him up for a crime, I guess that only leaves fighting for Sonny, and fighting hard. Take this kid, Riley, in. Make him think it is all good and you love that Sonny has a new friend" Sami plotted. "Keep you friends close, your enemies closer?" Will asked "Exactly. If he wants Sonny he wont like it, at all. Make him uncomfortable being your friend by being so nice and then mention to Sonny how you dont think he likes you and you keep trying but just feel like he doesnt ever want you around" She added. Will nodded. He could do this, after all Sami, Lucas and Kate are his family members and this runs through their blood. He thanked his mother as he kissed her on the forhead and said goodbye. Sami dialed Carries number to leave her a message, checking to make sure she was prepared for this murder trial as it started in just a few days. As she got up to leave she wasnt paying attention and bumped into a man. "Im so sorry sir" She said, realizing he was an older man and genuinely feeling bad. She noticed he dropped his coffee and asked to buy him a new one. He accepted. After getting the coffee she joined him at the table. "Here you go sir, again, im sorry about that" Sami offered. "Im sorry, what did you say your name was?" He asked. "Samantha Brady, and yours?" "Don, Listen Samantha I am new in town and very busy with business dealings and in need of an assistant. You wouldn't be interested would you?" He asked. "Actually, normally I would be but you see I have this little legal issue, well.. a murder trial really, but I am innocent, sort of. Anyways i am not really in a position to be a help to you, but my son, Will, he would be great" Sami offered "Well, you sound like you live an interesting life. Here is my card, tell your son to call me... and Mrs Brady, good luck on that little legal issue" He responded, handing her his card. He smiled to himself, Though Sami wouldnt be his way back into Marlena's life, Will Horton could work. Plus he is related to Maggie. ---- Next Week on Days: Will plots to keep his man Marlena and Don come face to face Sami's murder trial begins!

QUESTION: Is this format easier or harder to read/follow?

Sonny was lacing up his running shoes as his boyfriend woke up. Will moved across the bed so he was pressed up against Sonny’s back. As he wrapped his arms around him and placed his chin on Sonny’s shoulder and asked where he was off too. “I am going running with Riley” was an answer Will wasn’t exactly thrilled to hear. “Why don’t you come back to bed, get a workout here… with me” Will offered in response, aware of how jealous he was coming off. “As nice as that sounds, I can’t just bail on him. He is new in town and he isn’t like us, he doesn’t have a huge family or former group of friends to hang out with. His grandpa is always at work and courses are off still, plus I like making new friends. Rain check?” Sonny explained, not addressing but kind of enjoying how clearly it was that Will was jealous. “What’s up, buddy?” Riley asked, with only a slight flirtation as he nudged Sonny upon seeing him in the park. “I will have you know that I just left my very handsome, very naked boyfriend in bed for this run, so you better bring it” Sonny smirked as he pushed his new friend back. He knew he was flirting, that he was leading this guy on, that it was wrong, but for some reason he didn’t care. “You ok man? You seem like something is bothering you?” Sonny asked. “Really? You think you know me well enough to know when everything isn’t right and I have something on my mind.” Riley asked back, intrigued. “Yeah, I do actually. There’s just.. I don’t know..” “Yeah, I get it.. actually there is something bothering me but Im not supposed to talk about and im just really conflicted here because I feel like we have just bonded so fast and I can open up to you… but…” “But what?” Sonny asked as he put his hand on Rileys shoulder “Its something my gramps told me and I swore I wouldn’t repeat it” “You can tell me, I wont tell anyone. Our secret, promise” “Not even Will?” Riley asked, curious “Not even Will” Sonny replied, knowing how wrong it was. Sonny and Riley arrived at the coffee shop Sonny owned. It was only 5:30am so nobody was there. Sonny explained it would be private and Riley could explain his situation as he opened up and Riley agreed. Riley wasn’t sure why he was betraying his grandfather like this, but he just felt a draw, a connection to Sonny and he needed someone to talk to. “Well, last night he sat me down and said he had some things to tell me. I guess he’s from here Sonny, and he doesn’t want anyone to know he is back. It’s all very weird and I just have a feeling not exactly on the up and up, ya know?” Riley opened up. “OK, don’t you know anything from his past?” Sonny asked. “Nah, he doesn’t talk about it. I figured because my mom died and his life before taking me was to painful, I don’t know about his wife or my mom’s mom or anything. We just never spoke of it and I guess I never wanted to press him before, but man… I’m so curious. I want to get to know him better, really know him.” Riley told “Yeah, dude, I totally get that. You know me and my Grandpa Victor, we are good and all but I wouldn’t say we are close. I really do want to get to know him, truly