Very sorry about your family's loss, Julia. I've been there. I have never had any illusions about Joe Scarborough and Mika and their many, many sins, but they do admire Joe Biden and this monologue from Friday morning - where Mika is clearly all but crying - is still a very good insight into Joe's ascent.

I still question the wisdom of doing this interview today, but I do think she's right. I believe the full interview is less combative than some excerpts. I also hope she knows you can't campaign on the same messages in every state. Neither she nor the Squad should've been surprised Biden wiped Sanders out in the primaries - I wasn't. (And unlike others like Omar, AOC did coalesce behind Biden strongly as soon as it was called and told the left to quiet down.) But she's absolutely right about deep-canvassing and too many Dems trying to avoid dealing with FB radicalization.

That is something where I agree with AOC. Fact is, ground organizers got it done this time around. People of color got it done. Omar, who I usually can't stand, got it done, going door to door locally and I'll admit she deserves a lot of credit for that. Yes, Trump's support among whites slumped a bit, but he shored up numbers elsewhere. The Lincoln Project guys are very skilled attack dogs, we all know this going way back; they're effective online but I'm not seeing much evidence that they made a huge dent for us where it mattered. I think we need to focus on listening to the people who made this - Abrams and other organizers of our own.
