Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
The "wasn't me!" excuse again? Sure... He's always seemed like a very jealous person at award shows when he doesn't win anything. And it doesn't help that he constantly whores himself on his Twitter to get people to vote for him for awards, and then feeds the fake "we don't do this for awards" speech to the press.

The Children In Need special occupied the show's regular timeslot last Friday, so there was no show.

I think there was a very dark and nasty cloud, especially in regards to how she saw dominant male characters and gangsters that hovered around on the show in Berridge's era that took a long time for the show to get over (I don't know if it ever really did). Kind of like how a similar type cloud hovered around OLTL even after JFP left. The stalker story about her is sad though. Crazy soap fans.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Ellie also had another supplement with Louise Berridge: Sharongate might as well be the most successful slow-burning story they ever told...- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Spoilers for the week of December 13th. Apparently, the spoilers from the week before are embargoed, so something big must be happening. Nice that they at least remembered Denise and the stuff she went though earlier in the year.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Corrie will be airing throughout the week during the anniversary week: http://www.itv.com/presscentre/coronationstreet/week49overview/default.html There will also be several timeslot clashes between EastEnders and Emmerdale during that week, which ITV probably did to lower EastEnders' yearly average, which is very close to Corrie's this year.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Seems like Emily Gascoyne has a longer resume. She's also worked with former EastEnders EP Matthew Robinson on a project, and was also a Script Assistant on Brookside and Hollyoaks briefly before joining Emmerdale. http://www.culverhousejames.co.uk/scriptwriters_cv.php?uid=52- EastEnders: Discussion Thread

Thanks. She's had an extensive career at Emmerdale, only leaving or being fired there last year. She was a storyliner from 2004-2006 there, then Story Edior from 2006-2008, and then Story Producer from 2008-2009.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Aw, no comments on Friday's show? I thought it was a really enjoyable episode. I'll never be the biggest Jack and Ronnie fan, but their wedding, or what was made of it due to Roxy's money problems, was nice and provided nice moments for Roxy, Ronnie, and Glenda. I think Friday was possibly the first time Kat was more like her 00-05 self since her return. We've gotten too much of the 'tart' on her return with little of the 'heart.' On Friday's episode, we got to see the show's definitive 'tart with a heart' back. She wasn't arguing with anyone or making demands, she was just being herself. That's why I hate how this show always focuses on one trait of a returning character for weeks and weeks, that's not a template that should always be used. It was nice to see Kat and Ronnie come face to face about their similar childhood experiences regarding Harry/Archie. That's where I think the similarities end though in terms of the similar trauma. Ronnie is 100% defined by what Archie did to her and her backstory with that kind of abuse. Whereas Kat, even though what Harry did to her as a child will always haunt her, she's determined to not let it define her and it doesn't, she fights hard against that stigma, thus she's definitely more complex than Ronnie will ever be. It's funny watching them building the Kat and Ronnie friendship knowing what's coming down the line... Stacey and Max, what can you say? Lacey and Jake just have amazing chemistry, and it was nice to see Stacey saying that she had to start having some fun again and can't live her life defined over killing Archie or Bradley's death. It's easy to see why Tony Jordan thought Lacey Turner should be cast as a Slater and why he thought she looked a lot like Jessie Wallace when she came in to audition for another role. When she's dressed in animal print, like today, she and Jessie do have a striking resemblance. Billy and Julie are a really sweet and genuine couple. I think there is a lot of potential to explore between them. I think Julie has been a great addition thus far. Oh Lauren figured out it was Stacey who killed Archie. But really, she needs to mind her own damn business, not like she gave to sh!ts about Bradley when he was alive anyway. So it was Phil and Shirley that stole Roxy's money. I guess Shirley catching the bouquet means she and Phil will be getting married soon... You know, I still believe that show has always made it clear that even though he treated them like sh!t, that the only women Phil ever loved were Kathy and Sharon. I bet if Sharon ever returns, they'll have him dump Shirley and get with Sharon again until the secret of Phil playing a part in the death of Dennis is revealed.- Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
^That was sweet. I'm finding this fire sh!t lame. I'm also finding 90% of the characters lame, lacking in charisma, and totally unlikeable. It's like there's no attachment to this show anymore.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
This is supposed to be a 2 year story too, so I wonder if people have the patience for slow burner storylines anymore. Will they follow a Sharongate template and expose out in the open in the Vic? Probably at Christmas 2012.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread

11.6 million tuned it to watch Jack reunite with ghost Vera and die: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/news/a286810/116m-watch-corries-jack-vera-reunite.html- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
The Jack stuff was good, though I kind of hate that he died kind of sad/angry over knowing the Molly/Kevin stuff and keeping it from Tyrone. The scenes with him dancing off with Vera were just touching and classy though. I hate Nick too. Him and his monkey ears. The Sophie and Sian stuff about the pastor and religious stuff was cringe-worthy. Despite that, I do like those two though. The show doesn't feel comfortable writing for them though, it's all "look we have two teenage lesbians!"- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