know him, and hear his stories before it’s too late” Sonny replied, unaware of this himself until this moment. “I’m not sure why I haven’t actually. He and his new wife, Maggie, are really cool so I should make the effort” he added. “Maggie?” Riley asked “Yeah, why?” “My grandpa mentioned a woman he fell in love with here in Salem, Maggie, and how he lost her because her husband Mickey or something came back to her or something like that, how crazy would that be if it were the same Maggie?” “I think you are about to discover in this town, that’s far from crazy” -- Austin Reed woke up in a bed that wasn’t his, in a house he knew he didn’t live in and next to a woman that was defiantly not his wife. He couldn’t get a good look at her, really, and he fumbled out of bed trying not to make a noise so he could sneak out. As his eyes cleared and he searched for his pants the room started to look familiar to him. “No, cant be..” he thought to himself. “[!@#$%^&*]. [!@#$%^&*]. [!@#$%^&*]. What did I do? Oh [!@#$%^&*]” he whispered to himself in a panic as he looked for his clothes and debated just getting out of there in nothing but his boxers. He sat on the bed, defeated. He knew he was going to have to face this sooner or later and [!@#$%^&*], his head hurt. “Was I drinking last night?” he asked himself at a whisper again. Just then the woman sat up. “Yeah, and for the record you are to old to get so drunk you puke all over yourself and need to be cared for. Im the one on trial for murder, maybe I’m the one who should be taken care of?” Sami answered, amused at his pain. “Sami, what happened last night?” Austin asked. “Well, you cmae over under the guise of taking care of me. We then started to drink, I stopped, you didn’t. You called Carrie and left her a rather splendid voicemail, puked all yourself and my mothers sofa, then I put you to bed in the guest room here and you.. well, you were crying and I felt bad so I stayed and ended up falling asleep. Wait.. you didn’t think that I.. that we.. had sex?” Sami replied. Austin just raised an eyebrow and smiled. “Or that you drugged me?” he joked prompting her to playfully slap him before he tackled her onto the bed. Their lips inches apart, their hearts beating. It wasn’t until this moment either one let their minds really wonder there, but now the tension was so thick neither knew what to do. Sami threw Austin his clothes she retrieved from the dryer and the two headed down the stairs. In the kitchen Marlena was cooking breakfast. When Marlena joked about how this felt like she had a teenager again, Sami couldn’t help but ask when Marlena ever did this for her as a teenager, prompting an eye roll from both. Austin excused himself and took off to his house. “Don’t even ask.” Sami said before Marlena could. -- “Good morning, husband. Have fun with my sister last night?” Carrie asked as Austin walked in the door. “Good morning to you too, estranged wife. Have fun with your sister’s husband while you were [!@#$%^&*] him behind our back?” Austin replied, annoyed at Carries question and tone when she was the one who cheated and ended their marriage, again. He couldn’t believe she would think he’d just jump into bed with Sami, even though he himself had thought it this morning. “I am not doing this Austin. This is not 1995 again. I will not sit by while that bitch tries to take you from me this time!” Carrie shouted the rage undeniable. “Take me from you? Recent history recap, hun, you cheated on me. With her husband! Why are you even here? You’re the one who stalls our divorce, not me. I am so done with this, with you. I swear to god Sami is right about you, you really are a sanctimonious hypocrite. Now get out of MY house!” “That little bitch. She’s got to you. She will never grow up. Even as she stands trial for murder – again – she refuses to be an adult and let go of the past. I can’t” Carrie said more to herself than to Austin before leaving. “Marlena, I can’t do this. I’m not a criminal lawyer, I’m not familiar with the laws about murder here, and I hate her. I hate her!” Carrie vented to Marlena. Marlena calmed her down and explained why she had to do this, and that she knew she could. “What if I just don’t want to?” Carrie asked. “I assume this is about Austin staying the night? Listen, you’re a good person. You’re hurt right now and living in the past. You can do this, and if you don’t want to help her do it for me, do it for will, do it for yourself in spite of that little voice telling you how great life would be without her” Marlena replied. -- Marlena took off from visiting Carrie to meet Maggie for brunch at The Continental Hotel. When she entered she searched for her friend but was shocked, and horrified to see Stefano DiMera cross the lobby. Marlena tried to hide, but there was nowhere and the two locked eyes. Don Craig was walking through the Horton Town Square to meet Riley. The two were going house hunting today for a place to lease for their duration in Salem. Don?” Maggie asked, shocked. “So, what did you and my boyfriend talk about while running?” Will asked, running into Riley on the pier. “I bet you’d like to know, but I’m busy” Riley snapped as he took off. “Mom, I need some advice…” Will said after dialing his mothers number.

