EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Today's episode was two different episodes fused into one since there was no Monday episode because of the World Cup. That kind of showed and disrupted the flow of the overall episode a bit. I did enjoy Glenda putting the screws on Danny and how she let it slip that he's not really Archie's son at the end. What a nasty little rat he is, and how abusive he was towards Glenda. I'm glad Danny's time is coming to an end. Glenda's scenes with Ronnie and Roxy were very good, I thought. The Lucas stuff is scattered because of the rewrite they had to pull. I did laugh when Patrick walked in on Denise in her lingerie though. Why is Abi whorifying herself to impress Jordan? I really liked Stacey and Jean's scene at the bench in the beginning of the episode when Stacey tells Jean that she isn't ready to be a mother. Janine (to Lucas): I need cleansing! I guess Janine stealing Charlie's money is going to be conflict between her and Ryan. Mo was hilarious in this episode both at Stacey's baby shower and during that dinner with Ryan.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
I've heard today's E4 episode and tomorrow's main C4 episode had some really great scenes with Steph, I guess we might as well soap up as much as we can when Carley's still on the show. It looks like her departure was sudden and shocking. Remember when Marquess said in his interview that they had the cancer storyline planned until early next year? It looks like it will be cut down due to Carley leaving when her contract is up. I wonder if Steph gets a happy ending though, that article says she follows her dreams of being a star. Maybe she beats cancer and then gets a musical theatre part in London or something and leaves, to tie it in with the reason Carley is leave the show...

Maybe Tanya can help when she comes back full-time (which I know you're just dying for, Carl).

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
A LOT is happening in next Wednesday's hour long episode though with Harry's arrival, Tanya's one-off appearance until she's back full-time, Lauren's exit, Stacey giving birth, and so on. It should be a stellar episode.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
How long is Harry going to be on anyway? It doesn't seem like he's a long-term character. Zoe Lucker's original stint is only 7 episodes, so who knows if Vanessa will still be with Harry by her next stint.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Jodie mentioned last week that she has nephews, which suggested that her father might have had older children from a previous marriage/relationship. So, I'm not surprised Harry is much older than Vanessa. I'm sure money had a lot to do with their marriage. Vanessa is also meeting Abi and Lauren during next Wednesday's hour-long episode. I'm not surprised we'll be getting to see Harry and know more about Vanessa in that episode, as Simon Ashdown is writing it and he created Vanessa and Jodie. Looks like Stacey is going into contractions in the rain with Ryan there.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Apparently, Kris Green will be conducing his interview with Gavin Blyth at the end of the week, so we should see that interview posted next week, instead of this week as he originally tweeted... I think he has yet to interview Phil Collinson...

Looking forward to it, Ashdown typically always has a good feel for the characters.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
Some are speculating that the interview was worded wrong and that Carley isn't really leaving, since there's been no other confirmation or reports on it. Some think the question was hypothetical, and the way Carley worded her answer was a bit strange if this is her "going away" interview. I guess we'll see...

I wonder why she decided to leave after 10 years, but I guess that may be enough for anyone in the role. She's been playing Steph since she was 17.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
Carley's been hinting in recent interviews that she didn't know how long she was going to stay with the show, I guess she was planning to leave for a while now. Still, this sucks, she's Hollyoaks longest serving female character in terms of being on the show consecutive years. The show won't be the same without her. I don't think they'll get rid of Tom, Frankie and Jack will probably look after him IF Steph dies. I don;t know if they'll even kill her off, If they do, maybe they'll have Max come back to escort her to heaven (hey, it's Hollyoaks!). I wonder what Carley will do now. I think she was always one of the strongest people on this show, and if she ever does another soap, I think she would be the perfect actress for Corrie. She can handle both comedy and drama well.

Thanks for posting that, dannigold. Apparently, this is what Bryan Kirkwood told Soaplife Magazine on Kat & Alfie's return:

More detailed spoilers of Stacey going into labour, and pics of Stacey and Ryan in the delivery room. I love Janine, but I bet I'm going to feel sorry for Stacey when Janine tells her the real reason Ryan's been snooping around her... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/blog/scoop/

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
Has anyone seen this? It's a "where are they now?" segment on the original Hollyoaks cast, there's also character descriptions, and there's even an original cast picture on it. It's funny how out of everyone, Tony is the only original character left on this show. I wish more of the early years of this show were available, though, I've heard it took a few months for the show to really find its groove. I know the show aired in reruns for a time on now defunct UK cable channel Trouble, so surely, someone has some tapes of the early years... http://www.e4.com/hollyoaks/tgtbtg/where-are-they-now/index.html

The Lady Gaga Thread
The video is just wholly uncreative and trying too hard to make some sort of statement. I don't even think it's downfalls are in the Madonna or 1930's Germany homages, it's just another one of her videos where she creatively chews off more than she can handle. It's a video that tries too hard to be provocative, yet it's strangely not and just looks like too many different things happening at once, which makes it a bit of a clusterfuck. I find something very funny about Gaga though. She's not a media obsession like Madonna or even the puppet Britney were. The tabloids aren't all crazy over her or her fashion. She has commercial success, but she's not quite a pop culture entity or force where everyone is following her every move, like her and her management wish to believe she is. Her personal life isn't quite the topic of random tabloid reports to the extent Madonna and Britney have had it. I don't know if I can say she's overexposed media-wise, maybe musically, but not with the media.

Scheduling reminder for next week. EastEnders will only be airing on Tuesday and Friday next week because of the World Cup. Next Tuesday's episode is an hour-long episode. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/scoop/a222916/soap-schedules-world-cup-week-2-wc-june-14.html

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Danny and Glenda (Ronny, Roxy, and Danny's mother) hatched a plan to take Roxy's money from her, after Archie left her millions. Though, it seems like Danny has been trying to screw Glenda over and take the money for himself lately, hence why Glenda is mainly back in town for.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I enjoyed Thursday's episode, Diane Parish continues to be great in this Lucas story. She's very underrated. I enjoyed Janine and Ryan scamming Vanessa, even if I wish they'd give Janine something with more substance to do again. LOL! at Stacey hating her baby shower, I bet that's going to be hilarious next week. Glad to see Glenda back, and nice to see Ronnie catch up on what a scam artist Danny is. The walls are definitely closing in on him. This episode was originally supposed to be aired next Monday, but due to the weird World Cup scheduling, they're an episode advanced. I wonder if Santer purposely ignored the Ronnie rape stuff and wanted Kirkwood to execute it. He probably knew he was leaving anyway and wouldn't be able to give it much attention. Glad it's being explored again though.

Sonia needs to just never come back, or just die off-screen. What an AWFUL character she became as she got older, not to mention, and I know looks aren't everything, but Natalie Cassidy is one of the ugliest people physically I've ever seen. Sonia's time and story is over on this show...
