Nice to see Sharon Case get a story.
I find Tessa somewhat more tolerable these days (small doses) but she still needs to go. A better actress would've been able to make me care, ditto Lola and her creepy smiling.
Watching Y&R today, I wish they never decided to go contemporary. I miss the slow burn and classical cues, and of course the towering performances. Yesterday's Y&R was timeless, today's Y&R is forgettable unfortunately.

Chelsea sucks. The fact that she jumped between Nick and Adam so quickly is tacky as hell. Also, Connor is an annoying brat.
The Paul/Christine/Lauren/Michael scenes at Society were bad because these four characters should not be this chummy whatsoever.
Tessa continues to be deceitful
Lovely seeing Fen!
Wasn't a fan of the Abbott Christmas, but loved seeing Dinah again
NuChance needs to be recast pronto. Actor is smug and unlikable

Yes, that Phyllis scene was horrible with the waitress. I miss Gina Tognoni, and will admit the writing is doing MS no favours either.
On a superficial note, Kyle looked REALLY good in that brown cardigan.
They really don't know what to do with Nick.
Have no idea what's going on with Billy, but it sucks.
Nate is acting like a whole bitch to Devon

Not a fan of the actress, but did enjoy the first film.

With the recent Golden Globes noms and Ana de Armas nomination, I am reminded of how insufferable Lola is on Y&R (not as much recently). After recently watching Knives Out, it was overhyped and under-delivered. The constant love and sainthood for Marta just reminded me of Y&R's Lola, and the actress was less than inspiring.

The Colin debacle is awful.
Chelsea is not working at all.

That can be levelled at every Head Writer and Executive Producer since Kay Alden and David Shaughnessy respectively. One thing that stuck with me watching the episode was as the flashbacks became more recent, you could see the writing and production values decrease.
From the lighting to the camera angles, direction and music.
Good points. This show just made me miss Y&R so much. Even the classic scenes shown can still do well today IMO.

That Jack episode was absolutely beautiful (the scene with John & Dina were heart wrenching). Also, the lighting, I miss it, and also the seriousness of the show (business, family, death)
How can Griffith put this together and not understand what made the show so wonderful?
I've always enjoyed Peter Bergman as Jack, and this was a lovely episode. As much as I enjoy Dina and Marla, I don't mind that they gave her Alzhemiers because Marla did fascinating work and I do think it is a tragic swan song for such a large character.
Edit: Early Phyllis/Jack is actually really good. Man, all of those flashback scenes were grounded in mostly reality. No doppelgängers, no silly plots, just character driven drama. Come back Y&R.....

I feel sorry for Mishael Morgan. Yes she has nice chemistry with Nate, but the character just isn't working for me.
Speaking of Nate, I wish they'd bring back Olivia. Although, it appears TLW does not want to return the show (this is my own speculation).

I have to say, ever since that CBS exec left, Lola has become a bit more tolerable. I don't mind her scenes with Theo.
New Chance is a BUST.

Are you referring to the actors or writers? Because if the writing continues to suck...no great actor can make Ron's sh!tty writing work.
Valid point, I meant on the acting side.

So I kinda enjoyed the hostage stuff. I thought the actor did a really good job.

I get that we all have an attachment to these shows, but at this point, when things get this bad, cancellation seems like the only viable option. I'd rather that than see the show cling to life support on a non-existent budget with barely any recognizable cast. It's just too damn painful to see these shows become less reputable than a high school play.
I agree, but I also find there is a ton of talent out there, you just need to actually give a damn.

Wow, that's brutal. I hope they can work something up. As much as these shows annoy me at times, they still provide a sort of comfort and steadiness in my life just knowing that they exist.

I always thought that characters like Mitchell Sherman were a part of what made Y&R a cut above: the supporting character whose presence added realism to any storyline.
Agreed. Mitchell, Miguel, Mamie, Mary.... I sure do miss them all

I actually liked the Halloween parody, especially the Abby one.
As much as I dislike Tessa, I do appreciate the anniversary scenes dedicated to the couple. I think they are better in small doses when they are not being judgmental.

Robert Adamson just doesn't work as Noah in the long-term, IMO. He now looks too damn old for the role, yet has the puny voice that no one can take seriously.
Better writing would help, but they need a more formidable and charismatic actor in that role.
Can't say I agree with this, sounds slightly sexist.

This Theo stuff is AWFUL and UNNECESSARY. And OMG what the hell are they writing for Phyllis? Phyllis on Adam couch begging to be accepted, and then ripping up the cheque? So much awfulness and Stafford once again did not deliver. I wonder if she regrets coming back, because it looks like the cast has moved on from MS Phyllis, even from the scene interactions.

I think Jill has to be in this story if this is Cane's exit story. My theory is Colin & Cane are pulling the scam. Colin because he's out of money since Jill divorced him, and Cane to get back at Devon for putting Lilly in jail. She's going to have a rude awakening when she finds out Cane scammed her again.
Perfect time for Chance ( and/or Phillip III) to appear. It's time Jill had a relationship with her real son/grandson instead of a fake one.
Not to mention there should be actual Chancellors in Genoa City!
Jill needs one of them to take over at CI for her since they won't let her be seen running it.
Katherine's will story could have been interesting if they had Chance and Mac contesting the will. Then it would have been about Katherine & Chancellors. But the story really seems to be about Amanda coming, & Cane exiting. It was obvious that as soon as they named Cane it was a scam. I could have bought Chance. Katherine could have left Chance the bulk of her fortune to him to make up for killing his grandfather.
Dear God in heaven I hope you're right!

You know, I really hate this Devon story. It could've been done so much better if they were going to contest the will. But to give it to EFFIN Cane is so damn dumb. I also don't think I've disliked Jill more than now. If this is why they brought Jill back, they might as well ship her off. This whole thins is just completely insulting and dumb as hell. Why are they believing Cane who is a REPEATED LIAR? No way in hell Katherine would leave her inheritance to Cane. Just so damn dumb

Kyle and Theo seriously need to hook up. The ratings would skyrocket if done right

YES THAT WAS SO AWESOME!
The writing for Elektra this season (minus an episode or 2) was MUCH better. That final was everything. Love seeing them end on a happy note. Did anyone get an "X-Men" vibe with Blanca as the professor adding the two children to her home? It was sweet and I loved it all. The Pose cast deserves all the nominations next year and wins. Can't wait for season 3.
Also, the masculinity/femininity talk was beautifully done. Watched that one a couple of times.
One thing I hope the show never does again is bring back Patti Lupone or any stunt casting. That character was just odd at times.

Loved Victor and Victoria's scene.
Yes, those scenes were great and heartfelt. I know people say that Braeden doesn't try as much, but he always hits scenes like this out of the park.
And call me crazy but Theo and Lola have some great chemistry! Much better than Kyle/Lola. Theo actually makes Lola tolerable

Although I can’t stand Tessa, it’s nice to see a lesbian relationship onscreen in daytime. LGBTQ is normally always focused on the “G,” so this is a nice change. I just wish Tessa the actress was better