Sami couldn’t believe what she was seeing. “No… no. This can’t be” she whispered to herself as she approached the man standing in the door way. “EJ? Is it really you? It… no.. it can’t be. I saw… she killed you for…” she continued on as she held his hand and stroked his face before leaning in and kissing him. As they kissed memories came flooding back to her: the first day they met in the hallway, the tango on the pier, the business trips before she knew who he was, the black wedding, fighting in the funeral home after Grace died all of it. “I love you” she said, looking into his eyes. “You see, Mrs Brady – You, of all people, know what Samantha is capable of. The damage she causes. The way I see it is if you just let her go down for this murder that we all know she committed, you would be saving yourself and your family from decades more of her selfish actions that hurt everyone around her” Stefano explained to Carrie as he took a seat in her office and smiled. “Marlena, he doesn’t look like anyone we know? Maybe someone’s child or something?” Maggie asked, her voice sounding more like she was pleading for her friend to give her something. Marlena sat forward and studied the features of the young man talking to her grandson. “You know” Marlena replied, adding “He does. I really can’t place it though. It’s like he looks like someone from… a long time ago.” Before the women could try to figure it out any further he took off. -- “Stefano, what would make you think I would ever send my sister up the river? True, she has dome some horrible, unforgivable things to me over the years but she is still my sister. My family. If she did murder EJ, it was just. He tortured her for years, he was obsessed with her. Driven by your obsession with our mother” Carrie said, trying to stay composed in front of her unexpected visitor. Stefano smiled, once again, and sat back. “Anna? Or Marlena?” He asked. “Sami, Sami.. its not.. im not.. its Austin” Austin explained as he pulled back from the kiss with Sami. Sami stepped back, looking into his eyes before her own filled up with tears. “Im so sorry… I thought.. it was just… Austin..” she tried to explain before falling into his arms. “Wow Sami, I guess you really did love him. I cant imagine what this must be like for you.. but don’t… don’t let this consume you. You must have killed him for a reason. Remember him for that, not for the good times, not yet anyways” he tried to rationale. “Let me take you home” He offered. “Will, who was that?” Marlena asked. “His name is like.. Riley? Im not sure. He is new in town, I guess. Why?” Will asked. “He just looks so familiar to me, you didn’t get his last name?” Maggie interjected. Will shook his head no before running off to class. “Anyways, Marlena, dear… how is Sami holding up?” Maggie asked. Marlena shook her head, “Not well. Neither am I.” -- “You know damn well I was talking about Marlena” Carrie threw back, the anger visible in tone. “Well, you know me and your actual mother, Anna, we have quite the history” Stefano replied, a smirk he couldn’t even hide. “Closer than I ever have been with her, im sure. Now if youll excuse yourself I have work to do” Carrie responded as she stood up. Later that day, Riley returned to his hotel suite. He logged onto his facebook page and found Sonny and Will, requesting them as friends. His grandfather returned and Riley filled him in on his day, and his new friends. “What did you say their names were again?” the older man asked. “Sonny. Sonny Kiriakis and Will Horton” Riley said. His grandfather’s face told him that he knew these names, but he knew better than to press the man. While he had raised him with love and care, when he didn’t want to talk about something that was it and it was clear to him this was one of those times. “Sami, can we talk?” Marlena timidity asked. “No, mother, we can not. I honestly do not have much to say to you. You killed him. You killed the man I loved because you assume he killed the man you love – who for all we know just left you. And now.. now I am trial for his murder and I have to keep that going to protect you and im wondering why I am doing that right now, because you sure as hell don’t deserve it!” Sami snapped in reply before heading up the stairs to get away from her. Marlena was not about to give up though, as she followed Sami explaining “He did kill him! EJ murdered John and you know it! I know it! He deserved what he got and the fact that you love him is sick, Sami, it truly is. He raped you, he tortured you and made life hell for you. You have hated me for 20 years because I slept with John when married to your father, but you forgive him? Explain that to me” she demanded. She was surpised by the tone of Sami’s response, as it was clam and understated “I deserved it. That’s why. I deserved everything he did to me. But what you did? What you put me through? No. I didn’t deserve that. Lets not just pretend it was the affair either. It was all the years after it too and Carrie, you know that” -- Carrie decided to go get some coffee and was happy to run into her nephew Will. “How you holding up” She asked as she sat with him at the table. “Ive had better days. My mother just murdered someone and is going on trial, im sure Stefano is out to get our family again, and im pretty sure my boyfriend has the hots for someone else” he said, laughing it off. Carrie just hugged him, needing it just as much for herself as him. “There is nothing you can do about the first two, but as for Sonny – Don’t mimic your mothers actions. Be truthful. Be honest. You will get through it” she advised, wishing she had followed the same advice herself before she lost Austin. “Grandpa, have you ever been here before?” Riley asked, curious and hoping it to lead into how he knows who Sonny and Will are. “Yes, I have. Many years ago, a lifetime ago. You know.. maybe it is time you and me talk about your father, this town, everything ive avoided and you’ve not brought up out of respect for me” Don replied. “Lets do this tomorrow, over lunch” Don asked. After Riley agreed and left the room Don couldn’t help but think of Marlena, of Maggie, of a life he had long pushed back and forgotten. -- Next Week: Will starts to doubt the love Sonny has for him. Don Craig comes face to face with a woman from his past. Sami's murder trial begins. Carrie fights for Austin. Billie demands answers from Shane. Stefano and Marlena face off.

Carl, yeah my editing skills are not good and that is bad because they were never great to begin with. being out of college for six months is showing, but im hoping it will get better as I do it more again. I def plan on formatting it more like the first episode, with photos and breaks and stuff. I just wanted to get this up to see if people still cared Maggie/Marlena is one of my favorite friendships ever, and it will be heavily played in this. BE- Sami/Stefano - i will say this, is huge. Im also building to a Marlena/Sami & Marlena/Stefano thing where a lot will be answered about EJ's murder and what happened to John. Carrie/Stefano - I cant think of a scene of just the two of them ever actually. and Id say if your a betting man youd be winning about Riley. AMS - Thanks for the feedback! I personally picture Asher from AMC. You?

Marlena decided to head upstairs and check on Sami but was surprised to see she wasn’t in the home anywhere. “Oh Sami, where are you” she thought to herself before dialing Roman to see if she was with him. In the Horton Town Square Sonny was running late for a date with Will when he ran into someone, knocking them down. Sonny helped the young man up and couldn’t help but check him out before apologizing. “It’s cool dude, no biggie. I am Riley” the stranger said as he extended his hand. “Sonny, nice to meet you” the two exchanged smiles. “Sami, where have you been?” Carrie asked, the tone visibly annoyed at her sister being late. “It’s not Sami, but I have been gone for too long and its time I set you straight” Billie exclaimed as she sat down. Carrie took a deep breath as she sat forward to make eye contact. Maggie and Victor were having coffee at Sonny’s shop. Maggie was filling Victor in on her trip to Nashville catching up with Melissa, Sarah, Nathan and Melanie, who had just started interning for her nursing program there. Victor loved seeing his wife so happy but didn’t have much to offer seeing as no matter how hard he tried to truly care, he didn’t. His mind was elsewhere as it had been for months now, and he suspected Maggie knew it but just went along. “Doc, how are you?” Roman asked upon answering Marlenas call. “Not well, is Sami with you? She is not here and I’m just terrified of what she might doing” she replied, frantic. “Why? It’s not like I’m the killer in this room” Sami replied from the doorway. Marlena hung up on Roman and gave Sami that look, and Sami rolled her eyes and walked past her mother as if she wasn’t there. “So, what brings you to town?” Sonny asked his new friend as they walked into the coffee shop. “Oh, My grandpa. He just bought some new company here and I had applied to Salem U before so they let me in this semester. We are pretty close, it’s always just been the two of us” Riley told him. “That’s cool. My grandpa is right over there, we have become pretty close too. How did you grandpa take you coming out” Sonny asked. Riley looked at him, puzzled. “You lying little bitch. I defended you after your affair with Mike. I really did. I told Austin to give you another shot and just because she cheated once doesn’t mean she would again. I was wrong. You know, everyone always says Sami is the bad seed of the Brady family. At least she owns that. You’re the worst kind of person, really. You act all sweet and nice and loving, but really you’re just selfish. This affair nearly killed him and I will make sure you never have the chance to break his heart again, do you understand me?” Billie stated as she stood up. Carrie didn’t dare say a word. She deserved this, and she knew that. “That’s enough Billie” Austin said as he entered the office. “What are you doing here? You can’t tell me she’s already got you suckered back in?” Billie asked her brother. Austin explained no, and that he was only here to meet Sami. Marlena wanted desperately to go talk to Sami, but she knew that would not go over well. Not now. She didn’t know what to do or how to handle this situation. After feeling sorry for herself for a few minutes she texted her old friend Maggie to meet up. At the coffee shop, Victor had stated talking about Titan and what was going on there when Maggie got distracted by Sonny and his friend. The guy he talked to looked familiar to her, but she couldn’t place him. “What makes you think I’m gay?” Riley asked. Sonny was unsure of how to answer that and after searching for the words and trying to get an apology out Riley laughed and told him that his grandpa didn’t care at all. Sonny started to laugh too, feeling relieved. As the two were laughing and having a good time, Will walked in surprised by what he saw. “Carrie, I am only here because you told me Sami would be here at eleven. Its eleven thirty now and she’s nowhere to be seen. You can’t use her to see me, that’s unfair” Austin told her, the anger from her recent affair seeping out of every word. “That’s not- Austin. Austin!” she replied, trying to stop him from leaving. She sat at her desk and cried for a minute before composing herself when someone walked in the door. “I would be crying if I were you too, Mrs Brady. You are in way over your head, but then again you might not mind seeing your younger sister go off to prison after all she’s done to you” said the voice of Stefano DiMera as he entered her office and shut the door. “Will Horton” Will said, introducing himself. “Oh! Your will. Your boyfriend here was just telling me about you. I’m Riley, I just got into town today and your buddy here almost killed me” He said, laughing. Marlena walked into the coffee shop to find Maggie sitting alone, staring at Will, Sonny and one of their friends looking deep in thought. Maggie didn’t even notice Marlena sit down until Marlena asked her what she was thinking about. “That boy over there with Will and Sonny, doesn’t he look familiar?” Maggie asked. Marlena looked at him and had to agree. “We must have seen him with them before” Marlena rationalized. “No, no. I heard him say he just got into town today” Maggie explained. Sami arrived at the DiMera Mansion. She used her key to let herself in. The house was creepier than ever. So quiet. She knew Stefano had been staying at a rental since the murder. She entered the living room, the blood stain from EJ’s gunshot wound still visible. She just stared at it, reliving that night. She was lost in her memories when she heard someone enter the house. “EJ?!” she gasped.
